Lake Evans, Buena Vista Aquatic Recreation Area

This was a great outing for our family. Lots of trees, tables and grills. Trash can at the table and was newly emptied. There werent too many people out.The bathroom was a disaster though.Will definitely return soon.

This place is very dirty. The rest room stalls have no doors on them you cant swim in the lake or fish without your line getting stuck in the weeds under water which are very sharp by the way. My mother, and both of my daughters got fishing hooks stuck to them just trying to get into the water. No I will never go back again. Its horrible

This park is really cool. We went for a day and stayed like 3 more days at a hotel. Its really nice

Beautiful place. Great for camping, fishing & swimming. Tables & BBQ grills conviently placed throughout the park. Theres a fee to get in but its not too bad. Special memories are made here.

Fun to go out on the water, but always pretty murky. Can fish, boat, camp, swim etc. Man-made lake, good for quick trips out! Be careful where you swim or have kids barefoot along the shore because people fish and leave hooks everywhere...

I dont usually have the best luck fishing. I went here on my birthday and did great.

Grate place to have a picnic, but to swim not for me also bathrooms are very dirty no doors on stalls. But nice grassy areas to relax.

Nice day out, not a lot of fish biting but I caught the biggest trout ever so...

Very impressed. I had never been here but saw it in fishbrain and on google maps when searching for a new place to take my son fishing. Entrance fee was 7 dollars. Thats for a whole day. Lake is huge. Water looked healthy. Didnt see/catch any fish but it was mid day.My goodness was there alot of camp sites. Endless amount. I do think I would like to try them. Theres sites right on the water. Would be real nice.

Best place to go camping Ive been to in a long time.

The campground is beautiful but the fixtures could use some TLC. Many of the picnic tables and bathrooms are in need of repair or replacement.

Beautiful park. We were able to relax and enjoy the local wildlife including a family of otters!

Theyre planting some monsters here, but the people visiting could be monitored a little more. Trash and and other junk along the shore really make it less enjoyable.

I love coming here every year for great western war.

I remember it being different when I was younger. It was an okay park. Theres no where for the kiddies to swim. Unless you want them to swim in the little pond where no water circulates and smells funny.

Purpose of visit was to fish at lake Evans. The grass was green with plenty of tables next to the lake. However there was several of children that were swimming so my husband did not even get a nibble! Other than that we had a wonderful visit

Love this little park. Just wish they would water the grass just a bit more. But the trees are nice.

Nice place to fish.

Worst lake in the county. They charge a high fee to fish here. When most of the trout stocked here are bought and paid for by fishing license holders. Most of the plants are DFG plants. They charge you to fish for fish you paid for...thats crazy to me. Dont give them your business. Complain to the DFG...its not Santa Ana Lakes they dont buy nice trout weekly for you to catch but charge almost the same. Fish else where dont give these crooks your business.

Its not where you go, its who you are with. Go with fun people and you will have blast at the lake! Do be careful! Jetskis are awesome but they do weigh a thousand pounds and they will hurt you if you arent careful!

I love this place,all my kids were there,we ate Sasha an charleston fished.it was a beautiful dayI felt blessed

Would not recommend swimming or aquatic sports. Very dirty grass killing chemical they use eventually drains into the water. Prop 36 hazard.

Great Park for camping fishing and boating

Very peaceful, calm, and relaxing. Nice place to take the boys for a day of sport fishing.

My non-profit organization had an annual event here, and it gets more fun every time. I love the park; the lake could do with a bit of attention & cleanup from time to time, but its all very pleasant.

Bathrooms are often flooded but overall, a nice site.

Not super clean water, but a very nice and calm lake. Inner tubing is very enjoyable on it.

Went to Great Western War. Its a nice park with a great layout.

Had an SCA War camp here....i liked the place.

The only reason I give it a 4 is because of the extreme​ problem of mosquitos and the dead bird that appears to have been ran over by the lawn mower. Make sure you bring mosquito repellent and a mosquito candle! You dont want to get West Nile Virus!!
