As the guide was explaining the log cabin, my 6- year-old granddaughter wispered to me, Is this the little house of Mr. Lincoln?
This was so fun! We went during Summer Story Time and got to meet giant centipedes from the Point Defiance Zoo. My daughter loved that and learning more about life in the 1800s. Great fun!
Small but very nice display of antiques and local Tacoma history.
Very cool place learned some good history of Tacoma I would recommend others to go here and the person who narrate the history really knows hes stuff thank you.️
Old Town owes its name to the fact that it was the location of the original settlement called Tacoma. In 1865, Job Carr built a cabin near the shore in anticipation of future land speculation due to the construction of the Transcontinental Railroad. (The original cabin location is marked by a plaque at the base of Carr Street. Job Carr Cabin Museumis a replica of the original, and is situated in Old Town Park. Old Town was sustained in its early days by fishing and lumber mills.
Beautiful spot with rich history. Kids friendly too.
Where the old meets the new. This replica cabin in Old Town Tacoma is a great place to check out before hitting Ruston. It gives an appreciation for all the hard work and courage that went in to forming this beautiful city. The park is great for kids and the concerts in the park are always a good time-best of all, its all free.
Fun little stopping spot. Theres some dress-up, old-time toys, and sometimes crafts that you can play with while there.
Good historical fun place for family
Great place to bring family and learn about about tocama, like i didnt know that this is the home birth place of Tacoma and hes the head person that made tocama the way it is today.
Though Id hardly call it a museum, its a very nice park for a picnic. Its really small.
Was very fun for children ages 5-10.
My granddaughters love it
Great field trip
