There is a nice little park next to the bridge. The park consists of several stone benches dedicated to fire fighters, a couple of charcoal grills and a large picnic table on the gazebo.
This covered bridge has a walking area on the side, It has beautiful views of the river And also the new aa memorial park it even has a little cookout standing stove and a few granite benches a playground for kids with plenty of parking it is truly very picturesque so bring a camera. This is a very peaceful area listen to the river and don’t forget their is a very good bed and breakfast named the Bridges Inn also Swanzey Lake is nearby this is a walking bridge the river is that flows under can be used for kayaking although you must launch in Keene.
Quaint covered bridge, with little park w benches and a barbecue grill
Love the red with white trim and double sidewalks.
Very nice covered bridge. There is a walking lane. A pretty nice village to walk around as well. A very cute park is beside the bridge.
Very cool covered bridge!!
Alfred Bracy United States Army Military Police say visit the Denman Thompson Bridge simply because one of the place to go with a beautiful ocean that runs wild.
Great Bridge. Fantastic Bridge. 10/10 would cross again.
Beautiful Bridge cant imagine how hard they worked to build it
Such a beautiful place! So peaceful!
Nice how they made a park. The other day we got chicken barbecue at Whitcom Hall. I took it to go and my family and I enjoyed a very nice picnic using one of two picnic tables they have there.Afterwards I enjoyed watching my husband and daughter as they threw rocks into the river. He was teaching her how to skim the rock across the water.
So romantic, John took me on a picnic under the bridge, and we did some fishing!! A very nice place to be!
Disappointed that it was a rebuilt bridge.
It is a common New England bridge. Great for pictures if you are from way out of town I suppose
If you like covered bridges this was part of a seven Bridge self-guided tour in the southwestern portion of New Hampshire. I personally was only able to find four of the bridges I was following a guide that I found on the internet so., best of luck. Did the tour in less than an hour with pictures and I believe theyre all within a 10 mile radius. Possibly I couldnt find the other 3 Bridges because I was starting to get a little bored, I like covered bridges but after a while they all start to look the same.
Another beautiful example of living history. The Thompson bridge is still used regularly but is still a wonderful place to just stop and take a moment to enjoy the wonderful views. Just be careful of the local traffic and people who drives too fast. And dont forget to take lots of photos.
Nice quiet relaxing covered bridge
Probably the most instagrammable of the covered bridges in the Swanzey/Keene area. Also has a beautiful view and has a section for walkers to cross through. If you walk towards the trees there is a waterfall and you can go down by the river. Its very peaceful.
Great covered bridge with a walkway - worth stopping at the pull-out by the fire station and going down to the water
Not much to say, it is just a covered bridge. Stop before going on the bridge to make sure a car from the other side is not coming your way
The river is so poluted and full of rusted pipes and glass but we found some cool old medicine bottles washed up on the side.
First time in Keene area...the many covered bridges are awesome and the bike trails are great as well in this area!
The most accessible of Swanzeys several covered bridges.
Its a bridge what did you expect
Good view
