Sugarloaf is a wonderful place to take your child to get better at dancing or just to learn something new. I have been dancing here since I was little. I am living proof that Sugarloaf Performing Arts is a GREAT studio. I wouldnt wanna dance any where else.

I have had children at this studio since around 2005. (Honestly, weve been there so long that its hard to remember when my girls started.) Through the years, my daughters studied many styles of dance, and enjoyed every teacher that theyve had.The teachers give excellent instruction, and the front office staff takes time to get to know the parents and the students. We feel fortunate to have found this studio.

We have been at SPA since 2014 and love it. The staff and teachers are wonderful and truly care about all the dancers. The owner Mrs Lori is very professional and her studio produces very talented and technical dancers. I would recommend this studio to anyone interested in a well rounded dance education and we plan on being around for a very long time.

The faculty at Sugarloaf Performing Arts (SPA) is a group of highly trained and very talented professionals who are invested in helping their students grow and improve. In addition, both faculty and office staff are very caring and make it a priority to get to know their students on a personal level. The studio itself is a brand new facility with seven large studios (including a tumble studio) and a large waiting area for parents. My daughter has danced at SPA for over eleven years and we have been very happy with the quality of instruction over the years. I highly recommend SPA to anyone who is looking for excellent, well rounded dance and/or tumble instruction in Gwinnett.

I decided to dance for fun at this studio, and it literally changed my life. It was here that I realized I wanted to become a professional, and it was thanks to the help of its loving and caring teachers that I am where I am now.For training, it is the best you can get as far as classical technique in the greater Atlanta area, not including Atlanta Ballet and the back in the day Georgia Ballet. They also offer a variety of classes to help round out the less balletically inclined dancer. These include Gymnastics, Jazz, Modern, and Contemporary Dance with some Hip Hop.After a year of training here, I was able to turn down a full scholarship at the University of the Arts in Pennsylvania, and instead opted to train on full scholarship at CPYB for three years.It has come some way since I first started there, and I can imagine it will only go further given the passion that drives its director.If your child is serious about wanting to become a professional ballet dancer, then THIS is where they need to be.If you or the child only wants to be the star, then they better work hard, or take them to a studio that will take your money just to make you feel good.Many things have contributed to my career, but If it were not for the this studio and the people who run it, I would not have eventually become a professional ballet dancer with two major companies.

Sugarloaf Performing Arts has been a wonderful experience. Very family oriented with a big variety of classes and levels to choose from. The staff is helpful and friendly. They make you feel welcome right away.

We moved to the Duluth area this summer and needed to find a new ballet school for my daughter. We were so happy when we found Sugarloaf Performing Arts. We instantly felt part of the family and were very impressed with the instruction and presentation. The teachers and staff are both knowledgeable and pleasant to speak with. We were beyond impressed with the performances we have been a part of since joining the company. Practices are handled without stress and are efficient which results in maximum effort produced on stage. I strongly recommend this school for instruction and the performances are definitely worth watching whether you have a dancer in the school or not.

Sugarloaf Performing Arts offers first rate instruction in both dance and tumble all in an amazing facility. The instructors are highly trained professionals who work to help every dancer obtain their personal best. As a long time student and company member my daughter has learned so many useful life skills (discipline, commitment, teamwork, time management, etc) in addition to continuing to grow and improve as a dancer each and every year. I personally drive almost 20 miles one way multiple times a week because I feel SPA offers the best program in Gwinnett county.

The main focus is on technique preparing the preformer for the prefessional world, while in a fun and friendly environment. Eventually it becomes your home away from home.

Update: Owner contacted me after my review to address what is not satisfied at my side and seeking for improvements. Afterward, there were multiple emails from SPA admin to communicate with parents and I do appreciate their reactions and effort so far. So I am giving 3 stars and will update the review after the season.This place might be for those who looking for ballet but completely not for hiphop learners. I have 2 kids learning hiphop once a week in here but advertised teacher rarely come to classes. Substitute teachers are terrible at teaching and dont concern whether kids are learning. Customer service is non existing because we have no way to find out how end of year performance is going to be. One good side is that they send you an invoice on time over your email to take your money. I tell my kids to be patient and enjoy process of learning whatever they want to try out but I am seriously considering quit this in the middle of school year. What a shame..

The receptionist is very nice and pleasant. My daughter likes & enjoys the school.Update.. since writing the last review the owner Lori met with us about my review and was vey concerned about the 2 stars I initially gave. She asked that I change it after or discussion about her employee being rude. She said she would retrain her. SHE THEN NOTIFIED US THIS WEEK THAT OUR DAUGHTER WOULD NOT BE APART OF COMPANY IF I DIDNT TAKE THE REVIEW DOWN OR CHANGE IT FROM A 3 STAR WHICH WE AGREED TO IN THE MEETING. THIS IS A FORM OF BULLYING AND I WONDER IF SHE TREATS THE KIDS THIS WAY WHEN WE ARE NOT AROUND. Although our daughter earned the opportunity to not only advance but to skip a level also. Our daughter over heard the conversation w Lori unknowingly to us and now Is devastated over Lori comments and her actions against her for my review. She cried profusely as she said she never wants to go back to spa again. We asked Lori so you are going to punish and deny her a chance bc of something she had nothing To do with? Her reply was yes im protecting my business. No Lori protecting your business would have been training properly the first time and or truly caring About the parents concerns. Lori, the owner has ruined her many years at SPA and is a terrible person for punishing my kid for me expressing my feelings about my experience at her establishment. I will say the employee has improved from the retraining but now SOMEONE needs to train the owner how to conduct and handle reviews. If your kid goes here she will control you with a contract that states you cant give bad reviews in so many words. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK.

Such a great atmophere for learning, growing and dancing! Experienced and well-trained instructors, classes for all ages, and a top notch performing ballet company!

Bad costumer service they close a lot but we pay for the month even if the kids dont have class crazy I told them that Im gonna be out of the country for two months and they want me to pay for that if I dont pay my cant go back to the class any more
