What a beautiful trail. Good for a power walk or bike ride, which covers more trail in the forest or along the Susan River. Some wild life, but the sound of the river is very peaceful. One of the best railroad trails Ive been on.

Its a pleasure to be able to enjoy walking and experience the beautiful trails.

One can tell the citizens of Susanville take pride in their local attraction and I highly recommend giving this lovely trail a go. The soft bubbling of the Susanville river will sooth your ears while your eyes find fascination among the jutting cliffs with their beautiful layers of history forever etched in their sturdy rise. The trail, a former railway according to several residents, rests wide and provides plenty of room for the entire family to walk side by side. With nothing to climb over, even toddlers can walk easily; yesterday my mother and I went jogging with our toddlers on the trail with a double stroller and we encountered zero issues. Theres a restroom midway down the trail, as well as strategically placed benches for those who grow weary midway. The path branches off to a beautiful place lovingly called Hobo Camp which needs its own review all together. 5/5 Bring the family for a nice bit of exercise and you wont be disappointed.

This trail is a fun bike ride. Its pretty rough at first because there is a lot of gravel on the trail, but its worth pushing through for the rest of the ride toward Susanville. The old tunnels the trail goes through are really cool and the majority of the trail runs through forest that feels like its in the middle of nowhere. Id definitely recommend a bike with some kind of suspension and padded shorts.

A great place to hike, ride your bike, or walk your dog along the Susan River.

Havent been to museum. Went straight to the trailhead and it was beautiful, peaceful, quiet, safe, with good map.
