Really nice small gardens, very suitable for younger and older patrons who dont want to or cant manage larger open spaces. But beautiful none the less.
Very peaceful place with room to walk around and enjoy the fresh air. And the goats were there!
Very nice place for a walk lots of plants and cute Chipmunks and other animals running around,The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about the plants it was very peaceful
I adored this place so much that I had my engagement photos taken here. The professional photography rate is super reasonable and I had no issue paying for such a beautiful spot. I really like the variety of flowers, the layout of the garden, and the ability to go inside the building. I would have my bridal shower here too, but it’s a but too small for 50ish people. The groundskeepers are friendly as well.
Pretty.. I went with more hope as it was praised alot by my friends.. its good but found it small then expected.. also my views could be so because we went in the middle of pandemic and tlnon of their exhibits were open so we only had our open grounds for us..
We went for the Daffodil Festival. While I feel like this arboretum is geared towards a heavy spring flowering show, I much enjoyed the natural feel of it. Holy daffodils though!
Nice well kept place with trails and plenty of things to discover. Great to go with kids
Beautiful grounds with lovely scenery. Definitely easier to appreciate for an older quieter crowd, but any nature lover will be right at home here.
Great spot in Summit and an easy walk from downtown. Nice place to have a picnic or take a nice stroll. Not super big, but they have great stuff in bloom all year round, especially gear when the roses bloom or in April when the daffodils come in.
Small but really nice botanical garden with interesting nature trails. Free entrance, automatic gates (closed by default).Beautiful views and great place to bring your kids here. Free and clean restroom is also available.
Flowered walks and lovely places to sit and admire the plantings
Its a small, quiet place for a short visit.
Beautiful, great little trip. The grounds were beautifully maintained. Parking on-site
Beautiful Garden. Took really nice pictures when I took the JESPY photo group there. They also loved the garden. Great experience.
So many beautiful summer blooms! Id love to see it on the spring when the daffodils are out too!
Very beautiful, friendly staff.
Nice place for a date or just a walk through nature.
It is a fantastic hidden treasure
Very nice calm place.
Attended holiday craft fair. Small amount of vendors, however quality vendors selling good stuff from specialty coffee to homemade chocolates; honey, soaps, exotic purses, jewelry, baby stuff and much much more!
Beautiful, although small, so dont expect a long hike.
Althea was great. She taught us square foot gardening.
Always beautiful
It was better than I expected!
The day I visit was bright and sunny. The arboretum did not have many visitors so I felt I could stroll and observe at a slow pace. The place has such beauty to show off that my eyes were overwhelmed at times. My two and a half hour visit was just perfectly calming and extremely enjoyed.
Beautiful gardens with wild flowers
Beautiful place, but not very large.
Rose garden has a wonderful fragrance
Is a beautiful place to be in here in peace
If you love the smell of flowers as much as I do this is the place for you. So many varieties of flowers, and a great place just to go walk around because theres so much to see youre so smart
Saw the goats!
Nice, donation based.
Amazing people along with spectacular views right here in Summit!
This a very refreshing place. I was there in the spring & i especially loved the Daffodil bowl garden. Nice mild hiking paths. Great place to gather your thoughts or spend time with a loved one.
Beautiful place, well maintained and tended to. Lovely area for a stroll
Beautiful, landscaped gardens and pathways. Used for professional photo shoots and outdoor weddings. During October they bring in goats who eat the vegetation on the side of a hill. Good for kids and adults. Free - with the option of both a one-time donation or membership.
Beautiful gardens,walking trails also
Its paradise on a small scale. More like a big backyard than an estate. Beautiful collection of trees, plants & flowers. Lovely place to visit during spring & summer. Kids classes are avail on weekends & during summer. The daffodil meadow is stunning!
Such a lovely oasis to reset and breathe.
Beautiful small garden. Nicely done. Many varieties. A few trails.
Beautiful venue. Perfect wedding celebration.
Nice
Never have I seen so many daffodils at one time. It was an easy place to locate. Exit 9b off Rt 24.onto Howard Ave. A beautiful mansion is the centerpoint and parking is good. Has a handicap slot right by the manor and restrooms are available. Bring a camera. A restful experience. Wheelchairs will not work on the trails but the main one is accessible.
Its a magical place!
Beautiful grounds. One of the best Pre-K birthday parties Ive ever attended.
Went here for a walk and picnic with my brothers family. It is a beautiful garden with some easy and short walking trails, and a lovely picnic area with stone tables. You can also visit the house and they have childrens camps available.
There are guided tours led by knowledgeable volunteers. Do not miss the wooded trails which are quiet and a worthwhile break from the regular world. Also look closely at the flowers and wildlife. In October there are goats grazing and many butterflies can be found.
Took my son for once of their childrens educational programs. Definitely five stars! Althea and her assistant Gabby did a great job teaching the kids and getting them excited about the subject matter. Would highly recommend it.
Beautiful hidden gem
Nature in suburban setting. Walking distance from the town centere.
Loud, 70s rock music really detracted from an otherwise pleasant atmosphere during Daffodil Day. Todays event geared to children. Nice photo exhibit in the gallery.
Excellent with many flowersand birds^^
Just an amazing little garden right here in Short hills. They have some beautiful little trails and a sweet little rose garden. Theres a big wild flower area that looks amazing in the bloom season. The door is automated and remains closed so as to prevent Deer from entering (I think) but as you drive towards it, it flings open. A must visit if you live around this area.Dont forget to donate.
This place is a gem.
Beautiful place, its free but you can leave a small donation if you want, a great place to relax for a little bit with gardens and a trail in the woods, not to big but still ok if you take your kids they will enjoy, a lot of plants and flowers.
What an amazing place right in the middle of a residential neighborhood. Beautifully landscaped property. Bring a picnic basket, relax and enjoy the view. We go several times a year. Bring a camera!
Through the flowers.
Beautiful, scenic with great food and gracious hosts
If there is a place so similar to my beloved Costa Rica...it is Reeves-Reed Arboretum in Summit. Everyone who works and volunteers there is amazingly passionate about preserving nature. In fact, even a Costa Rican born citizen like me finds it impossible not to fall in love with this magic place and its beautiful personnel. If you had a long week or just a hard day at work, make a u turn on your way home and get to a place where everything can be possible.Once here, If you close your eyes, you will feel the peace of this enchanting place. Put your phone away, remain in silence and listen to the concert nature has for you. The musicians are birds, trees, butterflies and the wind...all of them are directed by the sun, the moon or the rain...depends on what time of the day you choose to go. It is the land of Peter Pan for kids and adults. This is what I call my little Costa Rica and this treasure is located in the middle of Summit. It has been there for a long time waiting for you...dont hesitate just go... !
Serene & peaceful, enough said.
Absolutely gorgeous in the spring. Nice place to stroll around and get bewildered by nature.
Beautiful setting. Some nice trails in the woods. Great for small kids
Very nice little hidden gem. Especially beautiful during blooming season in early spring.
It is a great place lots of things to do and fun to visit.....
Beautiful place, serene and harmonious
Beautiful place to connect to nature.
Wonderful for Andy Kent Memorial Service
Quiet
Great place to walk around and have some peace of mind. take a book to have a good read if you are up to it.
We visited late on a Saturday afternoon, beautiful grounds, with variety of gardens formal and informal. Look forward to returning.
It is a nice enough place for a quick walk around, but is quite small. Dont expect to be there for long if you arent visiting for a program.
Was so beautiful with sculpture and lights. Staff was so nice
Such a wonderful gem, saw the tallest Cardinal flower ever, in awe of the Elm tree, magnificent!
Outstanding place. Automatic gate with a motion sensor. Harmonious place for a piece of quiet time. Free to all. Closes kind of early. Enjoy.
In the middle of an affluent town, they cultivated a wilderness for children to learn about nature A lot of gardening progrms for children as well as adults. Short trails are available.
Beautiful place and nice tour
Really a beautiful place with a lot of educational programs. But it is very small, so dont go there thinking you will be going for a walk or anything.
Beautiful. Simply splendid. Its low key. Not as large as some but just the right amount of flora
The best arboretum I have ever visited
I just wish I hadnt lived so close for so long without knowing about it. Beautiful grounds that I will be visiting again and again to see it tbroughout the year.
Beatiful....
Very nice place
This is a quiet, peaceful refuge from the noises of modern life in NJ. We attended an event in the main building. The side and the view were calming and beautiful.
Beautiful location for a small intimate party and as a photographer, a wonderful place to take photos
Beautiful place
Beautifully maintained. Great day trip to walk around or relax.
Amazing place to go and have a stroll with the family, its beutifull, you can bring your easel and paint the stunning scenery, you can even film there, just ask the info desk, and great place to have picnics.
Great way to spend an hour exploring the woods and some sculpture around the gardens. Peaceful.
Small but well maintained and pretty.
Go here on a nice weather.
One of my favorite places in the area to take a stroll, the daffodil bowl is lovely in the spring time.
A tranquil place and so well looked after !
