This NJ professional theater wont let you down. A variety of great shows is offered each season. As one reviewer already stated, some will make you laugh, others might have you reflect on life, but all are well produced and entertaining. Pre theater dinner and drinks in downtown summit followed by an entertaining show makes for a great night out with family and friends. Dont miss this local gem!

Local Actors Equity theater in an old small church with pew seating. Excellent performers with thought provoking plays and inprov comedy shows.

Nice community theater space in a former Methodist Church. The building is reminicint of a medeival gatehouse, a square stone block tower with crenalations atop. Inside, the theater space is intimate, with a semi circular stage surrounded on one side by 6 or 8 rows of gentled curved pews. It has a large comfortable lounge space for intermission. We met the company artistic director, she was helpful and informative. They did an excellent job producing and performing Dead and Buried, an October 201i production.

We have attended Dreamcatcher productions for many years - from when they were in West Orange. Their work is always worth attending. Sometimes we laugh and laugh and sometimes we leave think about life.I particularly like Continuing the Conversation: An Evening of Short Plays Inspired by Current Events, which has been produced for the last 2 years. We usually find parking in the lot that one enters from Ashwood Ave. or in front on Russel Place. There is usually coffee and simple snacks before the performance in a living room. The Oakwood center is an old church and the seats are pews, but they have some padding. You can see from every seat and hear well too.

Love this intimate professional theater located in an old church. This acting company does three offbeat main stage productions plus several improv and cabaret shows each year.
