I love the Summerville Family YMCA! They are in a great location downtown. They have great programs, classes and events. They do a ton for the community. Come on!!
Love that they have adaptive swim lessons for children with special needs. Trish and Jordan are excellent swim instructors, love working with them. Kali at the front desk is always really friendly and super helpful. Love coming here.
I thank God for this organization. Grateful for what they do for our community! ️
Good place to start if your completely new in town looking to get your children involved in some activities outside of school Very nice helpful people inside.
The staff are friendly and always willing to help. They have classes for ALL AGES not just the elderly. The teachers of the classes are so encouraging..the classes are fun . They also get together outside of the gym . You become friends. They have a daycare. Water aerobic for those that need to start out slow. But just because its water. Dont think you dont work.. best gym in town not just a workout but you become family at the YMCA
Flowertown festival is always nice. I do wish some of the nicer vendors with unique items could be on the main road. Also the people who sell alligator meat, they are price gauging big time! 3 years ago, nice pieces of alligator meat with fries was 7 dollars, today we got 3 plates of alligator meat and fries, it was $49.00!!!!! For breaded meat, you could barely even taste the alligator! Hell, I could have gone to Chophouse for a nice steak for that price. They failed to advertise menu and prices. The young girls seemed like they were making up the prices.Ive been going to Flowertown festival every year since 2010 but I believe I will pass on the alligator bread next year!!!
Nice people here helpful.
Local crafts, homemade food. If you are here and you skip this festival, you really have missed a great event. Prepare to walk, bring sunscreen and a portable stool for sitting. Keep track of your little ones, the crowd is tight. Go regardless of the weather.
Rude child care workers. 1 or 2 are good, but the rest need more training and better social skills. Inadequate diversity. Looks like a place more suited for elderly patrons in retirement.
No trash can anywhere to put your litter. Festival was nice, everything over priced, some nice peoples and some rude peoples. Too many dogs. Love dogs however not for a crowded event as this. People petting dogs and handling food is a no no.
I love it. nice clean and very good equipment. very friendly staff.
It was a giant street fair. Nice all around with food and crafts and a few kid things. I went with a stroller and it was chaotic and hectic to get around with it. Also it was supposed to be a kids fest on the day I went but I never got around to finding it, and I went all the way down to the park. Perhaps I missed it, bit still not what I expected for the supposed kids day. Overall it was nice but harder for parents going with younger kids since maneuvering around to stalls with a stroller will be difficult at best.
Went on a Saturday morning and was able to find parking on 1st. Easy walk to the festival and the crowd was still manageable. Line for some rides and food were not that long. Enjoyed meeting vendors and experiencing the city
Even in the rain it was fun! If you didnt get there this year put it on the calendar for next year. That date might already be on hold for next year, I forgot to ask at the info booth while we were there today. Lots of food, arts n crafts, rides, and area businesses in booths there to share info or to let you shop. Other stores and restaurants are open for business, too.
Had a great time! Wild Bills Soda is the best...I did think thevendor selling the Shrimp, Fries and Alligator Meat should posttheir prices. You order and then get this price that is totally ridiculous (very high). When it comes to food, it should be mandatory that vendors list their prices...
I have been coming to this event since I moved to South Carolina 12 years ago. I have never been disappointed. It is always a great time. I love walking through and visiting with the vendors and seeing the creativity!
I love going to the Flowetwon Festival every year! Its full of great booths and a super fun event to attend. It does getting really crowed, but I enjoy that! ;) Even rain doesnt stop this event!
Great facility with a nice friendly staff.Id like a hot jacuzzi and steam room added. It’s essential to my work out.
Great gym. Our kids love the childcare and the woman that work in there do an excellent job keeping our two young children happy and safe. In my opinion, you can’t find a better gym childcare in the Summerville area.
I look forward to this amazing spring festival every year. Although it draws a lot of crowds, there is something fun for everyone in the family! Delicious food, rides for the kids, and craft booths for great shopping, its always a fun weekend!!
Best craft show in the southeast. Fantastic three days. Hometown atmosphere.
Class instructors are good, but is a frenzy getting into classes (which should be managed). Outdated. Niche for people with kids wanting childcare or kid programs (**forget about it if your kid has special needs tho**) and for seniors wanting senior level exercise classes and to socialize.
Always fun! Theres a little carnival for the kids, lots of food trucks and community organizations, and hundreds of arts and crafts vendors. Its the same weekend as the bridge run, so go early to beat the crowd.
Always a memorable experience every year when I go with family. Enjoy it!
Awesome festival..Im a local. I try to go every year ..great food both local restaurants and all the carnival vendors also.....so many creative artisans vendors ..amazing how creative we all can be ..Lits rides for children...fun for the entire family...!This festival is to benefit the localYmca.....
Great family gym. My wife and kids go away last 3 days a week for anywhere from 30 min to an hour. Everytime were leave my 6year old never wants to leave and my 17 month old actually loves childcare and the staff. And she is not to bond of anyone but immediate family. Very affordable and the discount on sports and class for the kids makes it even better
I love this YMCA, and so do my kids. My twins are 11 months old and I have a 2.5 year old and they love going to childcare. The personal trainers are great, I’ve personally met with Danielle and she’s great and helped with all my questions. The class instructors always make you feel welcomed and I never felt out of place as a newbie.
So many vendors it was almost overwhelming. Excellent selection of food. Plenty of if rest stations set up
Its been years since Ive been to a Y and there have been a lot of changes in how theyre structured; all good. This place is amazing.
Love it! Great variety and family friendly.
The YMCA is a wonderful place to not only enjoy the amazing classes and equipment but its a time to be with my family and friends. The staff goes above and beyond for my 2 children (they practically have been raised in the Y). I would recommend the Y to anyone!
Its was pretty cool. Lots of vendors and family friendly
I have been a member of the Summerville Family YMCA for 7 years and absolutely love it! My children have grown up here, through the Moms Morning Out program, the Child Watch Department, through gymnastics, through sports. The employees here are not just staff they are family. It truly is more than just a gym, its a community cornerstone!
Just ok. Not enough hand made true artisanship. Too many vendors buying stuff and reselling it. Would just like to see more art and orginal crafts.
Went there twice both times front desk people extremely rude I was trying to join they can forget it now. On my way to a gym in goose Creek
Great place to run into 30,000 people.
Love going to the festivalTry and get there every year
LOVE the festival. We go every year. Love seeing all the venders and crafts. Parking can be hard the earlier you can go the better. You do alot of walking so be prepared. Lots of people so be patient. Prices very from low to high so keep looking
I cant wait til next year to go again!!
It was lot of fun lot of thing to see and do.
They make you feel like you are a part of the family. Their counselors are all well trained and are very polite. My children always beg me if they can stay when I come to pick them up because they always have so much fun. It is a great childcare option!
Wow, so many vendors and great food!Give your self the whole day to see all.Very clean and a secure.
I am not sure where they got the picture of the pool. The downtown pool is actually an indoor mini pool (15y length) - better for aerobics than lap swimming. They do operate a proper 25y outdoor pool (Oakbrook) - but it is opened seasonally. This is the first YMCA that I have been a member that did not have an indoor lap pool for a town of this size; and I have lived all over the USA and Dubai. Secondly, they did away with the small towel service which was nice - I assume to cut costs. Yet, I am still paying an egregious 70 USD/month. Thirdly, they eliminated the paper towels in the bath rooms - again, I assume to cut cost. In short, the price you pay for the Summerville YMCA does not align with the value you receive from its services. My prediction is when the seniors can no longer attend (that make up a majority of the membership), the Summerville YMCA will be out of business. Already companies like planet fitness are increasing their membership and offering a good value. And there will we more competition as the town continuers to grow.
After multiple bad experiences, I am SO glad to say I’m no longer a member at this facility and would not recommend them to anyone!First off, my 10 month old daughter almost CHOKED on a hot wheels car. In what sense does a hot wheels car belong in the daycare where BABIES are? Not at all. I also had a TERRIBLE experience with the staff there. In specific, Malika Watson, literally wouldn’t look me in the eyes while I was talking to her. When I prompted to tell her about her customer service, she literally SLAMMED her hands down on the counter at me and told me to learn respect. What company has their employees tell customers what to do?? Not only did she slam her hands down but there were a couple of employees on the side making jokes about me, including Kali Atienza. Again, I ask who lets their employees act this way? Not only did my child almost choke and now, they were BULLYING me. I stood up for myself and my baby, and cancelled my membership. The employees, along with the customer service they provided me and my family, and the neglect to the fact that my daughter was chewing on a choking hazard for her was absolutely uncalled for and WILL NOT go unnoticed!
So much to see and do you can easily spend a day here with so many exhibits.
Very beautiful flowers and food trucks with good food.
I joined this YMCA during my 7 month stay in Summerville while husband was deployed because of the child care, the gym was great, very helpful coach. However I cancelled after 2 months because the teenage baby sitters are a joke. They dont care about the kids and act like they arent getting paid to watch these kids. They are on their phones most of the time. I took my 1 year old and 7 year old, my 7 year old told me my 1 year old fell numerous times during 30 mins and the girls just laughed. I hired a nanny and they stated home while I still went to the gym and paid attention to the toddlers room and needless to say I cancelled that month because I shouldnt be paying that much to be worried about my kids not being in good hands. Mothers you are better off paying a baby sitter and a cheaper gym for care you can trust!
This will be our second and our last year with this YMCA and ANY of their programs. Came home after picking my kids up from their camps and was told by my 11 year old that he watched a youtube video with swears. Did not pay to have them watch inappropriate material. Have had a few other problems through out our time with this YMCA but this was the last straw. My question to them is what else are they doing there besides this that doesnt get brought up?
It is always on time and the people are friendly
Great vendors, fun atmosphere, and great food.
I really expected more, I mean it’s huge but there aren’t that many local vendors and it’s a flower festival... where are all the flowers?!!
Family friendly. Good cause. Great people. Every spring. Nuff said
Great atmosphere and friendly vendors.
Love to go each year
This years flowertown Festival seems to have been the best yet I found unique items the food is always delicious as usual and enjoyed entertainment. People seemed a lot more friendlier to each other this year than in the past years.
Fun times, great experience!
Its fun and friendly
Nice facility, good share of cardio and weights. Reasonably priced. Only issue is it is constantly slammed.
Great food wonderful service
Love it every year ️
All shapes, sizes, stripes, colors & ages workout hereStrong community feel for those who like a supportive community behind themEnough space to hide if you prefer to be a lonerGym rats to older people trying to better themselvesNon-judgement atmosphereNice staffFriendlyClean facilityBring your own towel !
Very convenient and lots of friendly down to earth people. Much better experience than other gyms.
Been coming here 27 years. I love it ♡
Always look forward to coming to Flowertown Festival just to see whats offered.
It rained us out but was nice for what we got to do
Too many commercial businesses, they should have their tents separate.
Needs to be better organized.
They have a pretty decent gym at an affordable family rate, they tween room, my oldest enjoys. Now for their toddler room, this is a different story, like i cant explain how un caring and un responsible the teens are that watch them in the afternoon/evening. The only thing you hear these kids say is, if you dont behave, im getting your parents; if i get your parents they will be mad. These teens dont want to do any work or any effort, they sit around and talk to each other and claim a paycheck.
My kiddos have been waiting more than a month for swimming lessons. Very disappointing follow up. We will be canceling our membership.
Had Great Family Time!
Very disappointed that pets arent allowed. We thought Summerville was pet friendly.
Little something for everyone. Parking is unclear and that being kind
Fun local festival
Good time and eats with cool arts
A lot of vendors and food

Annual festival that usually occurs around the first weekend in April.

Amazing festival
Love this place.
Always enjoy
Awesome there!
Great
Wonderful
Loved it......
I go every year
Nice
Always a fun weekend.
Rained ruined it
Older facility, needs some major updates. Small crowded rooms, small (somewhat gross) indoor pool. Surely they can afford to keep the place clean at their rates? I will not be returning.
Fun every year!
I just love Flowertown Festival in the heart of beautiful Summerville,S.C.
Always a nice time.
Too expensive for family time
