Weve been wanting to check out museums so we implemented museum Friday. The Dairy Museum was our first one. This was a great museum to check out. They walk you through the process of making milk, ice cream & butter. They have ice cream & butter molds from over the years as well as ice cream scoops, glass bottles from different products, machinery thats been used to make the different dairy products from over the years. An awesome ending to the tour was the tasty treat of ice cream, sundaes, freezes & floats for purchase. The museum is free to tour. Definitely worth checking out.
When here with my daughter on a field trip. Had a great time. First off its free. The place is laid out really nice. We actually learned a lot about milk and milk by-products. The people that are very friendly. Overall a great place to go. Learn everything from the old days of milk production to How Its Made now. they have a little old school ice cream parlor where you can get fresh ice cream. Great place 5
Its a fun stop to learn about the dairy industry; there is a little cafe, but we didnt visit. Lots of fun history. There were some items donated from my home town in Kansas, which was neat!
I took my husband and 7 month old daughter while we were in the area It was really cute! No admission fee, and the desk girl was so polite and helpful We didnt get to try the soda fountain, but a banana milkshake sounded divine It was a wonderful time, short yes, but I really enjoyed myself and the family time
Nice museum. Free to enter. Lots of old historical items. They have ice cream :)
Mr. Aaron and Kate the Cow came to our school this morning and shared with our students, all about dairy, where milk comes from and the important roll dairy farms have in our community. This was such a wonderful learning experience for our students and one they will definitely share with mom and dad when they get home.
Entertaining and educational-- presentation kept my grandchildren interest. Appropriate for any age group. The ice cream shop is always a treat before leaving.
Closed due to the Co-vid too bad, no mention of this on their website, wasted the drive
Great place to visit. The displays are well done and the children loved Cal!
There is so much history to learn, for free! There is fresh ice cream and a small gift shop if your money is burning a hole in your pocket. A great thing to do for a family day out.
Informative and fun place to take the meds. Ice cream shop is delicious
A very educational experience on the history of the dairy industry. Good for kids. Enjoyable to adults who like histories.
A great museum of the American history of the dairy industry. We planned a quick visit but stayed longer than expected. So many neat things to see and great information. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Great for kids and adults alike.
This place is super cool! Bring the kids, let them take a tour learn the history of all things milk.
We learned a lot. The opening film even kept the 3 year olds attention. Low-tech museum. Interactive spots to test your knowledge. Mr. Cal C Mumm was the favorite. Plan to spend about 1-1 1/2 hours.
I always bring 4 or 5 kids and they play for hours. I just sit or walk around making sure they arent destroying anything. Afterwards we head for McDonalds..its a great day for everyone
They say sometimes you should act like youre a tourist in your own home town. It was great when I came during my high school years and it still remains great now. Everyone thats close should frequent the place and enjoy some delicious dessert on your way out!
Its free!! Its educational!! And they sell ice cream!! We visited on a week day and were the only people there. Really well organized. I recommend this place to anyone that enjoys learning. We even watched a short video :)
A strangely entertaining look into the history of dairy farming. You can get a tasty bowl of icecream, too. Great location and worth checking out when it is way too hot in the summer. Staffed by helpful volunteers
A nice small town museum with super friendly people. The ice cream isnt to bad either...
Very informative. Interactive. Educational. Loved it!
I just love everything about this place!!
I love the dairy Museum if you get a chance to go then do it. Also they have a little soda fountain in the back of the museum where you can get an old fashioned Shake just saying
Took my son here (homeschooled) the museum is free and has a lot of really cool information. At the end they have a Ice Cream parlor with great ice cream, and affordable prices in gift shop. I went here when I was a kid and Im glad to see it still looks great inside and out.
It was my first time there and I was very amaze at all the things I saw and learned as I went through the place and took pictures of the different types of cows and what they do to produce milk and how there digestive system work in sulphur springs,Texas. It a nice place to take someone on a little trip they will learn and like what they see.
Educational and informative on dairy EVERYTHING DAIRYtry the ice creamOne word AMAZING
Very fun. Got a neat hat too.
Nice place to visip
Love to learn about how things are made in the past
Went there on a school outing. They have some great exhibits of some very old items all relating to the production of dairy products. Really cool to see some of the old methods. They have a sort of replica of an old soda shop where you can get some ice-cream and a very small, I mean very small, gift shop. It was an enjoyable trip.
Drove hours out of our way to stop her only to be told at the door they were closed. Had checked their website and day beforehand and the night before, nothing was posted about being closed. Front desk person was rude when we entered, its not our fault you didnt post that you would be closed.
Fun place to visit. Kids will have fun here.
Took my grandmother, mother, daughter, and grandsons. We all had something from the real old fashioned soda counter. My oldest grandson said his strawberry malt was better than sonic!
If youre into unique museums then put this one on your list. Lots of facts about the production and history of dairy products. Cal C. Um the skeleton is a must see :)
Really enjoyed the soda fountain.
The museum is free but the best part is enjoying the soda and ice cream parlor located inside.
Absolutely loved this field trip. The docent was very knowledgeable, friendly, good with kids, and fun! We also got to eat ice cream! Win win!
The heart is Sulphur springs.
Super neat place. Worth seeing if your near by
Excellent museum on the dairy industry. Nice gift store with a variety of cheese products.
Fun and good ice cream
Great place
Awesome people! Cant beat free kids education, history, and ice cream in one building!
Good local fun! Not to mention the added bonus of being educational.
Free museum and great place to take kids. A lot of things they can do.
Its a nice learning experience, however, there is no fresh milk products from Sulphur Springs available. The milk shakes are the best and its an overall educational museum.
A cool experience where you can learn about our town, eat good ice cream at a great price, and learn a few interesting things.
Great free museum but the ice cream at the end of tour was suppose to be free and it wasnt!
Ice cream!
Really neat place to visit if you are in town!
