Last Sunday we went to play golf and the blonde girl who served us in the restaurant was very rude, she did not wear a mask and apparently she does not understand or speak English, hopefully next time we will enjoy more at the restaurant with a friendly person and not rude! sincerely! Winn family

My cart died on me the last hole and we had to push it, but the course was in pretty good shape considering the weather weve had recently. Not a long course, but it demands accuracy. First time playing, might be a little pricey for the morning but good value for a twilight time for sure

Greatwood was in pretty good shape overall! Always loved the layout and the greens were in good shape, a few spots but mostly good. Only HV 4 stars because the guy in the pro shop was a little RUDE and unwelcoming this morning...

Course is in good shape for the amount of play I think it gets. A little slow pace of play but someone did make a group leave that snuck in back nine. Well done.

Under current pandemic, no single rider is allowed unless you willing to pay the extra for full cart. Their Income is more important than player’s safety.

Children run this course...literally. No adults to be found, including marshals. No keys for the carts, had to stand in line outside of the cart return waiting for a spare key. Upon teeing off the first hole, were hit into followed by three teenage boys cutting in on hole two.

Worst experience with no management.Nick Lopez, please remember the name, he is the manager of this club. I subscribed the membership with them for several months and then I terminated in June. They did not charge me in July, but for some reason they start charging me in August, until October I find out. If you also canceled your membership, please go back and check your bank account to see if anything happened to you. I called this manager at least three times a week and almost a month. His attitude is very careless and he said he is very busy, pretty much who are you and why I spend my time to solve your small amount of dollars issue . Anyway, finally he told me he already verified and they will refund me at some time. However, after 2 weeks, nothing show up in my bank and you wont get any follow up from them. They dont care their business at all. I finally dispute the payment through my bank. Thanks god bank support my like a client. What a shame!!!

During current pandemic, all golf courses take safety measures, such as single rider, but not for this course, if you want single rider, you will pay the extra for full cart.

Ok course. Why not marshal a little better and get slow players to either move on or let others thru? This is a problem at most Houston golf courses.

Well it was great until you needed to put. Then it was just chance. The ball might go in or run by 10 feet or up hill putts rolled right back to you if it didnt go in. Was a challenge

Good practice range. To play it is pretty fast. Greens and fairways need to be kept in better conditions. A little pricey but if they did a better job on the field it would be worth it. Usually little wait times.

How you don’t have markers on this course. No 100 yrs or 150? I saw one or maybe 2 200 plates but come on! The most common Yardage is between 100 to 150 and there was nothing out there... course was in an Ok shape.. greens were a bit rough. Bunkers were bad!!

It would be a 0 but for being a dog track, they dont charge much. The greens are terrible. Crabgrass, cant tell where the fringe ends and the green starts. Fairways are shaved to close with a lot of chafing in fairways, fringes and greens. Tee boxes are the worst in the area. Uneven and only grass on them are the weeds. They dont follow the hours they have posted. I would recommend going elsewhere.Q

I play a lot of golf in the area, typically at River Point, but decided to switch it up and play Greatwood. I dont normally leave reviews but I have read a lot of bad ones on Greatwood recently. The course was in great shape. The fairways, Greens, Teeboxes, everything. This could be in large part due to the rain the course has seen over the last month. Either way, a great course for the money, especially when the weather is right.

Pa
Review №39

This golf course is filthy! Tee boxes are littered with used tees and small pieces of trash. Fairways are like washboard. Hard to distinguish between greens and fairways. No signage! This place is OLD and TIRED. Needs a major overhaul.

Vi
Review №40

I went to practice range. Not at all well organised. First of all, I had to buy a bucket of golf balls at the Pro-shop and walk almost quarter mile crossing a road and grass to reach the practice range. Rage is not shaded and prone to weather changes and can not practice when it too sunny or raining. No lights for night practicing. No ball dispensing machine. Ill organized. No idea about the main course.

It is my favorite public golf course in Houston. It is a great layout! Even the toughest holes are fair.It is a well kept golf course and a pleasure to play. Lets tee it up!!!!

Greens a little rutted due to what seems to be a mower issue. Otherwise nice track with plenty of hazards to swallow a wayward shot.

Ladies tee boxes in horrible shape. Uneven and hard as a rock. Cant even insert tee in ground and no where to stand. Tee boxes need a total rebuild!

Pa
Review №44

Too expensive for the course. Not well kept. Front nine had greens that are in bad shape. In half of the tee boxes, the ground was too har to get a tee in the ground. $47 at 3:30pm is not worth it. Fairways were good, scenery is nice. The rating reflects the price to play.

Review №49

Staff are generally unfriendly. Course is in terrible condition considering the price. Almost impossible to get a tee in the ground at most boxes. A lot of fairways are in sub-par condition. Greens (especially on front 9) are hard and unkempt. Very few yardage markers on the fairways. This course has gone downhill.

Whoa, there must be a whole lot of Greatwood employees ghost blogging favorable posts here. No way this golf club gets four stars. Its poorly maintained, smells bad, and swampy with large swarms of mosquitoes that bite through any repellants. Just check Yelp or other sites for their ratings to compare.

Ugh! I rarely write negative reviews, but this place was utterly miserable. Half the holes were like golfing in a mudpile and this annoying marshal kept pestering my foursome to play faster because we werent catching up with the twosome ahead of us. We felt overcharged for the course and amenities, and harassed during play. I will NEVER PLAY HERE AGAIN!
