I went with my 10-year-old son on va 1/2 tour and both of us were amazed at the information and the time the tour guides gave to answer all questions that were asked. The history and stories behind the house captivates you and you leave wanting to know more. We will definitely be returning for a full tour

I visited this place on November 21st and took my two nieces. It was interesting, educational, and an eye opener for me. We will never be able to fathom the difficulties of this time period. Yes, some had it better than others just like today but we all should be grateful for what we have. The strangest thing happened to me as I walked into one of the rooms...I was being touched (literally) by something I could not see and felt stifled. Nonetheless, I began to ponder on whether something from that time period was trying to get my attention. I would recommend people to visit and enjoy the history.

My bestie and I arrived a little late but the guide was very friendly and gave us a partial tour of the house. I am extremely happy with the experience.

It was an amazing day for me visiting here. I was really amazed by those collections of antiques.

We were visiting family and wanted to find somewhere with Suffolk history and charm and Riddick Folly House did not disappoint!Lee took us on a 1.5 hours tour (fairly priced) of the 4 story mansion and was able to keep our children who are 10 and 6 engaged and interested. You could tell Lee has a passion for what he is sharing and is very knowledgeable. He would ask us questions and wouldnt even mind answering silly questions.If you are interested in Greek revival homes, carved moldings, intricate furniture, civil war memorabilia and history this beautiful museum will not disappoint.Also, the gift shop had many items true to the character of the home that were reasonably priced. I bought quite a few great items.

We had a wonderful visit. Theres a lot to see and plenty of parking. Our tour guide was entertaining and made time fly by. I would recommend it. There is something for everyone.

Mr. Lee was an excellent tour guide. His sweet spirit and gentle sense of humor kept my boys and I interested and happy. We loved learning all about the Riddock family and the stories of what it was like during the Civil War. Amazing history that you can visible see. I highly recommend this tour. My boys are ages 8, 10, and 11. They knew not to touch anything unless Mr. Lee told them they could. And Mr. Lee kept them engaged and interested.

Joyce gave us a tour of the home and she was great. She had a lot of info to share and was able to answer all of our questions. You can tell she really cares about the home and it’s history rather that it just being her place of work. Definitely check this house out if your looking for something to do in Suffolk VA.

Best tour ever! We have toured historical sites all over the country and this is by far the best one ever. Our gide was AMAZING. He has made this home so historically accurate and has put his whole heart into the preservation of this site. A must see!

Took my two niece here and they have fun. Instead of bringing your kids at mall better expose them to this kind of places. aside from the fact that the place is historic they will also learn a thing or two. thanks for our tour who also play with the kids!

Our free style tour which was suppose to only be a brief time due to time commitments became a wonderful afternoon all because the curator was such a knowledgeable and interesting person. We throughly enjoy ourselves and appreciate the loving care he and his wife put into getting area appropriate pieces and more importantly fighting the good fight to get actual Riddick family “goods” back into their home.

Joyce, our guide, was very thorough & have given us our moneys worth! What made it most worthwhile for us was that Joyce is just as fascinated with events & how things occurred as we are. She has great knowledge of the history & great memory! We enjoyed the tour, the restoration of the building and the artifacts displayed.

So improved over the last time I was there with my boys. recommend this stop to all historians.

Mr. King is a wealth of knowledge. He gave a wonderful tour. A great usage of two hours!

Tour guide was delightful. He has an obvious passion for the family and history of the house and its occupants. He was terrific with my nieces and nephew. This was my second time through and I learned something new each time. He was my guide each time. Wish I could remember his name. But he was an older gentlemen with a great sense of humor.
