Always LOVED this theatre. I went to see Sonic The Hedgehog in February and I absolutely LOVED it. The tickets wasnt as bad as the AMC Theatre was.

With 4 screens, chances are good youll see the movie you want to see. Old time charm still present inside and out. Sound and picture has been upgraded to digital and is awesome. Friendly staff and great prices.

A local favorite...the Strand is a classic movie theater with a nostalgic vibe. Its great for a casual date or night out...but dont wear your finest pants... The Strand is overall a lovely, small-town space. Movie quality is good, and the amenities are the same. I recommend the Strand to any non-pretentious citizen, willing to partake in the subtle, perspective-contingent luxury that is the Strand Theater.

We really liked the theatre but couldnt find entrance. We like old theatres and had no trouble with the seats. I would suggest u could make it a lot more welcoming by getting rid of the red walls and use a nice light color and also lose the black trim. We will come back, we like to support older movie houses

Good movie theatre and has a still old timey feel about it with a modern touch .

Not a terrible place but needs to be updated desperately. Seats are broken, and popcorn is stale unless you wait for the fresh batch. Not bad if you just want to watch a movie

Always has 1st run movies, and conveniently located downtown so you can get coffee, dinner then a movie but I wish they would apply for a grant or something to help update this place.The building has a lot of history but it needs some Major renovations and updates and the floor needs a good power wash... or 5. Very sticky.Eventually I don’t see the place being in business long as celebration cinema and Larger chain movies theaters take over near by communities and Netflix and subscription services raise in popularity.

No refills on anything anymore! Prices are way to high for what you get. Tge seats are sooo uncomfortable. The staff is nice though, there a bunch of good kids that work there. But as a movie theater experience, it was miserable. The Brokaw theaters is much better and cheaper! The strand can stand to take a page out of their book before they end up having to clise their doors! Nobody wants to pay high prices to watch a movie comfortably!

Low cost. - old time atmosphere

Its an older theatre it doesnt have comfy seating and the screens have stains. But thats part of being around for ages. But the prices are nice.

The Strand is the only theater in town. It has four screens. Movie prices and concession prices are great compared to bigger theaters. Service is friendly, and they have been around for a number of years. They also offer some movies in 3D. You also save money by not having to travel out of town.

Trying to get my mom and I in the theater was a hassle. My mom has trouble walking and both of us had a hard time seeing where the seat was at. And we were there early enough that there should have been plenty of light.

Great place to catch a flick at a great price. The seats are the old style fold downs but its rare to have an issue with someone blocking your view. Avoid the 3D offerings though, they still use the red/blue filters and not the Real 3D projectors.

Its a small town theater. Its nice because its close to a small town and you still kind of get the movie experience. However there are bigger nicer theaters within a 30 minute drive. But this one is less expensive and has good popcorn as well :-)

The room we went to see a great movie in was way too small and the screen was not very big, volume was way to loud it,s o.k. but not great. turn down the volume and get bigger screens

Ive always enjoyed the Strand. The buildings antiquity makes it adorable to visit and the staff is always friendly. The boys do a great job cleaning up as well. As for the prices-- you really cant beat it.The Strand is a great theatre and reminds me of high school. I go for the nostalgia and I stay for the popular releases and the good service.

While I havent been here in a very long while I do have fond childhood memories here. I love the vintage sign. It just is Sturgis without the Strand Theatre.

The movie was good (although at times you could hear the loudness of movie next door), the workers were courteous and helpful and attentive, the popcorn and super sized drink were good, but the1st seat I sat in was broken and almost sat on the floor, but eventually found a seat that was working! The place needs to be closed and renovated for adequate seating knowing that a lot of people come to this theatre! Thank you for your dedicated work crew! February 12, 2020 ... Went to see Doolittle! Apparently; the owner doesnt much care about reviews because NONE of my previous concerns (from a year ago) have been addressed! Appropriate movie to see because the owner DOES do little to improve the customers pleasure of watching a movie! The theatre stinks ( very musty dusty smell), it was freezing in the theatre, the pop had a musty taste (machine needs cleaning), the seats are falling apart and too many local commercials! You would think that with all those commercials ... the place would have enough money to fix this dump up! It is clear ttha the owner doesnt care! Too bad because Sturgis is revamping its downtown, but not here! AGAIN; the ONLY good thing about The Strand is the dedicated work crew! 2-14-2020 ... Talked to other people and they said they would never go to the Strand again, either! Cmon owner ... DO something to clean up your terrible venue! Did you ever wonder why there would be only 5 other people watching Doolittle?

Ive went to the Strand Theatre, since I was little. A hometown, modernized, historic movie theatre with four movie theatres. Inexpensive concessions and family owned service, that still has nostalgic atmosphere.Love it!

We had a group of 4 and had to move 5 times to find 4 chairs in a row that werent broken. My shoes stuck to the floor. And this wasnt even a busy night.

Good local place to go and see a movie. It has all of the basics you need, but its nothing fancy.

Uncomfortable seating but low prices. Popcorn is like 7/10 but the most unhealthy and buttery bag youll ever get. Feel free to decide on your own if this is good or bad.

PROS ~ The process are great!!! Especially for showing new releases.CONS ~ Could definitely be cleaner, and the screams are small. Also not apply it late night movies! :(

Growing up in this community, the Strand is what weve had. It could use a facelift, better speakers, and more attentive staff. But... its a great spot to spend a Friday night with friends!

Why are there missing chairs in a dark theater? Also for the same price you can drive all the way to Three Rivers and enjoy a decent quality screen and speakers that wont pop.

Hard to beat the price. the staff is friendly. the theaters are on the smaller side. Parking fills up quick.
