One of the best near-bye getaways from Omaha. Drive two hours to a huge 5 mile lake similar to the ocean, get a room facing it & feel like your at the ocean The restaurant had the best food & margarita available. So happy with our short stay. The water resort was closed but a future date may be in the works !

The location of Kings Pointe is unbeatable: right by the lake, beautiful views, lovely trails. There are signs of overdue maintenance all over the resort although the overall impression of the hotel is pretty nice. The staff was disengaged during our last stay. Also, the prices for rooms are as high as in any big city minus the usual perks: breakfast is not included, the water park tickets are extra unless you pay more for the room, no discounts for the water park passes for hotel guests (only for local residents). There is a dock by the resort; it would have been nice if they had some boats / kayaks, etc. for rent... Even though check out is at 12, maintenance staff start cleaning the rooms at 10am and they knocked on our door disturbing us.

This is a nice place from the parking lot to the room. Friendly staff and our service was quick. The water park is pretty good for its size and right by the lake which is nice. The restaurants food all was good with no issues. We didn’t end up with a room with a view but maybe next time. We got a double and it was clean and orderly at check in. There was no microwave which was kind of let down for food and baby’s bottle.

This place is great. The parking lot is big, check in staff was super helpful and friendly, everything was clean, and the water was warm. We got there early and it was near empty which was great for our 4 kids. The staff was decent in the water area except they were not consistent with treatment. One mother let her kid block the log thing, go both ways and at the same time as smaller kids with no one saying anything yet walking by. I still recommend going. Worth the money and drive.

The waterpark was great, something for all ages, tube slides, fast & medium speed slides, diving boards, little kids play area. Indoor & outdoor pools & slides & a lazy river. Our 2 king double room suite was very spacious & we had a full size fridge & dishwasher, sink & large counter, but could use some updating. We had a double balcony that over looked the lake & waterpark. There were walking trails we took scooter rides on & a fun mini golf course

A great experience with family. Stayed in the Sunrise Cottage and enjoyed the water parks and boating. The Regatta restaurant was very good.. needed a host for seating..we made reservations in advance!!

We came here back in February for our daughters birthday and was very impressed with the rooms and the water park! We came back again this past July and had the same experience adding in the outdoor water park. The manager Tyson does an incredible job making sure his workers are keeping an eye on the kids and their safety. We always watch our 4-year-old very close but I know that they also have our back watching her safety and all the other kids there. I am very impressed with Tyson and how he has his workers trained to make sure everybodys safety is of the utmost importance! I feel that if you have a family and you want to take your kids to a water park and have a safe and fun experience this is one of the best places to go. I cant say enough compressed I was with Tyson and his crew when there is so much as a kid hurting their toe or a parent cant find their kid how they stop everything to address the situation.if you are located in the Midwest this is a great place to take your family!

We had a wonderful experience at the waterpark. The lifeguard team was the best I have ever seen. They were everywhere, they were on top of everything, and they were very friendly. The manager was amazing, running over to my daughter when she stubbed her toe and asking if everything was okay. Everyone at the resort kept it family-friendly and it was one of the best trips we have ever taken. My kids were begging to return before we even left - we will definitely be returning!

Pay with cash. Employees to incompetent to trust with cards. Been charged multiple times twice the amount of my 2 night stay and front desk sends you to a voice-mail box when calling to get it straightened out.

We love the waterpark & the rooms are nice and big. We ate dinner at the Regatta for the first time (this was our 3rd stay) and while it was very good, they seemed to be out of a lot of items on the menu which made it difficult to order. The food we did order was great and we would recommend eating there. The staff was super friendly and the housekeeping ladies were always smiling and chatting with us in the hallways. Great staff.

Rides were fun,but no snacks available. I dont understand why hot snacks cause Covid there, but not anywhere else.

I like the hotel. Right now the staff is working hard to make sure everything is up to standard COVID stuffs.The staff is helpful, it was real rocky at first with our reservation, they messed it up, but after I addressed it, they fixed it, and everything was good.

My parents made reservation back in March... after flying 1500 miles from California and driving from Omaha, they were told that they were not able to stay... if travel restrictions were put in place, why did they take the reservation with the knowledge they were traveling from California?? Why no follow up email notifying them of changes with the reservation... I was very upset... there was no manager available to describe to me what happened, (or what didn’t happen)... the girls at the front desk were entirely unhelpful and had no answers... this threw all our plans out the window as we were celebrating my daughters 5 th birthday... completely incompetent management... will never stay there or use the water park again... terrible is how I describe my experience...

Great indoor and outdoor waterpark! Staff were friendly, professional and well trained. We were really impressed by how the manager (Tyson) ran the waterpark. You can tell safety is their #1 concern which we appreciate.We have stayed at the resort in the past and had a great experience. This time we stayed at a nearby campsite and got daily passes to the waterpark which were very affordable. Great bike trail around the area. Very clean!

We had a great weekend at King’s Pointe! The rooms were clean and the views are beautiful. The bathroom looked recently remodeled and the food was great. We will definitely be back!

Great in pricing, great fun for the afternoon. Kids are tired and taking about all the fun they had.

I would say overall a very nice place to stay. The only thing that I didn’t like was the restaurant/bar closing at 10pm. Getting there at 945 didn’t give me any opportunity. It won’t deter my next stay if I’m in the area, just will know to slip in a little earlier or pick up some food on the way

Front Desk, Restaurant and water park were fantastic but our room had a foul odor to it when we checked in.

My son and I were there to visit Buena Vista University. The hotel and the staff were great. If my son decides to attend Buena Vista King’s Point will have regular visitors during soccer season. Great place to stay!!!

Overpriced for what it is. Disappointed there is no water park discount for staying at the hotel. Staff was friendly & room was clean.

Clean and well maintained but not worth the money. There is no continental breakfast (restaurant on site), there is a waterpark attached but was not open when we checked in. There is not a pool/hot tub that isn’t attached to the waterpark so there is nothing to do on your downtime.

Check in woman was nice, but brand new, thus a possible explanation. She had difficulty getting my Charge card to register so did a repeat. Next I went to my room & it was inhabited by a maintenance worker working. Finally, at checkout another woman greeted me as “Roger.” When I corrected her she responded, “just kidding,” but I doubt that was the case.

Disappointed for the price we paid, we didn’t have a microwave in our room, and there were strands of hair on our bed linen, the ice machine down the hall was broken.Breakfast at the restaurant was “ok” and the price was fair. Lunch however, was different story, clearly the restaurant was way under understaffed, had to wait for ever to sit at a table, and it also took along time to get our food.

Great service at the front desk. The Regatta Grill has one of the best ribeye steaks Ive eaten in years!! The cleaning staff is wonderful and did a great job. The water park is perfect for the family. Plenty to do. I was here for 10 days on business in a family suite. I recommend it! Plenty of wild life as well.

Indoor water park so crowded, no where to sit, towels were never available at each of 3 times we went in two days. Could hear running and stomping all day and night on next floor above us. Shower amenities soap plain and stink 1 small quarter size bar. 3 tubes total 1 shampoo 1 condition 1 body wash like 1 oz.. we had 6.members in our room. We had coarse hard towels that could actually stand up to dry with. But only enough for 2 people. TV remotes did not work. Over rated over priced and buffet food absolutely awful and cheap food like frozen french toast sticks maybe real french toast would gave been better. Sausage gravy had to be from a can otherwise somebody cant cook??? Milk jug empty and we were first in line in am. Cows must have been on strike. Sheets were so thin I could read the mattress tags through the sheets. The chlorine so strong in water at pool area our eyes all burnt and I think it bleached our skin and hair!!! Definitely not worth the 269 for the room and 100 for the food. Should have pool open for hotel guest only certain hours so we can be accommodated better for our patronage as well. Some of the lifeguards looked extremely board and walked so fast around pool area they didnt see the little girl I had to save from drowning who was like 3 years and gasping for air as she went under water several times. Nor did her parents though. Good thing she could get the words help out. So there you have it. I was terribly displeased and had to shower 3 times when I got home to get chlorine out of my skin and hair.

The main lobby and restaurant in the hotel were very nice and clean. For the price though, I was pretty disappointed in the rooms. We found a bed bug in the first room we were given. The second room had food and hair under the mattress. The indoor water park was nice but the chlorine was very strong. We will be back to try the outdoor water park but we wont stay at the hotel again.

Great place for the waterpark and sunning in the summer the indoor park is nice as well.

Front desk customer service was suboptimal. Front desk clerk actually dropped an f - bomb under her breath regarding the customer checking in before me. Room was not ready at checkin time. Room was terribly dirty; bathroom was disgusting and had a terrible smell for the first couple hours we were there. Food from the restaurant was good, however toom service staff made the announcement they had never done room service before and seemed very uncomfortable. Will not recommend, will not return.

Indoor pool area was nice but the chlorine in the air was burning my eyes within minutes of just walking inside. Kids still loved it! Outdoor pool area was good. Kids loved that area too!Outdoor pool area needs to be open an hour longer or close at the same time as the indoor pool area, especially when this place is a Water Park Resort. Also, standing in the concession line to get towels doesnt make sense. Need to have them out or have a designated spot for them. The hotel was very nice and clean. The staff was nice and accommodating. Recommend staying during the week when its cheaper and less crowded. Overall, a good place for the kids to swim.

Our cabin was double booked so we had to fit 8 people in hotel rooms. Not only did we have this booked for over 30 days, but when we got moved to the hotel they did not have blankets in our room. When asked they told us they had no way of getting blankets. We had to call a manager and wait over an hour to get a blanket and pillows for our bed. Would not recommend.

While the resort was mostly acceptable the ice machines if functioning were lacking in their upkeep. The service at the restaurant was very slow and poorly organized and the furniture and general appearance of the facility was not great. Along with many small stains in our room that would not show up well in pictures. On an upside the water park and staff was helpful and enjoyable.

Great place to bring family. Staff were all friendly and they have a few slides that were good for multiple rides. Would be nice to have more pool area for adults.

Hotel room was clean. Water park was nice. Lifeguards were very good. Watched kids continually! Safe!

We stayed in the cabins down the road from the resort. First off check in took forever and they overcharged us on passes for the pool. But because it took forever my dad just ate the extra cost. Cabins were very nice and clean and the view was gorgeous. One of the beds in cabin D in the loft needs a new mattress and for what we paid in price there should be two bathrooms in the cabin that can sleep 10 people. Other then that very nice place.

Wonderful relaxing environment for business trips

This facility is beautiful. The Waterpark is great. The staff... not so much. I’ve stayed in a lot of places in this price range, and I have to say these people really need some customer service skills development. Front desk staff, lifeguards, cleaning staff... pretty much everyone. I’m sure they didn’t intend it, but nearly everyone I had contact with came off as rude. If you’re going to charge those kinds of prices, you may want to focus on leaving a good impression with departing guests so they want to come back.

Make sure to get top floor room. We listened to running and jumping at 5am ever morning. Sounded like they were crashing through the ceiling. If you get a lower room, make sure you dont have a suite above you.

Nice place to take kids but. no one ever answers phone. also if booking there watch your credit card to make sure what they tell you for a price matches what they bill you!!

This a beautiful place to go has great views of the lake and sunsets. The food has improved some. But for the type of place I expect better yet. Very clean, waitress was good also menueneeds some work without being terrible expensive .

I love this place because it is so fun to watch people swim. It is awesome for children because they can swim,go down slides, go down diving boards, and much more. Theres​ an inside pool and an outside pool. There is even a lazy river! When you feel like eating there is a food place.

Beautiful place for weekend getaway, Leisure stay or planned events. This Resort has everything needed to relax and enjoy the time. The fantastic restaurant to splashing at the waterpark! The views are amazing as well. Already planning another family trip here sooner than later.

Paid extra for a balcony. Here was our view. I couldnt open the door because of the flies and grease smell. We didnt realize no pets. The guest service book said pets allowed for a nominal fee. The rude front desk person said no pets period after we had been there 4 hours. I I called to check before leaving Omaha. I Had to leave voicemail that took 3 hours to call me back. By then we were pulling in the parking lot. The fee was 75.00. No blankets or pillows for the pull out bed.

My kiddos and I came here for new years eve, it was very nice for the resort to offer hot coco and toppings for it. Also, my room was clean, and the beds are really comfortable. I would definitely reccomend this to others. We did water park too . Waterpark was also a blast and lifeguards were very attentive.Thanks for the great experience.Sara

Its a fun place and do enjoy it. It does seem like they are starting to let it go. We go one -two times a year a d notice that more and more rebar sticks out from land scaping or fake rocks for lack of terms. They are starting to rust and well thats not good if you fall on it or trip over it etc... Inside cleaning could be done to. Many parts of the main water feature dont work when kids play on them broke and rusted. Kids area by eating area not all water sports work. I could keep going but you get the point. Its not the worst place but would be nice if they did some up keep or it will go down hill fast.

Steaks were amazing, as was all their food and very reasonable.

Lobby and restaurant are really nice. First room they put me in had been smoked in and second room had quite a bit of damage in the bathroom and wasn’t very clean. Broken tile and grout on the floor, mildew in the corners.i feel like it’s time for at least a bathroom remodel

The worst hotel experience ever. The room temperature when we checked in was set to 54 F. When it was very cold outside. We were so cold that my kids got runny nose. We waited for 3 hours, but the room temperature did not wormed up after turning the heat up. We warned the front desk, maintenance came and checked thermometer and said it was not working. After 5 hours at around 10pm they offered us to change the room, but we were so tired with kids that we didnt move to other room. All night long we were cold and frozen.They need to make sure to set and check their rooms for proper temperature. And train their stuffs to be more polite and not to be rude.

We came here for a wedding. The restaurant manager was the best! He and the staff were very good and the food is excellent with large portions and good price value. I recommend eating all your meals here and forget about whats in town.

Restaurant is closed on Christmas morning and there are no other breakfast options either at the hotel or anywhere else in town. The front desk offered to look up restaurants that would be open, but didnt go any further than looking on Google Maps (which didnt have Christmas day specific info).

The room was two queen beds with lake view. Otherwise clean and up to date .Getting the hotel booked was quite stressful. I had called 3 weeks prior to needing room. Knowing it was a holiday weekend I new my chances were slim. They were booked but put me on a list and would call if they had any cancelations. When I followed up on a call from them saying a room had opened up the man on phone lacked basic skills of phone etiquette. He checked into room availability and never once said, yes weve got a room available. No, he simply started asking for all my information to pay for the room. I had to stop him to verify there was a room. He said there was, I then had to ask how much he was charging me and what kind of room I was getting. He took my information and said he would send me a confirmation purchase email. I never received an email by the end of that day so I called back. The lady that helped me this time didnt know what I was talking about and she also lacked professional phone skills. She said they would follow up with me again if a room came available. I spoke with a manager who told me that the first person should have called me to let me know that the room was no longer available and he did not. Clearly there is a management issue here. The next time I got a phone call about a room coming available I called back within 30 minutes and the lady on the phone was short with me and said the room was not available anymore. She said all of this before asking for any information from me to get the adequate details she needed to look into it. The room eventually got booked. My overall stay was great but the staff that speaks on the phone desperately need phone etiquette courses! They really lacked basic Hospitality skills that I working as a nurse, have had to learn for my job. And it seems that a hotel worker should have far more Hospitality skills than a nurse.One random other option I wish all hotels offered would be to have sound machines available for guest .

Looked for somewhere to bring my 4 year old. We deove 6 hours to go to their water park, which they represent as a waterpark resort. When we checked in we were told thay the waterpark isnt open during the week? Very unhappy 4 year old...I would have stayed somewhere for half the price with a free breakfast.

Best water park for being an indoor and outdoor water park and they are very clean

I went there with the fam and I love the shore and the light house. It is very beautiful view on top of it. Also from the room I had, had a great view of the water park and the lake.

Bar and restaurant were average at best. Part of their resort is a water park. We paid for 6 teenagers to go and they offered two yes that is correct... two towels for them to share. Room had the necessities, and the upgraded view of the lake was worth it. Overall, I am not sure it was worth the cost.

There were pizza toppings on the counter and pizza toppings in the couch and barely anything to watch on the TVs and under the bed was garbage and nasty things. It was fine but still just bad cleaning!

Pool is great. Wish my kids where a little bigger, then i could use the slides a little more!

This is a nice place to spend a couple days if youre in northwest Iowa. The pools and slides were all clean and working well. The lifeguards and staff were also polite and attentive.We stayed in a lake view king suite on the 2nd floor. The room was clean and in good condition. Our balcony was right on top of the restaurant roof which restricted the view and a little noisy due to the kitchen exhaust fans. The kitchen was a little disappointing, but mostly due to our expectations and not the description. We expected some standard kitchen items and utensils given all of the cabinets and drawers, but they were completely empty. So we improvised and used coffee stirrers as make shift chop sticks and attempted to eat yogurt :-)Good visit overall and we will definitely visit again in the future.

Cabins are awesome for the price. Couple things. Took way to long to check in. Get your stuff together for renting the cabins. Do not ask guests to clean. Do not change your hours on the thought process of a teenage life guard thinking its not warm enough yet let your guests decide on that. Open when its advertised. You are still advertising about the arcade that doesnt exist anymore. That is devastating to a 9 year old.

Staff was helpful and the location was superb! Water park was a blast! Needs some exterior painting and minor cosmetic updates. Overall much better than we expected!

Beautiful location and facility. Restaurant is lacking. Food was fair to not good, service was slowish but extremely friendly and helpful.

Spent the night at the water park for a weekend getaway with the family, we have three small children. We had a great time at the pool and water park. It was great for the kids and kept them entertained the while day. The outdoor area is definitely the way to go but it was fun coming to sun inside again after dinner! The hotel was clean and the room was large, the staff was nice. The only con was the wall paper in the bathroom was peeling off in a few places.

Nice play area for children. Great view of the lake and by a beach. Lots of space for running and having fun.

Rooms are large, ceilings are high. Decks are a wonderful touch to sit, drink,and look out at the lake. Beds are a bit firm for my tastes. Biggest let down is the price for the town you end up being in. Not much around and the smell is terrible.

Very nice hotel. Unfortunately the waterpark was closed when I visited. The outdoor balcony was great, the bed wasn’t as comfortable as other hotels though. Netflix ready tv was a plus. Restaurant was great food was delicious. The bar doesn’t sell “premium draft beers” in the larger sizes.. apparently someone thinks blue moon is a premium beer :/ overall great stay here

Nice family attraction. The slides are great fun. The air inside was warm, but the water wasnt quite warm enough for us. Well go again if were back in the area.

Not a bad place. Little crazy on weekends with all the kids. The staff can be rude depending who you get. Nice to be on the lake tho. Golf course across the street. The manager was very rude there. Just an fyi.

My second stay here and first time that I used the restaurant. Rooms were nice and big, bed was comfortable and my room overlooked the front parking lot...so not a scenic view. Food took a long time to arrive and wasnt very good.

The location and park was great, but I wouldnt put the room at the top of the list. I could hear people in the room next to me carrying on a quiet conversation as well as people in the halls. Disappointed that there wasnt breakfast.

I checked in on a Friday evening. When I went to use the comforter, there were blood stains on it. Front desk first told us there housekeeping was closed and there was nothing they could do. They did eventually replace it. I then go to take a shower Saturday morning and the water is sputtering out with very little pressure. I tell the front desk and they said maintenance would come and look into it. Maintenance said it was working. Saturday evening I go to shower again and the shower was NOT fixed. I have video of evidence of each incidence. Front desk just gave us a free breakfast (of which the server had to ask twice what we ordered so our wait was extra long) and $30 off our stay. 3 days/2 nights and still no shower. I felt we vastly overpaid for a terrible weekend stay that just included a bed.**Edited to add that I got a direct call from Management on Monday afternoon apologizing for our experience and compensating much more for all the troubles.

Kings point is very friendly and respectfully. The staff always make sure you are satisfied with your needs. The inside pool is very nice to have during the winter for those who love to go swimming alot.

The facility from the outside and the general interior is great and week kept. The room layout was odd and not as spacious as we had been sold. Housekeeping got the beds made and towels replaced but I killed about 10 flies in the first 15 minutes. The staff needs to be trained a bit more on professionalism. Everyone we spoke to seemed brash and a bit annoyed when we had questions. I witnessed a front desk employee use a few choice words while trying to get the desk printer to work. Not a bad place in general, but for the money they need to step it up.

Nothing for breakfast, 2 beds but only 1 coffee cup, 1 cup coffee maker, 1 packet of coffee for multiple, wall paper peeling, doesnt even have a microwave in the room, costs a fortune to use the resorts pool and even have to pay to watch some use it. Find a super 8 or something less expensive...you dont need to stay here to use the water park...

My fraternity went here for a formal. Their service was absolutely amazing and they were able to accommodate 75 people on a relatively short notice. The food was amazing and well definitely be going back!

The water park tickets included in the room rate was a great deal. We had fun on the water slides and the mini golf across the street was nice. Our suite was a little smaller than I expected and probably could use a refresh. It was clean and the beds were comfortable and overall we had a very good weekend in Storm Lake.

This is a great place for families with kids of all ages. Indoor and outdoor water parks are a blast! Be sure to check hours and details of room packages, to get the best deal for what you want. If you stay one night, you get two full days of swimming, which is a great deal. Highly recommended!

Fun place to take the kids on a rainy or cold day and enjoy a beer or just relax in the pool. Super affordable and almost as much fun as Great Wolf Lodge! Will definitely go back.

I went there for a catered Thanksgiving meal. Everything was excellent. Food was very good and the service was attentive. Great experience.

Great waterpark! The staff was very friendly. Rooms were clean and the water park was not over crowded. The restaurant is out of this world! The steak was one of the best I have ever had! Nachos and tacos were great too! Keep up the amazing work!

We got a room on a Saturday along with indoor water park passes. We went swimming when the pool opened, at 10am. We didn’t realize you can’t even get into your room until 4pm so we had crabby kids that couldn’t nap, and had to drag all of our bags into the pool area to get our swimming gear out. Inconvenient. When I asked the girl at the front desk if we could get in earlier she was very rude. Then you have to check out at 11am so if you want to swim you have to take all of your bags back down to the pool. No point in even really booking a room if you’re going to swim. Our room was over $200. It wasn’t anything like it was pictured. Our “balcony” was literally on the room. Very noisy rooms. Cheap furniture in the rooms and the beds are pretty hard. If you want to use tubes for the slides, good luck, there’s only two double tubes. It’s just not worth the price, at all.
