The park is free, plenty of parking and some great views. Why there wasn’t more people I don’t know. It wasn’t that easy to find, but well hidden away so you feel like your away from the world. Great place to go and have a lunch and a nice small walk.

The park was clean and not so crowded. Beautiful trees and view. The manager was also very nice and helped my mom go to the lighthouse with a ride.

Stony Point State Park is an excellent, if small, state park. Its not difficult to enjoy everything SPSP has to offer in a day, although the quality and quantity of programming will likely more than justify a return visit. If you enjoy both vistas and history (especially Revolutionary War history), you should check out this park.

It was great talking with the great people and historians that came out there on an extremely hot day July 14 2018. I listened and learned so much - its so interesting. The guns fired were loud and kids enjoyed that. Nice views of the river.

Not a well known place, but a great secret in Rockland. Just off main st. in stony pt, you drive a mile or so down a residential street which ends with driving over a little single lane wooden bridge and you will see a large stone entrance thats the entrance to the park. Drive through and to the right is a big parking lot. From here you will now have to walk up a big hill, maybe 1/6th of mile. Once up you will find a beautiful park with vista views of the hudson river, a nice little museum, a reenactment camp ( hopefully they will make colonial food for u to try) & lots of places to picnic.

Amazing vistas and very knowledgeable narratives that are displayed throughout. As a documentarian, traveling to historic areas is my main reason for travel and Stony Point was a very pleasant trip with so much to take in a appreciate. Stony Point was occupied by names such as John Andre as well as Mad Anthony Wayne... Great history and area!

Even with this listed as a State Park when it actually is the Stony Point Battlefield Historic site still a great place to visit. It is hidden down a residential street so even with most locals knowing about it, it is not often busy. Lots of things to see an do at this little gem. I have being coming here for as long as I can remember.

The phrase life-changing does not even begin to describe the way I was touched by Stony Point State Park. Prepare to go on a journey through time to explore the break up of Pangea. Diabase, Manhattan Schist, and Arkose grace the majestic hills of this must-go destination. This is a great place for taking panoramic pictures and explore the Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant. You can also see a great re-creation of a Revolutionary War base. Spear lovers will enjoy all the old spears hidden through out the mountain. So load up your school van and pack your lunch and chisel and prepare to get rocked!PS be careful of the private property!
