Great venue for MD graduation!

Always a great show. We usually take our 9 year old granddaughter and she loves the different performances. We saw Nutcracker Ballet, an EXCEPTIONAL show.

The theaters on the first floor of the theater side are great for all of the plays that happen there (done almost completely by students).

Great family destination. Not a bad seat in either performance hall. Friday double features a real treat. Visit the art gallery whenever possible. Free evening and weekend parking. While there, stop in next door and visit the Wang Center. Ever-changing exhibits, and very good food served cafeteria style at Jasmines (sp?).

Staller Center offers both fine films as well as live entertainment. You may find an acrobatic circus troupe performing for both young and old on one occasion. Perhaps, to your delight, you will listen to fine classical music performed by graduate students, the finest offerings east of Manhattan. My preference for the past seven years are the film festivals which some may claim rivals Cannes. My sweetheart and I are among the many regular patrons who support the Arts here at SUNY Stony Brook. This theater is a hidden gem.

Roomy, great for outdoor events like outside viewings. A lot of seats with good room and great sound.

Great space for the performing and visual arts too ... They have the Metropolitan Opera Streaming, and they show movies once in a while. It has a recital space, a cabaret studio, and a main stage for concerts, ballet, opera productions and Broadway shows.

They have a big theatre where any seat has a clear view of the stage.

The theater is comfortable.The screen is big and the programming is excellent.

Just finished another great Stony Brook Film Festival at the Staller Center. Great movies, great theater and incredible staff. The Staller Center has a full array of events and performances. Put it on your To Do list to enjoy this Hidden Gem!

Our son spent 8 years here working on Masters and Doctorate degrees. It is a great facility.

It was essy to find... accommodating to my husband who needs an elevator and the acoustics were phenomenal! We enjoyed the Soweto Gospel show and were very blessed!

Great place to go to if you like theater, opera, student orchestra performances, movies and musical performers. Its inexpensive and you save by not having to drive to the city and find & pay for parking. Well worth it. Check out their website.

Great variety of culturally diverse shows. Frequent problems with the sound system cost them a star, however. Parking is NOT 15 minutes away as another reviewer reported, there is plenty of parking within a 1 or 2 minute walk.

This venue offers a wide variety of performances. Symphony orchestra, jazz, dance, popular music, film festivals, lectures and on and on.

Great concerts and movies for the public, but seating and acoustics are not so great. Either come very early and sit way down front, or come late and sit at the very top. There is a dead zone in the very large middle seating - the sound can be muddy and filled with half-echoes.April 2018: Recital Hall is smaller and more intimate and much more comfortable! Acoustics are great, too, thankfully.

We went to see an opera here and had a wonderful time. The theater is small so every seat is a good seat. Pretty building, pretty theater and ticket prices are very reasonable.

Parking is a minimum 15 minute walk from the hall. If you go there, you should know this. The hall is wonderful, but it IS on a college campus. NO PARKING. Oh, and the staff was very unknowledgeable. No kidding. My entire party thought so.

Was here for the Drum Heart show. A very nice small theater experience. Facilities are beautiful. Staff friendly.

Attended opening night if the 22nd annual film festival. Saw a wonderful movie and expect to see many more during the next 20 days. Well organized program.

We went to see Heriditary movie there, $10 on a Friday night in october 2018. Cozy seats, they rarely showcase horror movies there they explained while seated. It wasnt scary to my btw but not staller centers fault of course. I had my school ID from 30 years ago to jokingly show the ticket person but she was unamused (my alma mater) . There was a candy counter and coffee was available which I have never had, true story. Btw, Heriditary, not so true, hah. I would go back to staller center for another event, for the record.
