Roman Martin,This review is of later than when you wrote yours, and I know that Rhonda is strict, but thats because she is an instructor, and if you go anywhere else, overly nice instructors cant do much when it comes to actually getting their students to remember choreo. If your child is actually being verbally beaten down, bullied, and spoken to cruelly, have you ever even tried talking to Rhonda and the other ladies there? I was a student of Rhondas in 2016, whereas your review is in 2012, and Rhonda never spoke to us in a way that you described. She would chastise us from time to time if we misremembered, but that was always when performance was coming up. Maybe when you write a review you shouldnt overreact.
We enrolled our child and overlooked the fact that the ladies running the place were rude, short tempered, crass, unprofressional and lacked tact. We rode the dance wave for several years before we finally said enough is enough! We are in no way stage parents nor do we have any desire in our child becoming the next child star but we do know that this is NOT the way a dance studio should function! Unfortunately the lesson came at the cost of our child being bullied, verbally beaten down, emotionally spent, and spoken to in a way no adult should ever speak to a child. When I would take our child to class, we would walk in, sit in the looby, and wait for Rhonda to usher the students in to class. Once they were settled, she would close the door and most...if not all...the parents(including myself) would leave and return an hour later. I was under the impression that my child was ok and in the hands of a trusting, capable adult. Boy was I wrong! Little did I know just how much was really going on behind those closed doors. Our child finally let us know exactly what was going on and just how terribly Rhonda spoke to a number of the students in the class(es). I started to hang back and instead of leaving the studio during the class times, I sat in the lobby and low and behold I witnessed for myself the ugliness of Rhondas sharp tongue. We never returned! While she does her job of teaching the students the art of dance, she crushes their self esteem in the process. Steer clear of this place! There are plenty of reputable dance studios in the city...my advice to you, seek them out!
I think this place is amazing Ive been going there for about 4 years and I love it someone had said they had pushed her kid and her child was very upset well I know for sure SSPA would never ever treat a child in such a way
