Excellent stay camping here!50amp service, small campground yet such spacious spots, heavily shaded with mature trees, just loved the peacefulness.Lake is within walking distance. All the stores you could ever want are just a few miles away in town, with nice biking and hiking trails. All the children in every spot of this campground had so much fun, loved hearing the children living life to its fullest! They patrol frequently, it’s clean and well kept at great prices too.No water or sewer on individual sites so make sure you fill up your water in the front of the campground.Sewer dumping station is on property.
This is a great little park. For those that are RVers, every site has 50, 30, and 20 amp electric hook ups. And all of the sites are pretty large and easy to back into. Ive seen several 30 plus rigs here and some 5th wheel rigs that are a bit longer. Water fill and dump station are included with site cost. There are showers and flush toilets available during the warmer months. When it gets colder there are pit toilets available. The knock down of one star is due to the firewood. The price is reasonable ($5/rack), but be prepared to fight to get your wood going. I use fire starters that burn for 20 minutes. Even with that and very small pieces it would not stay lit without being fanned. If the pie was larger than my thumb, forget it! There is a ban in bringing firewood in from outside of a certain radius of the park. We were here just over a weekend, so I never checked into the rule. However, if your plan is to cook over the fire, be prepared to wait.
Love camping here. We do camp during the week so not a ton of people.
Great sites, plenty of room on them, they are separated by woods so you feel like you are alone yet know people are there, bathrooms are always clean, shower water is always hot. Swimming is a short drive or walk, (about a block from the campground), to a small sandy beach.
This looks like a very nice park, from what we could see. We got there too late in the day (lost our sunlight) to really explore it. Plenty of picnic tables and grills, shelters including at least one that was an enclosed building, swimming, fishing, kayaking, bathrooms, lots of parking, a playground area, and a nice small bridge (good for pictures). Several Pokestops and gyms in the park and surrounding area for Go players, but we had a pretty weak signal there. They dont allow dogs (which seems odd), so keep that in mind when planning to visit. The water was very still, and made for some really nice reflective autumn shots.
I take bike ride breaks nice & quiet nature live
Great park and shelter. Have had family gatherings for reunions and anniversary parties here. There is a small kitchen, nice counters for serving food, tables & chairs inside and picnic tables outside. Bathrooms have running water and are clean. Fun playground and area for games (We had badminton, bean bags, and croquet). There is a swimming beach across the street and area for fishing.
Beautiful view, kid friendly beach and lots of space:)
Nice & relaxing not to busy the park
Has a great little swim area.
Nice quiet family older folks, our first time here. We have a new rv trailer and are looking forward to doing more traveling. we will be back.
Beautiful park and camping spot.
Great place to spend the day. Swimming fishing cooking outAnd its free. Except for camping witch is inexpensive. And it has a boat landing..
Beautiful park, areas to fish and picnic. Nice place to kayak. Big disappointment that they do not allow dogs...really?!!!
Very Pretty
Nice beach and campground
Nice county park with reasonably priced camping. We were mainly here for the camping, so didnt experience some of the other great things that were offered, like boating, the nature center, or the canoeing. The site we picked was roomy and nice. Self service check in was easy. It was a fairly quiet campground. We stayed for two nights and will be back again in the future.
Great place to kayak
Nice campground, lots of space between sites. Mosquitoes are easily tamed :-)
Beautiful scenery and lake, campground is well kept and quiet, campground staff are superb!
Nice country park.
The entrance to the park was hard to find but the park is nice
Great place to put kiyaks in..
The walk-in sites are large, clean, beautiful, and private. Its so amazing to get up in the morning and slide the kayaks in the morning right from the camp site. All areas of the park are fantastic and the staff were nice friendly and helpful. We will definitely be going back.
Did not go into camping area. The water front was rustic, not clean looking. The shelters were nice. Good tables, floor, grills. The water was muddy and fish were not edible on my opinion. Beach area was not very clean.
A great location to hold a family reunion. Also a camp site along the river where a friend hosts an annual party is across the street from the building We use for the reunion. Not far from town yet it feels like You are far away from the rest of the World...
It was okay stay there for a week and the bathrooms got a little gross but overall it was pretty good family-oriented place the beach wasnt that far away from the campground
Great walk in campsite. Friendly camp host who were a joy to talk with. They provided info about the area. Low spots in the camp would cause issues when it rains. Nice view of the lake and great prices!
Nice park but maintenance tends to be unreliable. Expect a fair bit of brush around with rarely taken care of bathrooms.
This is a beautiful campground and picnic spot located on a small reservoir of the Plover River. Lots of trees and quite nice restrooms.
The park itself is ok, facilities are good, fitness trail-hiking a fail. Trails not kept up, trees down in path, not good at all.
Nice park and camp grounds near Stevens Point. Very clean bathrooms and showers. Only downside is that its right next to highway 66, so you hear some of the traffic, but its not that bad.
Good pits, bit long, worked my arm a bit much... Great pure sand!
Love campong here, its a yearly tradition. Clean quite sites, restroom and showers are ok too.
Had many family outings here. Great spot to rent in the summer when everyone wont fit at your house.
Great place to have a nice dip in the water, walk by the shore line, and do some shore fishing. (Boat landing available)
Nice park & campground. Close to town.
I guess a park should have lakeside or something to get a 5-star rating. That being said, this is a vary pleasant little place. Im just over-nighting, this is a good stop-over. Some traffic noise, its only 100 yds or so from the highway, but not bad. Very shady. If Im in the neighborhood Id stop again.
Beautiful and peaceful lake surrounded with large Pinus strobus, Tsuga canadensis and many Quercus sp.
Beautiful park on the river with car and walk in campsites.
Clean and well manicured grounds.
Nice beach!
So beautiful
Great for water activities.
