For years I thought this place was only a Par 3. Was I wrong. This is a local course that is (unfortunately) over looked for farther out places. The dam Clinton River runs through this place. Each and every hole has it nuances. I guarentee you wont be dissapointed and you know what... The cart girls and the clubhouse aint too bad either.
Pace of play was good, not too much trouble off the tees, fairways were nice and wide. Easy to find balls in the rough but the greens were just OK because no one knows how to repair a pitch mark.
Not that bad of a golf course some tee boxes are beat up whole others are not. One of the best starters work there. It’s a good place to golf will go there again.
Never golfed here after all these years. I was very pleased with the course.Had a nice day.
Nice friendly people. We went for twilight golf. Course was in good shape. I would go back again. The course itself is not like greystone. But it was better than fern Hill. The only knock I had was that twilight rates were with cart only. I wanted to walk but if I am paying for the cart then I am taking the cart.
Should remain open during the hours listed or change your hours listed. Showed up at 711 PM, after a half hour drive to be told sorry closed by the young female employee locking the door. Beautiful day out and denied golf. Unreal. States open till 730. Walk on par 3 course.
I only play thier par 3 course it was my first time at a course and it was pretty good. I would go again.
Seems to always have a decent time for us to golf ... friendly staff ... some holes pretty challenging
Best golf experience in S.E. Michigan.Paul and staff are the greatest.
Golf course is in great shape! Friendly staff and beverage cart came around frequently. Although they were busy appreciate them keeping up pace. Will be back soon.
Great old style course, amazing staff and bar. Nice little par 3 nine is great for a warm up
Great day of golfThe course is in great shape with some challenging holesWill be back!
Fun day out, beware the back 9 is under water but the course has several pumps going and trying to dry out.Also...No beer being sold because of Govenor half-wit order in place. Bring your own
The worst experience ever at a golf club! The Tees where triple booked and unorganized. I can only assume the club manager had no idea how to manage a golf club. We showed up early and had to wait for the group in front of us to move before we could play. After taking 2 practice swings an older gentlemen, assuming its the club manager, started yelling at me from about 30 yards away that I need to leave the course or move to the par 3 course because my 2 practice swings took to much time. What should of been a relaxing and fun time golfing ended up turning into an unprofessional and rude experience for me and my group. We will never return and will let everyone we know about how they handle paying customers.
Excellent golf course to have fun
First time golfing at this course. Excellent course
Great club to golf at! Staff is friendly, course is nice, ill be back!
Fun challenging and crispy clean golf course.
We had a great time.
Hurrying everyone the whole time. Too many people all trying to go at the same time.
Ive been to this golf club many times. Now today was my first time out golfing in prolly like 15 years, no joke. But they had very nice fairways as well as greens. They got some forestry going on through some if not all holes. Nothing too bad though, nothing you cant easily play through. It might make your score a little higher but...
Solid course for the money. They keep it nice.
Very friendly staff nice course
Its been a favorite of mine, but they have a new course manager and it seems a little better than before. Rough isnt so deep, and greens in better condition. They still need to trim up the trees to not lay on the ground and hide the ball.
Too many ppl around twilight time
Very friendly staff at this facility. Tee boxes could use some seed and H2O.
We played today the manager Paul Duda double booked the course it took 3 hours and 20 minutes to play 9 holes .. guess hes trying to make up for the money he lost during the Covid 19 break in one day !
The Par 3 is excellent. Id recommend it for anyone looking to start playing golf.
Great course. Wide open fairways lined by mature trees. Greens are well kept. Nice place to get away
Pace of play was slow, and no Rangers on the course.
Not sure if I have found the right one cause I was looking for Rambler. Anyways the one I located in the past and was invited to was a small cource in comparison. Still a fun one though. Hope to return there or any other cause I would like to try the carts and caddys out. This short distances for par suit me best.
Decent par 3. If youre able to get a full 18 in without getting wet then youve had a good day. There always seems to be somewhere on the course thats under water
Always a pleasant round of golf staff goes way above par!
Played the par 3 course. It is good for practice or a novice and was in pretty good shape .
My league is here. The course offers a good challenge and the customer service is good. The course is not the best maintained, but it’s still a fun track. They also have a Par 3 course.
Greens and faurways are in good shape. Not much standing water. Dont have ball washers out yet.
Great old school course a little slow play but still good layout
Good course. And the cart girl showed up plenty of times.
Well kept course!
We thought the staff was very friendly and professional. The course was in great condition and gave just the right amount of challenge! This was our first visit and we will definitely be back!
After all that rain this spring, course was in good shape.
Great course! Very tricky greens...a true test of your putting skills!
Staff is very friendly.
Above average golf course
Would have given five if there was hand sanitizer in the porta potties.
Nice course
We always enjoy playing here!
AWESOME course, nice restaurant and bar.
I only played golf here one time and it was a scramble. I had fun and rhat is ehy I am giving it 4 stars. Google keeps bugging me to write a review because it thinks I am always there. Well I am not. I live nearby, hopefully this will stop Google from asking me how Ramler Gol Club is..
Great place love to golf here
Love this place
The staff was very friendly. Had lunch it was perfect and made exactly how I asked for it. Will definitely be coming back
Great course. Great price
Good time
This old 18 hole golf course is in great shape and a great golf value. There are 3 holes that carry over the Clinton River which adds an additional challenge. The employees welcome you from the time you arrive all the way through a great meal prepared by Chef Dawn.
When the course is DRY, its a fun course. good course for seniors to play ($21 for 9 and $26 for 18) w/o cart.
Nice very beautiful
Had a great time! Club is really nice, great staff. 6/17/18 - we stopped in the restaurant today for a bite and had a fantastic burger and quesadilla appetizer staff was extremely attentive (thanks Angela and Carl!)!
Good course fair price. Some tough holes. Thick rough. Some easy.
Awesome place! Was very kind to our high school golf team!
My review is strictly about the Par 3, 9 hole course offered here at Rammler. A well maintained par 3, with generous wide open fairways that are welcoming for beginner, young, or elderly players. There arent a lot of courses in the area that offer such well kept greens for par 3s. Rammlers par 3 would be an excellent choice for your first time golfing, or for kids learning to play. The green fees are cheap, and because the par 3 is overshadowed by their 18 hole course, there normally isnt a wait time. The par 3 is a walk on course, so tee times are not offered.
Course is in great shape, awesome beer cart girls and the food is pretty great too. They have daily specials and so far have not been disappointed for our Tuesday league.
It looks like a golf course from the outside
Reasonably priced with friendly staff.
Okay except for canoers sitting in front of hold 1 and 10
Overall is not bad for the price, but need better courtesy from those rangers. First bad impression received from those guys who provided the key to golf cart. Give the job to people who really need jobs. Service is very important to compete in this economy.
Nice course enjoyed golfing there i will go back
Nice golf course greens could use some work
Nice place but dont go on a womans leg day
Fun par 3 for beginners to learn on
Great time.nice weather good people
What more needs to be said other than a true classic in both age and play. Growing up on the east side, Rammler G. C. was one of the 5 courses I learned the game on. From the very well maintained fairways to the devilishly subtle greens Rammler is a must play for those wanting an enjoyable yet challenging round. Lets not forget those youngsters or anyone wanting to hone their short game because they also have a 9 hole executive course that is a nice way to spend some time with the kids/family/friends. Be sure and visit the old school style clubhouse. My go-to order is their Club Sandwich. I challenge you to find one better--but any choice off their entire menu is a solid pick. Now for what Rammler lacks. There is no driving range or chipping around the practice green so be forewarned. So if youre looking for a course to spend a few quality hours away, be sure and give this place try.
Had a great time!
Played Rammler today, excellent condition and the the greens were true, no break. Cant make a straight putt. Hay Paul.
Staff is friendly. Nice, short course to hone your irons game.
Courses in great shape and lots of fun to play.
Few no. of bunker, wide fairway, optimized to biginner. Good condition in similar grade
I cant believe that this course has the rating that it does... The only thing that was a slightly redeeming quality about this track was the golf shop staff. They were very friendly and helpful. I cant say the same for the maintenance crew that seemed completely oblivious to the fact that people may be trying to play golf ON A GOLF COURSE!The rest of the experience was just as HORRIBLE as the maintenance crew!!! This course is priced at about the same level as other courses in the area that are way better in quality and layout. I love it when a course can offer a challenge, but the challenge should come from how a hole is designed or how a green is contoured not trying to find a flat spot on the tee box so that you can tee off. The tee boxes were fairly annoying (it takes a lot for me to mention that but some of them were just ridiculously bad) but the major disappointment was the fact that several holes had burned out fairways and giant dead spots! There were probably 7 holes on the course that had areas roped off because they were completely disgusting. Finally, the greens didnt even come close to running true and also had several dead/burned out spots on them. It was actually tough to 2 putt from 15 feet because I never had any clue what my ball was going to do when I hit my putt.My final gripe is that I played the back tees and the card was not even close as far as yardages go. I can understand being off by 5-10 yards here and there, but there were several holes that were off by 50-100 yards. Come on people! If you are a serious golfer, do yourself a favor and spend your time and money elsewhere. This appears to be a course that would rather cater to the people that just want to slam a few beers and hack a ball around than the people that want a good golf experience.Spend the same amount of money at some of the other choices in the area and get a lot more return on your investment.
Not bad for a public course. Greens need lots of work though.
Had a good time on this old favorite of mine. Greens were consistent.
Love the par 3 course for a quick short game workout, and the main 18 is a great, challenging course as well
Its got everything I need for an enjoyable round of golf.
Very friendly staff. Course is in need of clean up of branch debris and overgrown areas, some of the cart paths are too bumpy. But still a good overall course.
I have been very loyal to this golf course by doing the twilight golf every week and I love the par 3 as well. However, I was very disappointed when I left my phone in the cart one day. I went back, not 5 minutes later and the carts were already locked up, the guys working said I will need to come back in the morning. I was not happy about this, how do they not have a key or were they just too lazy to open the door for me to grab my phone? I knew exactly what cart I was in and everything. So I went to the bar because there were people still in there. I got the same thing, I would have to come back in the morning. I just dont get why nobody had a key to let me grab my phone and I felt the workers were unnecessarily rude to me. I did go back in the morning and my phone was waiting for me but it was enough to make me find a new course to play.
Good value, lots of fun
Could be really nice just tough greens cant stop/spin the ball like a rock maple lanes greens on this course would be great
Local gem in the Sterling Heights area. Great old scho course.
Excellent outing course
Nice course design. VERY slow pace of play. This is the most annoying thing for me that can single handedly ruin a day of golfing and my rating of a golf course. Food was ok, clubhouse is very old and could use some renovating, and starter disappears frequently. Price would be fair if they didnt over book tee times, but they do and this makes the price seem way too high by like double. Dont plan on coming back unless its a last option type deal. FYI, Ive been here 3 times and its been slow each time. Way more so than any other course Ive played.
Terrible greens. like putting on thick shag carpets with lots of holes
Nice course and few in sterling Heights area
Good golf course. The staff has worked hard to make it golfer friendly.
Awesome!! Like always! Beer cart girls are the best around!
Nice layout Nice price not overpacked
Played Rammler this past Friday and was pleased. While some areas on the course are in need of repair overall its a nice little course with good rates. Staff was very friendly.
