I love this course. It has a challenging layout. The greens are and have been fabulous. Yes, the tee boxes need some help but otherwise the course is in great shape. The superintendent Michael Sullivan and his team have been doing a super job. And then there is the Zodys 19th Hole Bar and Restaurant for great food and drinks.
Enjoyed the blind challenges due to the forestry, trees, and differing slopes on this course.
Nice course well kept and helpful staff. Wish I could have played better!
Course is in unbelievable shape. The greens are nice and quick. Outdoor seating with great food. Excellent afternoon
Good course all around but the greens could be faster
Poor course signage. Wrong whole numbers posted on some granite markers.
I always enjoy playing the Heights. The course is not as nice as it used to be. Many burnt-out areas in Fairways in around approaches to Greens. Hope it mends well for late summer early fall play.
The course is in great shape!
Nice municipal course near Stamford/Riverside. Honestly there are some negatives here, but on balance, there are a few positives as well.Negatives/Improvements:Fairways. Some of them are really not in great condition - bumps, strange lies etc.Cart Paths: Some need major improvement. e.g hole 11 cart path on the right abruptly dies away and theres a major bump right there - Ive had a couple of riders hurt their back. I dont expect a super smooth surface, but these ones are too pothole ridden.Hole 10&11: These used to be the old 17&18. I get why theyve made the change, but boy the cart traffic pattern it creates is awkward at best - sometimes dangerous (because people can be silly riding on the left side of the path on blind turns - not the courses fault, but they should try to do something to ensure its safer)Tee Boxes: Theyre improving, but still more than a few which arent level.Positives: Awesome staff. Theyre friendly and helpful and generally manage to keep the pace of play, while being tolerant - quite a few beginners play here. I appreciate this because as a beginner, this is where I always went. ( Im comparing this to Sterling Farms).Course design: Its not unreasonably challenging and yet manages to keep you engaged. I guess thats another reason Id say this is one of the more beginner friendly courses out there. On the whole, Id say this is a good course for beginners. A few issues Id like to see them fix. If it was about $10 cheaper for the 18, Id say it is fantastic value for money!
I went on a rainy Monday and played with no wait. Course is in decent shape, staff is friendly, and the prices is reasonable. This is a no frills course in terms of locker rooms, and other amenities. There is a restaurant on the premises that Ive heard good things about, but I didnt have a chance to check it out. I will definitely be back in the spring to play, if not sooner.
Friendly staff and yummy food. It was fun to watch golfers while eating very good food.
Great fun playing in the snow
Very good public golf course. Weve been playing here for many times. The staff is very nice except Paul! Be aware of him!Something very unpleasant happened when we played a 18-hole last week. We paid for 18-hole and cashier told me that we need to return the cart at 7:00 pm. Everything was fine, we enjoyed the game and good weather. But we met ranger Paul on the course. He saw our 18-hole sign on the cart and pushed us to return it at 6:45 pm. We said alright we will do it, although the time should be 7 pm. But since we normally play fast and should be no problem. Even if we couldnt finish, we can always walk. However, at around 6:15 pm, at hole 15 or 16, he chased us up and yelled at us VERY RUDELY to return the cart and skip the rest of the holes. We were not happy but still kept polite and said we will return it on time, no problem, just leave us alone and let us play the game. Then he started to swear and ask us just do whatever he said to return the cart and skip the holes! Its ridiculous!!! Never met any other staff at any golf course! Its not over yet. In the end, we still returned the cart at 6:45 pm and figured maybe Paul is experiencing something in his life. We need to show some respect to senior people. So we parked the cart and tried to speak to Paul about how we felt and hope it wont happen next time. Then all of sudden he walked toward me, raised his voice and arm and intimidated to attack me! We said we will definitely report you. Then he started to yell and swear, EXTREMELY RUDE. Shame on him! Is this a golf course or a place where he can do whatever he wants like bullying players???Unbelievable!!!And we chatted with other players and some of them said they had some issues with him before.Hope the owner or the manager can seriously take care of this matter. Its definitely horrible for this golf courses reputation. It never ever happened at any other golf course before!
They treat you like family. Always willing to please and squeeze you in whenever possible. Plus the restaurant is a nice place to hang out. Just a real cozy place to play and is like a second home.
Usually love the course but it was in real rough shape when I played, worse Ive ever seen it, tee boxes were uneven with crabgrass. Probably wont play here again this year.
Wi-Fi did not work
Good course for the price but the better public golf course in Stamford is sterling farms.
The course is fine but the tee boxes are an absolute disaster.
Good public course with decent prices.
Needs some serious upgrades to be worth the price. Head up the road to Sterling Instead.
Always a great meal!
Best greens
Field need more work,
Beautiful place
Food is always acceptable.
Ok golf course average I would say
