I and my now wife planned our wedding here. Gina Wolf was so helpful as to be honest I had no idea what I was supposed to do. All of the guest could not help but say how beautiful the garden was. When the sun is setting it creates a perfect lighting for the garden, you feel like you are getting married in a high class closed in garden(because you are). I highly recommend this venue if you are wanting to get married.
A perfect place to bring your sweetheart as a part of date night. Art is as important as fossilized dinosaur museums, in that it tells a story of our planet and those who inhabited it. If a far distant civilization could learn something about who we are or were, preserved art pieces tell our story. A human story. Come here and bring a couple bucks to donate if your feeling generous.
Wonderful always changing art exhibits in a beautiful historic building. Their knowledgeable staff are always thinking of ways to serve the community. Large collection of beautiful art and exhibits of current works all beautifully presented.
Who knew there was such a great art museum tucked away in Springville?! Even better, entry is free (they accept pressure free donations). The building itself is a work of art, with beautifully diverse rooms, attractive tile, and remarkable acoustics.Being that this is Utah, you’re going to see a lot of religious influences in the art pieces on display. It’s not off-putting, per se, but after awhile I can only take so many metaphors on light and darkness, and all the Jesus paintings start to look the same. More interesting, in my opinion, were the pieces that push the boundaries of comfort and controversy, but to each their own.Overall the experience was worthwhile and positive. Would come again.
The art show was very interesting. Good verity of styles and mediums in the show.
A lovely place to spend time with wonderful original art.
Love this museum and everyone who works here is friendly and well informed about art
A great collection of Utah and American art, as well as a unique collection of Russian art from the Soviet Era. Exhibitions are well done and accessible to all age groups and audiences through easy-to-read gallery guides and labels that encourage you to ask questions and connect with the art. The building itself is absolutely stunning as well, built in a Spanish Colonial style with warm stucco walls, beautiful red and brown tiled floors, dark wood, brass chandeliers, and archways. The sculpture garden is also quite beautiful and serene. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. Exhibitions change frequently--theres something new to see at least every three months, so no two visits are ever the same! There are also plenty of spaces throughout the museum with interactive art experiences and activities for children, and the museum hosts lots of community and family programs and activities throughout the year. Truly a beautiful place, an incredible experience for all ages, and well worth the visit.
Really pretty Italian sculpture garden, good for wedding and reception. The covered walkway is pretty
The museum is built 1937, it is Originated from springville high school collection donated by two well known local artists. Now it has many Soviet Union Oil paintings and some pretty good arts.
They display different exhibits 4 times a year on the main floor and 2 times a year on the 2nd floor. Its free and you count on having a good time looking at amazing artists of all kinds. This last week it was quilts.
Amazing Art and rich history! Beautiful to go as a family or date night. Something of fun and great learning experience for everyone! Its also available to rent for family get togethers, meetings and weddings. Perfect for Class field trips andChurch groups. True Treasure found in the quaint town of Springville.
Lovely atmosphere. We went during the display of all the high school students at and it was fantastic to see so the talent of these young people. It feels intimate and personal but its quite big. We loved it.
A variety of beautiful art. Very surprising and free!
How do I write this without sounding biased (I’ve grown up in Springville)? I’ve seen a lot of Art Museums across the country and I still feel proud about this one. Beautiful building, very friendly staff, and an excellent collection of Russian Art! If you are also looking for examples of Utah artists, or doing research this is the best place to look. I would recommend visiting around Christmas time. They also have a pretty nice gift shop where you can get really great books or posters. It’s never really crowded (except around Art City Days) and Sunday afternoons are always a good time to go to spend one-on-one time with the Art.
I love to come here because the building itself is literally art. Their are hallways, staircases and it winds all around. The artwork is magnificent and the staff and so helpful. Plus they have this cute kids area downstairs that kids and read, color and even play dress up!!
I actually organized a YSA stake event here for Halloween 2019. I was surprised at how affordable the venue is for how much space they give you. If you’re wanting to plan a reception or classy party, Gina is pretty great to work with! Also the local art that they have is awesome! And it’s free admission! Go for a visit!
Gorgeous building and the exhibits are marvelous. I love that interior plaza space. I only had an hour to visit but I saw a ton of wonderful art. I didn’t get to everything and I’m excited to come back.
SMA is a gem! Great permanent collection, plus interesting rotating exhibits. Make sure and visit during the annual spring salon. Dont forget to visit the sculpture garden as well.
Love place.
Beautiful art set inside of a beautiful building. And the staff are very friendly!
We had a good time here seeing all the art but right now with covid we did not get to color on the giant chalkboard in the kids section which was the reason for our trip cant wait for it to open all the way again
Cool place to go, has a lot of history thats fun to see
This museum is a gem. They have great exhibits, in a nice architecture, events that happen on a regular basis, and you can rent for weddings and receptions with a beautiful sculpture garden in the back. I love their free Sunday concert series, its great.Plus, its free. Just make sure you recognize the odd hours! Wednesdays they are open till 9.
Absolutely outstanding! Middle floor is mostly religious art and the top floor is mostly historical art. The outside sculpture garden is closed during fall and winter. Disappointing but understandable. Best of all its completely free. Donations are always welcome. I would highly recommend.
Gorgeous antique building. Beautiful art. Helpful tour guides. What more can you ask for?
Magnificent art here! It was a joy to see.
A very nice museum to visit they have a lot of different and unique forms of art. They also A fountain that recycles the water it uses to turn the gears. If you desire to have a reception or other gathering they have facilities for those. Parking however is somewhat limited there is a parking lot there but it is a very small parking lot and is shared with the elementary school next door
I went to attend a wedding reception. It was a wonderful venue. Aside from the fact that it was an upstairs venue (which would make hauling decorations up a floor a little challenging -- note: there is an elevator), the only complaint I have about it is that we werent allowed to peruse any of the paintings and exhibits. That being said, from brief opportunity I had to view the artwork on the walls of the rooms where we were permitted, I developed a strong desire to return during the museums regular hours to view all their collections. To my eyes, this cute building excelled at being both a venue and a museum, I can recommend it for either purpose without reservation.
Friendly staff, beautiful exhibits
The most beautiful museum I’ve ever been to. The layout is perfect, and can be easily customized to fit different pieces. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and informed on the pieces they shared, and overall an excellent experience.
We had our son’s wedding reception here, the garden was a perfect setting for a beautiful evening .
So lucky to have such a nice facility right here in Springville! Large comfortable building which flows nicely and allows for several groups to be touring simultaneously without disruption.
The museum had an art competition. My sons entry made it and we went to see it on display. We looked at all the rest of the entries. Wow! What talent! It was amazing!
We absolutely loved the Springville Art Museum as a location for our bridal pictures. We love to come back and remember the places where we took those special pictures. We called ahead and were able to come before opening time so that we didnt have to worry about other people. They have a dressing room in the basement, so I didnt have to wear my wedding dress outside,
We love our local Art Museum. They have great activities and their exhibits are wonderful. Also a great place to have your wedding!
This place rocks. Good collection, classy decoration and design, sensible layout, and its always tastefully curated. If the people at the museum see this, dont be afraid to offer me a job. I have a degree in Art and Design and Im a powerful worker. Its an honest review though.
I came here during the student art show. Its such a beautiful museum. The student exhibit was exceptional and they have a great permanent collection as well.
Wonderful Museum. Excellent collection.
There is a wide variety of Art! I love that there are lots of Utah Artists shown here! And I love the traditional quilts! Beautiful!
Amazing little gem. Beautiful art work, in a stunning environment. I was truly impressed.
Great place to host a party.
Gorgeous building and very beautiful art.
Amazing museum and the best museum director.
We love the quiet beauty of this museum. The building itself is cool and the art is enjoyable. We often seem to go during the quilt show and it is always impressive! It is a good starter museum for kids plus there is a kids space and sometimes hands on activities.
Five stars for the Guppy Group program (ages 1-4) every month with a different theme exploring art, music, play, storytelling, and crafts! Wonderful small exhibits featuring local talent and even a fun kid area in the basement. Lovely family friendly atmosphere!
They have a lot of fun activities for kids. The art is pretty great especially considering how small Springville is. Its also free, so you cant lose!
We had never been to the Springville Museum of Art before. We had a lovely time going through the museum. We came specifically to see our daughters piece in the High School Art Show. What an amazing thing to see what high school students can do! Such beautiful, gripping, thoughtful, talented young people. An honor to walk through & see it all. Just a lovely museum. I know we will go back in the future!
Tons of exhibits, some change frequently, others are consistently there, and its all free! Theres also a room with tables and chairs for patrons to come use (and it can be booked for events). Theres also a statue garden which I havent even seen yet. Really great if the Springville community!
I was fortunate enough to attend the recital of a group of classical musicians, in one of the halls of this gorgeous museum. Certainly worth multiple visits.
I visit here each time I am in Utah. The Spring Salon is one of my favorites.
What an amazing venue. The Staff are excellent in friendly. Plenty of parking for your event. Absolutely amazing atmosphere. The facilities are perfect for hosting a large gathering. I definitely recommend planning your next reception here. The prices are reasonable. If not cheaper than other places. That dont have anywhere near what they have to offer. Also theres three levels of expose. So worth returning again and again to see all the different art.
We went here for a wedding reception. The couple wanted to wander around and meet their guests so it worked for them. Im not sure it would be set up well for a traditional reception line. After we greeted the couple we walked around and looked at the various paintings and sculptures. I am by no means trained in art so I dont feel qualified to comment on the quality but I enjoyed the exhibits.
Ive been to a few private events here, as well as perused a few exhibits. Im consistantly impressed by both the location and the art. The gardens are stunning, and I love the architecture. Such a pretty little museum.
A great museum. The permanent and rotating collections are worth the visit and making a return visit (and another, and another, and another...) More than worth it. The Soviet pieces are inexplicably moving. The western collection makes one nostalgic irrespective of their background. The current sci-fi exhibit is out of this world.
Excellent place to view great exhibits of Art! It really shows Springvilles grass routes heritage with the nickname of being The Art City. Its a great artistic building that is well utilized for classy events such as weddings. They have beautiful grounds on the outside and various statues. Definitely a recommended place to tour!
The recent (2-3 year ago) change of directors has also created a new community-centric focus and it shows! I used to have a hard time talking my wife into coming to exhibit openings and now, she loves the vibe and has a fun time. Each year I attend several art openings, participate in educational workshops (evening for educators) and other events (music and wedding). I always go away like the museum is like home, inviting. The Museum has dusted off old approaches and embraced a more light-hearted approachability. Their All State High School show is an awesome give back to the committee that is unparalleled among the Museum world. As an artist, the staff is amazing to work with and I also notice their warm interactions with museum goers.
In terms of the museum itself, perfect. I love this place very much. I docked a star cuz the judging on the current high school exhibition was garbage, so many lifeless pieces given awards simply cuz it looked technically well done. Bleh
Cool place for many occasions. Dates, Ward activities, family outings. The museum seems like it is high quality.
Beautiful art, we were lucky enough to visit during the Utah State high school art show
Certainly the best art museum in the United States and I suspect in the West. Always something new year. Been there many times and expect to be back again many times
Attended an outdoor wedding reception. Nice gardens with beautiful statues.
One of my favorite places in Utah County. Great little gift shop, impressive permanent collection, and exciting curated shows throughout the year. Also a terrific event venue.
We went to the quilt show and it was fantastic. Loved going to the museum for decades. So happy to see the preservation of this in Utah County
Had a great time here! Very nice collection ️
Great place to take your children. There is a childrens play area in the basement. Beautiful architecture, beautiful art, and a peaceful and beautiful sculpture garden!
Beautiful museum. Great place for wedding receptions and special events or even a fun outing with family or a date.
Beautiful and well maintained. Thought provoking exhibits. Kind and helpful staff.
Very quiet and peaceful and serene. The bonus was that I got some wonderful spiritual feel goods while visiting the gardens and it was a pleasure to discover it while I was working.
No admission fee. Lots of kinds of beautiful art, with changing exhibits. I especially love the quilts, wishing there were at least some of them always there. When my grandkids visit from out of town I like to take them there, and always show them the Massasoit statue. I enjoyed telling them that we are a direct descendant from him, as one of his sons married one of the pilgrim daughters. So when they come to visit they ask if we can go see our Indian grandfather. During our recent mission to Italy we visited many world famous museums, and this is as good as any of them.
What a beautiful building to tour. At this particular time, the main exhibit was quilts, and while not my thing, they really are a work of art. The bottom floor is all set up with wonderful art-related activities for kids - super nice for all ages. The best for me was seeing the outdoor sculpture garden that was so beautiful. Someone was out there looking it over for an upcoming wedding which I would imagine will be gorgeous.
Cool place to visit. If you like art
Very nice art museum. Many different styles of art.
This is a great little museum. Its really awesome. The exhibits are thought providing and the art is amazing. The best part is it has never been crowded when we have visited. Its a real hidden gem. Well worth a visit.
I would have liked to spend more time there, the had some neat stuff there.
My first visit to this museum. Went to see their quilts exhibition. Loved it!Will be back to look at the rest of the exhibits before we return to South Africa.
Beautiful works of art by so many talented young individuals
Fun little place for a wedding reception. It has a nice atmosphere and its fun to walk around and look at the local artwork. Could be a fun date idea or just a nice place to go for an aspiring artist or an art lover.
We went for the annual quilt show and it was AWESOME!! Free to the public and a really cool venue!!
Love this magestic ediface. They always have wonderful exhibits and thought provoking art. The building was designed with great creativity and serves the experience well. Wednesdays nights are the best time to go!
A great place to visit with your family, to learn and enjoy. A after noon or weekend fun place.
Great place to bring the kids! We have a ASTC pass from out of state that got us in here for free while visiting from out of town.
The Springville Museum of Art was a place that I had the good fortune of growing up next to you. It is a beautiful place that is very well-kept and free to go to. So it makes for an amazing Saturday getaway for the family.
SMA is always a treat. The exhibits change regularly and are always carefully curated. The focus here is often contemporary Utah artists and I continue to be amazed by the breadth of styles in artistry. An off the beaten path museum thats worth checking out.
That was an wonderful museum. And I feel like I just didnt have enough time there to get through everything. I must go back, I just must.
Fun museum. Donations accepted, but not required. Exhibits change frequently so you can keep going back and see something new.
Love going here and seeing the new exhibits as well as the permanent collection.
I loved this place! What a fun and interesting place to exhibit art!
It was nice to visit the museum and it art displays.
Beautiful buildings. Most of the exhibits were closed off when we went, but what we did see was very fun and impressive.
As far as venue goes, its pretty spacious. As a visitor, it is a nice place for a visit if you happen to be in Springville. However, if youre an artist entering one of the exhibitions (specifically Spring Salon), dont waste your time and money. The process goes something like this:1)Upload a photo of the work, pay the entrance fee of 17$ per piece.2) on specified date, haul artwork to museum.3) one week later, those works accepted will be announced ( and dont expect a specific time- most likely whenever they get around to it)4) nearly three weeks after drop off date, you are expected to pick up your unaccepted pieces PROMPTLY or else be damned another $5 storage fee per day per item. So, save your gas money and entrance fee. Dont bother with this museum.
A beautiful building filled with amazing art. There are so many different exhibits that everyone will enjoy themselves. It is the perfect Museum to wander around and get lots in for hours.
A high quality art museum with free entry. I really enjoyed the wide variety of artist level and medium. The large majority of the collection includes amateur art, but there is still a notable permanent collection upstairs of high quality professional art, especially art of the local surrounding area. Free parking was available, and the architecture and sculptures were very impressive.
Never get tired of it, they are constantly trying out new exhibits
We had our wedding here in the garden in September, though we loved working with Gina from beginning to end, and the place was beautiful, but the staff that was there for the actual event was TERRIBLE TO US. From the beginning they made us feel unwelcome, when I tried to ask about moving some chairs around, the girl rolled her eyes at me and walked away. So we stopped asking them to help us! They had a “bridal room and grooms room” to get ready in, but they had to unlock the museum doors to let us in and out every time, and the staff ladies got mad at us every time we had to go to the room, they actually stopped some of my bridesmaids from coming down to help me get ready!!! And they yelled at one of my groomsmen for coming to help me too. On top of that, they actually blocked people from getting in to the kitchen when they were trying to prepare the food for us!!!! Then, my uncle who is from out of state tried to bring in a cup of alcohol not knowing they don’t allow it. They stopped him at the door and he nicely understood and turned around immediately, and still the lady came and stopped me on the dance floor to tell me that we’d be losing our deposit because of that!! IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WEDDING, in front of all of our guests. She loudly complained, as if we could control all of our guests. Everyone talked about it the rest of the night. We cleaned up and got out 20 minutes before the deadline, but still they complained about our music and how fast we were cleaning up. They acted like we were a burden from the start and we paid good money to be there. The venue was beautiful and we had a great wedding, but I was disappointed by the way the staff acted.
A peaceful, beautiful gem! Diverse artwork, vast collection, and a fun gift shop! Always good to visit this gorgeous place. Free to visit!
