We have plenty of caverns in Texas, but we certainly don’t have one where you can ride in a car through one! This propane-powered vehicle goes all throughout a beautiful cavern and from the comfort of your seat can see all the stalagmites and stalactites your heart could ever want! And the best part? No carrying your kids when they get tired of walking!Youll be amazed by the story of the 12 year old girls that first explored the cave and the size of the opening they went through to get in! And theyre open 362 days per year, so you have plenty of opportunities to check it out!
We had such a fun time at Fantastic Caverns. The caverns are so beautiful and our tour guide, Katy, was so friendly and knowledgeable. All of the staff were kind and seem to really love their job. My son is 7 and daughter is 3. This was perfect for their ages, as they were able to sit and ride through the caverns and didnt have to try to walk on uneven ground. I am so glad we got to experience the Fantastic Caverns!
The staff were awesome and the ride was just long enough.Note: no masks are required for the caverns but recommendedNote: sitting on the left side of the trailer will give you the best sights during the informational part of the tour but the ride loops around so both sides will see almost everything
I took myself and my 3 children a few weeks ago in October. We had a wonderful tour! Julie was an awesome tour guide and was very patient in answering my childrens questions along the way. The gift shop had a lot of really neat items. It was a great and educational experience and we made some wonderful family memories!
This was such a fun and extremely friendly stop on out trip. This is the only drive-thru cave on the continent! It is perfect for anyone especially those who might have a more difficult time traversing a more traditional cave. One of my favorite things about this experience was that they are dog friendly! Your pet can ride through the cave with you! The kids had a great time and learned a lot. I highly recommend this family owned and operated natural wonder!
This is a good LIVE cave. It is still dripping, and that means it is still forming. That also means you shouldnt touch the cave walls and formations because your skin oils could hurt the cave. They drive you through this cave, but be prepared to duck in some low places! There are a few things that you can see better from one side of the vehicle, but you do turn around in the cave and you get to see most of those from the other side as well. It does get chilly under ground, but we didnt need the sweaters we took with us. We were told there are cave fish, crawfish, and salamanders. If you take a little one and think about getting the cave helmet as a souvenir, it would be cool to take it down through the cave with you so they can actually use it. The guides are very informative and helpful. You are unable to social distance on this tour, however they do encourage face masks for the ride. The odd formation you see in my pictures is actually a well pile that someone accidentally drilled through the cave. It has some growth on it already. Enjoy your trip!
A must have experience if you go to Springfield, Missouri.Everything here is taken care of with extreme detail, so you dont only enjoy the ride, but the facilities and museum too which is really interesting. The ride (the main attraction) is incredible. You get to learn so much (or understand if you have bad memory), because even if what the tour guides say is somewhat technical, they explain it so easily and with such passion that you really do get what they say.
I came here when I was little but I didnt remember it at all so I wanted to bring my wife and daughter. It was cool and informative and interesting. The guide was amazing I wish I could remember her name. She was so sweet to my daughter and took the time to make the experience something to remember by answering questions and just making it fun and a good family memory.
I’ve seen the advertisements for Fantastic Caverns on the highway for years but never went. The ads show cute little jeeps pulling trailers with people in them. I always thought they wouldn’t look like that but I was wrong. I think this outside of this place has had a complete makeover recently because it was beautiful. The ride through the cave was amazing as well as the guide who explained everything. We even got a picture of us on the tram which was included and at the end no one was asking for tips, how refreshing, compared to other adventures like this! We loved it, it’s definitely worth the time and money. The only thing that we didn’t like were a couple screaming babies on the ride through the cave but that’s just the way it was. It’s really great for everyone in the family.
Our tour guide was excellent. I think there are lost opportunities in truly making the experience come to life. Our guide did replicate, somewhat and to the best of her capabilities, what the initial group of explorers (all young ladies) might have seen with their limited lighting at that time. The video that is played is very old and Id like to see it in an updated version that discusses environmental preservation and human impact on our natural resources.I feel its necessary to the experience to show more about the initial investigation of the cave and include it in the video as well. That would have truly added to the experience and would have made it more worth the cost. The staff was very kind and helpful and my niece and nephew really enjoyed taking home a souvenir rock from the gift shop and learning about them through our own research. I wish more was spoken about the geology at the beginning or end of the tour to enhance the experience.Overall its definitely worth visiting. I think with a little effort and updating it would definitely make a huge difference and be a more impactful experience.
The caverns were amazing and it wasnt busy bc we got there early. I called to make sure everyone would be wearing masks and was told all employees would be wearing them. All the employees were...except the one guy who was doing our tour! :(
I finally made it to the Caverns, and was very impressed. Nature is amazing! The tram ride is great, the driver makes stops explaining different things throughout the cave, and was surprised to hear there are 2 sink holes. The formations are amazing, and the story as to how the cave was found is very interesting. Its a nice cool 60 degrees and once in awhile youll feel a drip. Nice gift shop.
Great place for a day trip! Lots of history in this ride thru tour. We took our six year old granddaughter and she loved it! The staff was very nice and took the time to sanitize well between tours. They also cleaned the bathrooms frequently and spaced us apart on the ride. We have been here in the past and it has really grown and only improved! The prices for our admission and in the gift shop were reasonable; and they had a variety of neat items to purchase. Thank you Fantastic Caverns for sharing this beautiful cave with all of us and for the photo! We will be back.... Im sure!
This place is amazing! Nothing beats seeing it in person but going into the caves was such a life altering experience. And learning the history of the caves is so knowledgeable as well. We had a great tour guide, Dave who was super friendly and well knowledgeable as well. The rest of the staff is super friendly and helpful as well. This experience is definitely worth every penny!
$56 for 2 adults, free picture, ride on tour, neat caverns and lighting effects
Really cool Place. Riva was a great guide. I had a good time. Worth the stop. Its nice cruising through in the jeep. And our guide was very knowledgeable about the place. Nice people.
Came at 10am on Saturday, before the crowd gathered. The gift shop is amazing with lower-than-expected prices. The tour guide Macy is amazing, and funny, and we had a very good time
Had an amazing time! The guide was excellent and kept us entertained. Would most definitely recommend!
This place is amazing. It is a guided drive through tour. So many good pictures and lots of fantastic information. This is a must see
Was so much fun and with the best guide, Chandis. Thank you for sharing stories, giving us the history and all the tidbits of this beautiful cavern.
Very interesting and informative. Welcome center and gift shop were clean. Well definitely return.
If you are looking for an all-around great experience, this is it! From the gift shop, to the tram ride into the caverns, and the caverns themselves, this is a great excursion.
Must see. Loved the cave. Loved the ride. It is a beautiful cave with a beautiful history. Note: the first 12 people to explore the cave with the finder were women!
My wife and I went early and got a personalized tour, it was absolutely Fantastic !!!
Absolutely Fantastic for a reason! This is a MUST if your in the area and have the time to take a tram ride (1 in 4 in the world!!!!!) through a beautiful cave with pretty cool history! Make sure you pick up a relic in the gift shop or a photo theyll provide for a fee. We had a wonderful guide that did a very nice job educating us on this caves history. It is privately owned and has only transferred hands less than 5 times! Beautiful!
We had two families visit today. From the check in people to the driver - all the employees gave their best effort to help! They do give a teacher discount so ask about that. The free photo at the end is a nice souvenir. We went in the middle of the week and it was not busy at all. COVID means they encourage distancing and masks but do not force it. You can take all the pictures you want which is great! And, you get to ride in a Jeep instead of walking all the way like other caves.
If your in the natural beauty and hearing all about the historical background. This is a fun tour to take, Riva our tour guide did a lovely job explaining the wonders of the Caverns. Went on a Sunday so the lines and wait was good. The shop had good prices on trinkets and popcorn too.
What a great experience! We had a fantastic your guide. Highly recommend going, its a once in a lifetime experience.
We live in the area and loved the caves so much we spent the $5 and turned our day ticket into a season pass. Already its been worth it, since we spent the hottest day of the summer in a beautiful 70° cave instead of melting on the sidewalk. The tour is fun, obviously the same every time you go, but its amazing in there so its well worth listening to the same tour over again.
It was a nice time at fantastic caverns. You show up and pay a little more than I thought it was worth but thats my opinion. You will wait for your tour to be called and board your trailer. Yes I said trailer. You and maybe 15 of your most unknown friends pile on board. Dont expect to socially distance. You will be towed through the cavern stopping along the way to turn on and off lights and hear the history of the cave. If youre sitting on one side and cant see dont worry they turn around and go back out the way they came in. So youll get a chance to see. All in all an interesting time. They dont say you can but do yourself the favor. Be at the front of the line and walk straight to the tow vehicle and jump in the back. Much nicer than having a stranger on your lap....unless you like that.
Loved this place never went to caves before but it was so awesome and reasonable price
This tour was wonderful!!! Macy our guide made it so fun with her bubbly personality!
At around 30 dollars each, I thought this would be disappointing. Just the opposite! It was fantastic! Informative! Beautiful! Historical! Fun! And at the end, we were given a photo which would have cost 20 dollars or more at any other attractions!
This place is pretty cool. Literally. Getting out of the heat was nice. Its about 60 degrees in the cave year round. Not the longest tour in the world but it was very interesting.
My son and I had a good time here! Plan on spending a couple hours between the tour and looking around the gift shop.At the time we went, masks are not required, but recommended. When on the tour you are face to face a few feet from the others on the tour. Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Overall we had a fun time and my son loved it.
I happened to be in the area this morning and decided to pop in to Fantastic Caverns. One adult ticket cost me $28.00. This included a surprise souvenir photo print they presented at the close of the tour. You ride on a Jeep/trailer the entire time (not able to walk around at all) and will be in close proximity to other guests. Masks are encouraged, I don’t know if they were required or not.I’ve been to other caves/mines in various parts of the country. This tour is nice, the cave is beautiful, it’s leisurely. However, you go at the pace of the tour guide - driving through some areas too quickly - and can’t really move about to get a good look all around you.It was worth it, but whereas I would visit some of the walking tour caves again, this was probably a one and done.
Ticket prices are reasonable for the tour. Gift shop prices were also reasonable but only due to them having a sale right now.. I wish they were photo Ops in the cave for kids to take their picture. The popcorn was a great idea and so reasonably priced.
Was a fun experience for us! I just wish we were given longer to take photos of the actual beautiful formations themselves and not just historic artifacts. We whizzed by a small lake and numerous formations without stopping, but stopped at a well pipe.... We were hoping for history AND cave formation beauty! Heavy price for such a small cave experience.
This truly is a fantastic family activity. A great memory maker! The guides are wonderful & the gift shop has many excellent items as souvenirs from a beautiful ancient piece of Earth!
Watch your head! A jeep drags a long trailer through this pretty cool cave. You need to be aware that you can whack your brain bucket.
Had an awesome morning here! Clean & friendly environment, the tour was so much fun our guide Reva was amazing and hilarious! The tour was educational and the cave was Beautiful!
It was so cool! Learned a lot and the kids (even my teens) were amazed! Great family experience.
If youre a senior or disabled. This is a must see. They drive ya through the cave. Left my cane in the car. Very informational. Tells ya about the history of the cave. And it has some history...I was real surprised at the gift shop. The prices were very reasonable. We have been to many tourists traps, this is not one of them. Im talking Mom next time she is here from Colorado. And shes 87Lonnie Smith Sr
Definitely a good time! Makes you want to do more exploring!
Lots of fun. My husband and I were in the area for the weekend and decided to check this out. The tour was really neat and our your guide, Mark, was excellent.
Macy, our guide was great. She was informative, very nice, and breath of fresh air.
It would be really interesting to someone who is into geology. The history was interesting but very brief. Highlight was when he spotlighted a tiny bat hanging from the ceiling of the cave that was hibernating there.
Very cool place. A bit pricey but nice not to walk. Does not offer any coupons anywhere or senior citizen discount.
Very well put together attraction. Everything about this place was clean and comfortable. Everything was updated and you could tell that the owners put money back in to their business. The staff was happy and knowledgeable. This place understands guest service and how to create great experiences for their guests. This was a wonderful experience for part of my families vacation.
Was a great trip even with kids. They may not have understood but the tour guide was excellent. Ended up buying season passes.
I came here with my sister and my grandma and we ALL loved it!! Chandis was our tour guide and he was excellent. He had a great attitude, cracked jokes at the right times, and just overall had the perfect energy. The cave was fascinating as well. I’ve grown up in Missouri so I’m not stranger to caves, but this was still amazing. I’ll totally come back again whenever I find myself in Springfield again!
Excellent tour, very informative and interesting. Beautiful cave!
Absolutely an amazing place to see--a cave so big that you ride a Jeep pulled trailer through it, with informative guides.
It was nice but shorter and more expensive than what I was expecting. And I think they need to move to battery powered jeeps.
It was my second time coming here and a first for both of my daughters. We all love it and I plan to go yet again. Highly recommend.
We had an awesome time touring the caves and loved our tour guides. Lots of history and natural wonder. To all the people giving one star reviews for the lack of social distancing during the pandemic, maybe you shouldn’t be touring during a pandemic in the first place if you’re so concerned.
Caves, no matter the size, are always a very entertaining place to go. Fantastic Caverns is no different. The history of how the cave was discovered as well as the stories since then are entertaining along with the views of the cave. The tour is thorough and the guides seem very interested in their cave. Pricing is reasonable and they throw in a free picture of you and your group in the vehicle, which is quite unusual these days.
Our tour guide, Brent, was so fun and informative. Great family experience! So nice that they GIVE you a family photo at the end. Best part of our Branson trip ️
The cavern was cool although a little too modernized, too lit and there was a stage at one end. When I came in, I used the bathroom and promptly let the gift attendant know that they had a overflowing poopy toilet AND no soap in the bathroom. She said she would try to get to it. When I came back from the tour, over an hour later, the bathroom was in the same condition (still water on the floor!) but now the bathroom stalls without the plugged toilet had no toilet paper! Disgusting and not acceptable, so many children and elderly. No excuse. Not everyone was wearing masks but that doesnt bother me at all. Impossible to six foot distance on a tram. I appreciate them being open in this time but $60 for two people should give them enough to have someone attending to their facilities. The gift shop line was 10 people long the entire time. Stop selling and take care of your bathroom. Wont be back and wouldnt recommend. With so many caverns in the area there may be better ones out there.
The cave was great and the tour was okay, but it’s only about an hour long. I wouldn’t pay $30 for it again. The trams were also really crowded and you’re within a few inches of a bunch of random people. It’d be a lot better if they offered a walking tour or took people in smaller groups.
We took a road trip to Cali and on the way back we stopped at Fantastic Caverns. The name is an understatement of how truly fantastic this place is. If you love nature this is the place for you. Worth the admission fee of just under $30 per person. Our tour guide Kylie was awesome with sharing all the fun facts and history behind this cave. Thank you so much for a fantastic experience
My husband and I took our son and nephew their children 5 and under are free which was awesome was not quite as long as I expected it to be, and did not get to see as much of the cave as I thought but it was a great experience and we got to see some really cool things in the kids absolutely loved it and the lighting system they have in there makes it so that you can take some pretty amazing pictures for keepsakes. All in all it was a great experience the tour guide was very knowledgeable and polite it was fun to do would like to do it again.
Beautiful formations. The tour guide was pleasant and very knowledgeable. The gift shop was pretty awesome and the staff were super nice.
Neat little tour. Had a great guide.
Fantastic Caverns it was a great experience, just a little bit low in some places, so watch your head. We have checked out five different cave is since weve been in Missouri and this was by far the biggest
Was fun to take the kids. A bit overpriced for what it is. You can tell the people running the tours are REALLY dragging out the time. You could walk faster through the caverns that they drive through them. They drive 25ft, stop to talk for 2-3 minutes, drive another 25ft, rinse, repeat.
This was a fun experience. Though I feel the pricing is steep for a driven tour through a cave, others may feel the experience is worth the coin. I would also like to point out that when I called to inquire about the accommodations for Covid-19, I was advised that the tours were downsized from 20-25 to 10-15 people. This was not the case. There were 22 adults and 3 kids packed shoulder to shoulder. All the tours were at least 20-25 adults. We wore our masks but others did not. This was not a Covid friendly attraction.
What a neat experience! The tour guides were knowledgeable about the history and science of the cave which kept things interesting. Guests stay inside the cart for the entire tour which makes it more accessible than other cavern tours. They also provide a photo of your group at the end of your tour!
Great cavern, short wait between tours, and currently they are giving you the photo from your tour group. Nice folks!
Nice stop on cross country trip. Start to finish, a little over an hour. Interesting to see a living cave.
One of the best places I been in the Branson/Springfield area. Definitely worth the price. Very beautiful.
I liked the educational tour. I wish there was a part that you could walk through.
Wonderful place, the tour was educational. We had dogs with us and the staff was very nice and accommodating for us and the puppies. With our tour there was a woman in a wheelchair and they were very accommodating for her as well. Everyone was wonderful and would go again and suggest this to anyone and especially with kids.
Pricey, but worth it! A wonderful experience. The tour guide was fantastic. Knowledgeable, charismatic and friendly. Be prepared to wear a mask. It is now a requirement due to Covid-19.
Very cool experience. The only cave in the USA they drive through.
Fun for the entire family! Kids and adults alike will love this educational tour of this drive through cave.
Beautiful caverns and surrounding area. Great for nature walks, family outings and learning about Springfield history.
An amazing place to explore with knowledgeable and friendly staff. The only public, drive-thru cavern in North America. The sink holes are at different levels, depending on how much rain has fallen. Well cared for and a true treat to see. I enjoyed the tour, despite being claustrophobic and received a complimentary photo of us inside the cavern. Gift store has something for everyone. Great place for a date or family time. Photos dont do it justice, truly a must-see!
My husband and I enjoyed our tour today at fantastic Caverns. Our tour guide Brent was really good at his job! He was entertaining and knew a lot of history about the cave and told stories. Very entertaining. I would recommend going and having an enjoyable experience. As a sidenote, you may want to take a light weight jacket with you as it is 60° in side the cave.
For a ticket that is $30 it was an amazing. Our tour guide did an amazing job and the whole thing from walking in and walking out took about 2 hours and its worth it for sure!!
We enjoyed our tour of the caverns. My biggest problem with it is its very pricey for the tour as well as all the souvenirs.
Pretty fantastic! Our guide was very good, the train ride comfortable and everyone was polite concerning the social distancing. The cavern was naturally beautiful and would definitely recommend everyone to see it!
We had a great time visiting the only drive through cavern in the Unjted States! It was fun to learn the history of how the cavern was discovered and how its been run over the years.
The kids had a blast. The lady giving the tour was super nice and energetic.
The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, and you could tell that the tour guides truly enjoy what they do. Ill definitely be visiting again with friends and family.
Fantastic Caverns lives up to its namesake! Our guide, Miranda, was entertaining, knowledgeable, and very friendly. The price of admission was worth all the amazing natural wonder found underground, especially with the added free group picture. My entire family would recommend this for other families, groups, or even curious individuals. The next time youre around Springfield, MO, you should definitely make time for this excellent subterranean experience.
Julie was our guide. She did a fantastic job of educating our group and was so fun! She was so kind to retrieve a dropped item graciously and with a smile for my daughter. Great experience and highly recommend!!
A really cool place but I truly felt it was overpriced for what it was. The guide was fantastic and informative! It was $95 for two adults and two children just for the tour. Most of the gifts were on sale which was great but Im assuming only due to covid. All in all it was good however we probably wont do it again due to price and lack of other activities.
Neat experience. Kinda pricey but the tram accomodates folks of all ages and abilities. The views are gorgeous.
First time going to Fantastic Caverns. Had a great time, enjoyed the tour . The price per person is reasonable . If you happen to be in the area and have the time it takes about an hour well worth the time. They have a gift shop, the staff is really nice . I will definitely go back.
Bit shorter than expected but it was still a neat place to visit.
I enjoy caves. We learned a lot of the history of the area and the cave system. Beautiful formations in the cave
Did this place as a last minute stop. So glad we did! Ray and Reva were great guides. Reva was very knowledgeable and explained the cave in such detail. Great all around!
Reba was awesome and a wonderful Tour guide. We learned a lot. Thank you.
Great guide, reasonable price, beautiful cave.
One of the coolest places. The history, our guide David was awesome. Go see it get educated about it. Love it
Ive taken the tour multiple times with the same guide and I love it. My little boy would go once a week if he could.
