I went for the first time today using my Silver Sneakers privileges in the pool. I loved it!
Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff! Very clean atmosphere.
The employees are good, kind people.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about the YMCA. My girls literally grew up there on the swim team. The whole staff is friendly and careing. They were like my kids second family for a lot of years.
My son has played basket ball with his friends at this YMCA multiple times and he has always had a great time. Nice to know there is a place for him to go and play with friends.
Outdated and programs for kids are garbage. We’ve done swimming, and gymnastics and they do not teach anything. The gymnastics class changes times and dates with little notice then they start late or end late which makes it hard to schedule anything else. The instructor for gymnastics doesn’t know how to interact with children so her instructions are difficult to follow even for the parents on top of the fact they have 13 kids and 1 instrctor. The swimming they just throw a teenager at it that follows the same routine every class and no one learns anything. The building g couldn’t be more outdated. Had to walk my 5 year old girl through the locker room to get to the restroom. The men in the locker room have no problem walking from shower to locker naked which is not something I am ready for my 5 year old daughter to see. Outdated and in a questionable neighborhood. We need a new YMCA in springfield and with all the funding they get that shouldn’t be an issue.
Ive loved this YMCA since being a kid. The basketball courts are the reason I go now. Ten dollars for a daily visit is too much. I would offer 2 days for ten and if they didnt come the next you guys win. So come one 10 a day is too much. The Y is great but the courts are a little muggy and packed from free memberships. I still like the place.

Staff always friendly, helpful! Great place to come! Always something going on for everyone!!
It has been over 20 years since I have been at this facility. Brought my kids here over the holiday while visiting family. Exceeded my expectations as the facility was maintained much better than expected. The main gym had a divider so that two separate games and/or multiple goals could be used for different activities. The available basketballs are in very poor condition and not properly inflated. The front desk could not offer us an inflation device. The youth gym was lacking in maintenance. The pool looks like it was in good shape and the aerobic facilities looks nice. Overall it was a very good experience and it’s great that we can enjoy our Y membership across state lines.
Unless you have to use this place, I wont recommend buying membership. Old gym with often wrong info, wrong management. They could have done better job for having right persons to teach and run programs. Often my son and I hear instructors name calling in a camp or classes. I pulled him out from their camp and never will send him back.
Shameful that there are no programs for rehabilitating cancer survivors! LiveStrong programs are at the YMCA in Fairborn, Dayton and Xenia. BUT NOT SPRINGFIELD.
The Y is my second home & I consider everyone there family!
I remember going here 20 years ago and I played basketball all the time. Still it is great to this day for kids and adults alike. Basketball courts crowded kinda muggy
