One of my favorite Presidential homes that I’ve visited ! The area it’s in is very scenic and takes you back to older times. The Rangers were excellent and made the experience even greater. It’s wonderful when you get to see the home if someone so important in history. Well worth a road trip to Springfield to see!

The well-preserved home and neighborhood of the best president this country ever had. The man devoted to saving this great nation once lived here as a lawyer, and his house is open for tour. Great, isnt it? Anyway, hit the visitor center to learn about all things Lincoln, and you may even get to hear a speech by a great Lincoln impersonator. I thought I was hearing the speech from the man himself. A great experience!

Lovely place. Well preserved houses maintained as it used to be. Rich in history of one the greatest leaders in US history. We can learn how the young Lincoln climbing up his career ladder. From a very humble beginning, Abe Lincoln emerged himself from a small town self taught lawyer to become one of the worlds greatest leaders.

Really neat for the Lincoln enthusiast. His real home today he lived in for 17 years. 80% of the home furnishings authentic to when the Lincolns left for Washington DC. Young children are easily left bored so keep that in mind if you plan to come with young ones. Overall worth while drop before going to his presidential library/museum.

Great place to learn about Lincoln. Staff was friendly and informative. They had two videos, one was good and the other just mediocre. Our kids did Junior Ranger and earned a badge (just a standard one with the park name), a sticker and a temporary tattoo. We enjoyed the tour of Lincolns House and the two small museums they have on site.

To walk in President Lincolns footsteps. A very worthwhile park to visit for several hours of ones day. The tour of the home itself does not take long. The Ranger was helpful and informative. There are streets to walk and two other homes have self guided tours. My pictures cannot do this park better than seeing it for yourself.

Loved the tour of the Lincoln Home! The house was beautiful and the history was fascinating. A lot of the furniture and structure are originals, which is neat. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and efficient. If you’re trying to be in the first tour group of the day, get there early as a line starts forming 20+ minutes ahead of the doors opening. The tour is free, which is nice. The staff in the visitor center were friendly and helpful. There’s a short video approximately 15 minutes that is worth watching. There’s a gift shop inside the visitor center that has a large selection of books and other items - one of the nicer gift shops I’ve been to at historical sites. Would definitely recommend and return again!

Fantastic place to visit. When someone thinks of visiting Lincolns home you will be surprised to find more than just the house that he lived in. Because this historic site has 2 blocks of preserved homes (with some people dressed in period clothing) you have a feeling of going back in history. The only thing I would like to see is to have each historic home being furnished with period furnishings. A number of the homes were filled with signs and photos explaining some of the history. Lincolns home was filled with Lincolns belongings and furniture - very nice!!

This Historic Site is very cool and interesting! The NPS tries to keep everything authentic, meaning that you cant touch anything inside of Lincolns house. There is a free tour that you can take, but make sure you go to the visitors center and ask for the tickets before you join the tour group. The tour lasts approximately 20 minutes and you are taken throughout Lincolns house, including his bedroom. The kitchen is very neat as well! The best part about the site is how much of the block still looks like it did back in the 1800s. Inside his house is pretty much exactly how Lincoln had it. There are no sidewalks and the road is made out of gravel. Parking costs $2/hr. If you have a National Park pass, you can get half off your parking fees!

Our kids enjoyed the tour of Lincolns home and hearing the stories from our Park Ranger (Larry) of what the Lincoln children would have been doing in the house. Parking is cheap, and both the house tour and self-guided neighborhood tour are free. Our tour of the home felt rushed and not quite as educational as it could have been, although at least part of that was because the tour group included a bunch of Boy Scouts. A tour group with mostly adults may have been more interesting.

Very cute place to stop, but shouldnt be considered a primary visit or all-day activity. Parking is located on site for $2/hour and you pay upon entry at the visitors center desk. Not much in the way of exhibits in the visitors center itself. Can sign up for tickets for the 30 min tour there. I passed as a tour had just gone out and my kids were getting whiny. Site is basically 4 preserved blocks of houses though the vast majority of houses have limited information available. Lincoln house itself can only be accessed on tour. Altogether we spent about 35 minutes here not doing the tour. The presidential library was much more informative and kid friendly in my opinion.

The National Park Service has done an excellent job here and the Rangers that do the tours are great. Arent they always? Nice to see us getting our moneys worth here. The house and tour are fascinating. Many, many actual pieces of furniture, etc. that were original to the home and the Lincolns. The other items are antiques from the same period. It is very, very well executed. Im sorry I havent been here before, but Ill go back. The Rangers have great stories really bring the areas to life. There are two other houses with displays, both worth taking in. One has a cutaway inside with an explanation of the construction methods of the time. Anyone with a professional or home construction/remodeling background would find it interesting to see. Note...You have to go into the visitors center to get tickets to enter the Lincoln home (theyre free). The center is well staffed with knowledgeable park service employees. They have clean bathrooms and cold water fountains. The grounds have been restored to nearly the same as period time of 1860. There is a street that has been cordoned off to traffic and its a pleasant short walk to the home. It was a neat tour and I recommend asking lots of questions. In the tour they dont mention things if you dont ask. Interesting facts: There is a root cellar in the old Lincoln home, but its not on the tour. The original streets were actually wider than the current streets. We met a gentleman who did the recording of the music box in the ghosts presentation at the Lincoln museum.
