I rated the hotel and its amenities a 4. Even though it looks like they have been remodeling decor seems a little outdated(just my opinion) no biggie. I rate the staff 5 stars. Employees were extremely nice and very accommodating! We got to our room that was nice and clean but I was hoping for a river view(because this was part of anniversary trip) and James at the front counter was very nice and was able to give us a room overlooking the river. Later ate at Osprey restaurant/bar and had the street tacos with a BBQ flavored pork and my wife had an excellent blackened salmon. Waitress was very kind and even offered some suggestions(which I love because my wife never knows what to pick....lol!) Then to see some of the staff members come out to take pictures and celebrate while a young man proposed to his young lady! At Ruby River hotel you have a good hotel with AWESOME STAFF!We did not get the chance to try the food but there was a BBQ food truck in the parking lot as well....food looked and smelled really good! Due to COVID-19 rules the pool was closed but was a nice sized pool area with moderate room to lay along poolside without being disturbed by people walking around the pool! There was some construction going on at time we left in the morning but wasnt distracting.

Well they are renovating the hotel and nothing is open, but they are not giving renovation rates. They also didnt mention anything about renovation. So when we walked in it had a funny smell and there was a bunch of junk around since they were working on the hallways. Location was nice and inside the room was nice, but overall not a great experience. Plus there was a lot of junkies and homeless people hanging around the area, not good when you have your family with you.

Both experiences at front desk were terrible. Arrived 10 minutes prior to hotel reservation check in time and woman was very rude. Told us our room wasn’t ready, said she would call when it was and that she didn’t know when it would be ready. Also added she couldn’t tell us where to park because she didn’t know where our room was. I received two emails prior to arrival requesting a time I would be arriving that I filled out.Hotel restaurant waiter was great and outdoor patio was very nice!!!While at the restaurant, checked my email and saw that our room was ready, was waiting for a call. Went back to front desk, was not acknowledge by receptionist on the phone for ten minutes. Used a kiosk to try and get our key twice that didn’t provide the key we needed, while receptionist said nothing.Got up to the room to see the room we paid for an upgrade for a river view was actually a view of all construction with a small view of the river through the construction.Over all, very disappointed. All the online reviews and pictures made this place sound great so I am less than impressed and will not return.

Sorry this is so long...I was very frustrated! We stayed for 2 nights in mid September, Sunday - Tuesday. This was my birthday getaway and my husband tried really hard to give me a nice, relaxing weekend away. Unfortunately, he booked this hotel!! When we first looked out of our window, I assumed the construction equipment below us was just being kept in a fenced in area for safety...because certainly they would not have put us in a room directly above an active construction site! Wrong!! Construction started bright and early at 7:30am!! When we asked to be moved to a new room because of the noise, the front desk girl didnt even know there was construction going on in that area and acted like my husband was crazy!!! She said she would try to figure something out and would get back to us, but after a couple of hours, my husband called again to ask. What a little snot she was! Like we were just putting her out by asking for a room where they werent SAWING/GRINDING/USING HEAVY EQUIPMENT, DIRECTLY UNDER OUR WINDOW!!! If it wouldnt have been so smoky, we wouldve been outside for most of the day, but unfortunately we were forced to stay indoors for most of our stay. When they finally did move us, the new room was nice and clean, it was much quieter (for a little while) and overlooked the new pool area, so I was super happy...but then once again, construction started promptly at 7:30am the next morning, right outside our window!! I called down around 10am to see if we could get a late check-out for noon and was told I would need to pay a $15 fee for the extra hour! Ive NEVER paid an extra fee for requesting an hour late check-out! So, I hung up and told my husband and he was upset. He called down to speak with the girl at the front desk, he kindly explained how the weekend had not been ideal and wed appreciate an extra hour on the house...thats when things went south. What a freaking brat you have working the front desk!! After he explained what a disaster our stay had been, how we had LOUD construction outside our window, moved rooms and STILL had loud construction out beneath our room, she raised her condescending voice and called my husband by his FIRST name saying, Oh SURE, you just go ahead and do whatever you want!! After he hung up with her, we wanted to speak with a manager, but it just wasnt worth it, I just wanted to get out of there. Needless to say, we left as soon as we could. I will never stay here again. While your rooms have been recently updated, they are cheap and several things didnt work. Our coffee maker in our first room was broken, an entire set of lights in the ceiling also didnt work, the air conditioner was janky and clinking...Its evident it was a cheap remodel and very little effort was put into the rooms. Super unfortunate!!

Excellent location near hospitals, universities and entertainment. Hotel is currently undergoing renovations, but what is completed is beautiful. 70s architecture blended with large black & white historical photos tastefully hung throughout the public spaces and guest rooms (guest rooms are accented with inspirational quotes). Giving 4 stars due to the super soft beds. Very uncomfortable if you have back issues. Otherwise, a great property and very friendly staff.

The staff was absolutely disrespectful. When I stay in a hotel I assume, just like any other business, that they would appreciate every paying customer. But this hotel acted like they could care less about me choosing for hotel rather than an my other. I would have rather stayed at motel 6 for the cheap price.

It was ok, I got a standard double queen room no bath tub only a shower, there was black marker scribbles on wall and despite the very cold temperatures the cold air was on in the room. The remote for TV was faulty and not many channels. The back door to patio for every room has been boarded up locking customers inside with only one exit. The breakfast was garbage, with options being Jimmy Dean sausage sandwich, an apple, two types of muffin(blueberry or banana nut) and a small carton of white milk. By our second morning only the sandwiches were available, we bought our breakfast elsewhere! Pillows and beds were very comfy, thicker blankets should be made available. The inside of shower has soap, shampoo, and conditioner dispensers. The pool, hot tub and gym are currently shut down, and clearly they are repairing various things because there were cords taped to floor and patches of odd paint on walls in hallway. The parking lot needed to be cleared of ice better because it was a bit treacherous.

The Manager was rude, snooty and drunk with power of her position. The rooms were not clean at all and mold was in every corner of the room and bathroom. Also after doing some investigation I discovered that the old saw mill that burnt down, Spokanes famous fire, was the foundation of this Hotel. Cheap money hungry corner cutting children not of GOD. I would not recommend this Hotel to anyone even if it was the last place with vacancy for 1,000 Miles. The critters along the river were peaceful and friendly though. Maybe one of them should be considered to take over a position.

This hotel has been or is being remodeled. The room we stayed in was very nice. The bed was incredibly comfy as was the pillows. Very clean, a large selection of TV channels and very quite. We got our reservations on Priceline so saved about $30 a day. Our newly renovated room was very nice! Great bed, too. Dinner on the deck was special, with Baby Back ribs right off the BBQ! Most of the rear of the property is still in work, and the front pool had not been attended to, so we didn’t take a dip. Ann wanted to weed the area around the pool as a favor... Covid-19 has limited many features, and so no breakfast. When they get the project finished, this will be the BEST SPOT to stay. 100% improvement over the old owners!

This place has an amazing view. I was very disappointed that the men you really didnt have a big selection nor did the food have a lot of taste. The barbecue was delicious. The young man Kramer was an amazing bartender and made great drinks. But I did watch other servers that didnt get to guests, people waited for a long time just for water. And I never saw a manager on staff at all. So for a restaurant and hotel being on the beautiful River of Spokane I think that they failed in a lot of things except for their bartender.

Love this place! I stay here every time I travel through Spokane! The access to the river path (which has been made better with recent construction), close proximity to Riverfront Park as well as the ease of getting out of Spokane because of the convenient location on North Division street are hard to beat! They are currently undergoing construction, but the modifications they are making will only add to how much of a gem this place is( 3 pools). Depending on the room, some beds could use upgrading, and whatever cleaner they use they could switch to unscented because it leaves a weird lingering odour throughout the halls. They could also add outdoor security cameras, but there is a security person who walks the parking lot periodically to check ensure safety and Ive never had a problem. The restaurant is okay, the service is always fantastic though and if youre lucky there will be some excellent local entertainment to enjoy a drink to!

We live in Spokane and had a perfect staycationjust before corona19 curtailed leaving home at the newly restored, refurbished, beautiful new Ruby River Hotel. From the moment we entered until leaving, the staff - front desk, maids, restaurant and bar management and wait-staff warmly, was professional, genuinely kind, helpful and fun to a fault being especially attentive to my disabled wife. The rooms have been comfortably refreshed and the dining room and bar dramatically upgraded. Meal choices were inviting and food delicious from breakfast through dinner. We even had a delightful young man who took us and picked us up in the hotels van for a show one night at the Bing. And, the always-beautiful, right-on-the-rivers-edge outdoor dining and landscaping now more inviting than ever, with, of course, big bonus being right on the citys great Centennial Trail which gives you scenic walk West right into Spokanes treasure, Riverfront Park, or East for long bicycle, run or stroll for miles. For tourists its a great choice for being right downtown so near shopping, entertainment and the Park. For locals, its ideal for breakfast, lunch, cocktails or romantic dinner for two or with good friends. Better yet, take it from us, the Ruby River Hotel is a perfect staycation which feels youre in another place or time yet right in you own hometown. Cheers and Thanks to Jerry Dicker and family for creating another splendid addition making our fair city and even better destination for tourists and we who happily, gratefully live here. - Royce and Annette Gorseth

Be aware of the added $10+tax per day amenity fee (read the fine print on website Amenities page) on top of the room rate for basics such as parking, wifi, pool, and non-working coffee maker. We had a concern with our room being remodelled and hotel staff kindly swapped us to another room that was away from the renovations. In fact, the staff was always great, from the front desk to the janitors, to the keepers, everyone was very friendly.
