I love going to the Opera House. The seating is very comfortable and the acoustics are top rate. Please continue to bring top entertainment like Mannheim Steamroller to the Opera House.
I cannot fathom that WCE has not already cancelled this show. I went a few years ago and I can tell you the average age the attendees has to be mid 70s. I had hoped to take my 80 YO sister and BIL but I would not even consider taking them to this venue at this time, even if it means eating $600 worth of tickets.Come on WCE, do the right thing, cancel now.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening, and a pleasure to see a Broadway cast perform so well——having a ball themselves entertaining us.
We took our two grand kids to see the show they enjoyed it, My wife and I saw The Lion King years ago in Seattle and it was super, this one was geared more to little kids with sorry jokes. but was still entertaining, The worse part was the tickets said to come at least a hour early, I guess that was so we could stand out in the cold next to the heaters, then stand around waiting to get in to our seats. Hope the next show we go see is in the summer with nice weather to stand around in with all the other folks.ThanksDave and Kathy
Difficult to understand words, maybe too loud as when singing softly we could understand it better. Also feel the stage is too dark, as it was in another play we saw.
This is the second time we saw it and it was as wonderful as the first. What a production . I only hope it comes again when my grandson is old enough to enjoy it. My only suggestion would be at intermission to have rope lines at the bathroom to direct men & women to form the lines at the wall and not across the line of traffic which they are doing now.Thx Lynne Emery
Saw Lion King many years ago and thought it was the best performance we’d ever seen. This one was a disappointment. Political innuendo throughout and a ‘trash Donald Trump’ joke within the first 10 minutes. In retrospect, we wish we had walked out. Wish these entertainment folks would realize people pay big money to come to be entertained ( in our case 2 tickets, dinner and overnight in a hotel). We don’t want to pay to hear your political opinions.
I took my daughter and granddaughter as a Christmas Present. This was one of the most memorable nights of our lives, as three generations held hands during the finale. Simply outstanding production!
My family continues to enjoy the Best of Broadway entertainment, The Lion King, being the latest. What a wondeful play, it was truly enjoyed. Thank you for bringing this to the Spokane area for us all to enjoy!!
This is our 10th year of being Best of Broadway Seasons ticket holders. We live in Montana and every performance gives us the opportunity to have a nice dinner out and stay downtown Spokane. While each musical may not be of our choosing, we are happy with the opportunity to keep the location of our seats. In addition, it allows us to change our tickets to accommodate our schedules. Motown, The Musical had outstanding performances with incredibly talented performers.
This was such an enjoyable show - the sets, tho minimal, worked flawlessly. The talent of the whole cast - amazing. Of course the music is a classic - I grew up with it in the 60s - and the talent of Carole King - I will always be happy hearing her music.A well done show and great opening for the 2016-2017 season. I have been a subscriber since the beginning - thanks to my mother. Live entertainmentis the best.
This was my favorite play of the season so far. The story was entertaining and the music was great. I read other reviews stating they thought it was too racially driven and political, but I felt like they were trying to accurately portray the story. I would recommend this play to anybody who loves music.
First- I thoroughly enjoyed the cast and set of, The Sound of Music. The touring shows you bring to Spokane are always a treat. I gave my experience three stars because for the first 15 minutes of the show, we (the audience) were forced to also watch people trying to get to their seats. Five minutes before curtain we were looking out at the lines of people trying to get through security. Thats on you! More metal detectors and more people at the tables would have allowed all to get in on time and would have rated you 5 stars. Getting there early is what we did but it didnt really make much of a difference. Invest in the people and equipment to see all ticket holders get to their seats before the curtain goes up. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing this with us! We bought our tickets through the Whitworth special and would not have been able to attend without that. This is a show Ive been wanting to see for a long time, and I was not disappointed! The costumes, music and story were all so amazing. Thankyou STCU for bringing the Best of Broadway to Spokane!
Saw Kinky Boots opening day performance in Spokane, WA. Had purchased the tickets a couple of months in advance and could hardly wait for the date to come. I took my daughter with me and the both of us were not disappointed. We laughed so much our cheeks hurt! The music was exceptional! Lola was the hit of the show!!! The understudy that played Charlie had a phenomenal voice, he came on stage after intermission as the original cast member was not feeling well. I would highly recommend that everyone go see this show if it comes to your town.
The cast of Kinky Boots was wonderful! The actor who played Lolo was excellent and the understudy for Charlie had a fantastic voice. Loved the story and the costumes. I dont wear heels so I was impressed with the Angels wearing them like they were flats while performing great choreography. I also loved all the messages in the story - very inspiring and applies to everyone.
I had been looking forward to seeing Pippin for months. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment. The performers just didnt seem up to task. I enjoyed the colorfulness, the attempt at humor and I always enjoy singing and dancing, but the overall energy of the show was bland. The ending was just terrible. The idea I got was... You can choose to settle for someone your are fond of with an ordinary life or suicide. What?! That is crazy! It didnt not work for me.
I surprised my boyfriend with tickets to the illusionist live from Broadway. He loves magic!! I was able to purchase front row seats! WE HAD A BLAST!! Loved every moment of it. Highly suggest anyone see them when they are in town. For sure! Time flew by so fast, it was only a hour and a half show. Only wish I was able to shake some of the performers hands :) They put on a great show! Hope they will come back to Spokane soon!. I think my boyfriend and I will always remember this night :)
My husband and I attended Motown and we were blown away by the talented actors and their voices. Wow, it was so much better than we ever expected and enjoyed every minute of it.
Not Good! Found the performance disappointing at best. Female lead singer was good male lead singer NOT. Felt like I was watching a junior high production. Hope this performance never comes back to Spokane. On reflection for over the past 30+ years I have been attending, this was by far one of the worse we can remember seeing.
Saw Motown on opening night. The show was great the experience at the theater was very poor. First there were no ushers so no programs-one usher at the very top of the venue had programs. Every person in our row had to go up to get one. Maybe they ought to have less people going through our purses and have some inside the theater.Second the people in the row behind us must have thought they were going to a movie or baseball game because they brought in loads of candy, chips and snacks. They passed the food back and forth crinkling paper with the chomping, smacking, cracking and chewing up of their movie sized snacks they brought in from rite-aid. They left a pile of trash on the floor at intermission. It was disgusting, highly annoying and disturbed the whole first act of the show.Question is why are you searching our purses and bodies and allowing people to bring in a plethora of snacks? My seats were in the orchestra so they were not cheap. Not to mention every time I see a show it never fails I am sitting behind some huge man and I cannot see half the stage. Ive had better experiences at INB this one was the worst.
Loved River Dance. Watch it several years ago and was one of my all time favorite shows. It was nice that this show was different from the last and just as entertaining. Thank you for bring such great family entertainment to Spokane.
Saw Motown the Musical with my wife. There was excellent singing, sets and costumes. Our two complaints are that there were way too many messages about racial intolerance and the sound was so loud that it bordered on distortion. Im a little hard of hearing and it was still way too loud for me. This is the second musical we have seen there and had the same problem with both. WAY too loud!
I attended Beautiful - The Carole King Musical on Sunday, November 13 at the INB Performing Arts Center in Spokane with 3 girlfriends and we had a wonderful time. The whole production; orchestra, lighting, sets, costumes, as well as the individual performances, was top-notch and polished. I also appreciated a small touch in the lobby, a photo op backdrop for attendees to remember the occasion. The only negative is a slight one. At times the sound system is a bit too loud. Other than that, it was a fabulous production in a fabulous venue. I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to see Broadway musicals out here in the West. Thank you WestCoast Entertainment!
A well staged and acted performance. But that is just the beginning . The singing was divine, and the orchestra not far behind! An incredibly enjoyable performance. We would see it again in a minute!-dg
Went to Pippin. Did not find it to be particularly entertaining. No memorable music. The acrobatics were very good, but the story line was not particularly interesting. The singers were average. Would not go again to this show.
Another wonderful night at the INB. This time we saw the Illusionists and it was a fun filled hour and a half. This show was breath taking and kept you full engaged. We took the whole family, grandma to granddaughter and we all left with how did they do that. Thanks for another great show.
My wife and I have attended numerous shows the past few years starting with Jersey Boys. When asked which show has been our favorite, we say that they have all been good, but all different. My personal favorite is Memphis but only by a slim margin. My only complaint is sometimes the sound is not up to the standards of the entertainment. Newsies was one of the shows that at times you could not understand the words because of poor sound quality. I am hesitant to buy season tickets because of this.
This musical was absolutely amazing. The performers were amazing singers, and they brought Carole King to life. Just the best show I have been to this year!!!!
Besides the production be absolutely hilarious, I must say the door man in the Orchestra level, door 11 was wonderful. I was on crutches and he set us up on the back along the wall so I could prop my leg up and get my crutches out of the way. Our seats were fabulous. Thank you so much. I look forward to our next visit.Teri NitcyLewiston, Idaho
42nd street was OK overall. We liked it and will go again although would appreciate to see someone else in the lead lady role :(All the rest were very OK and we loved the dancing and the easiness of the the rest of crew to make it up for the lead actress...The singing was OK, too :)
Love the Best of Broadway. I purchase season tickets for myself and my mother. It offers great entertainment throughout the winter with a great variety of shows.
We were greatly looking forwards to Newsies, but unfortunately, we were greatly disappointed. The performers in the show were wonderful. The production, however, was a big let-down. The sound quality was terrible. We had great seats--dead center in the first balcony--there should have been no sound obstruction. The orchestra overpowered the singers; we could barely understand a single word the entire show, and we are familiar with the lyrics! We heard multiple other people in our section complaining about the same problem. We spoke to two ushers about the problem, and were told that there was nothing to be done. One of the ushers did offer us a hearing-aid device, which we declined; two people in their mid-twenties do not want to have to wear headphones in a live theater just to be able to understand what was going on!Additionally, one of the biggest numbers of the show, King of New York, is a huge and impressive tap dance. From what I could tell, there were no stage-level mics (or the volume was just way down), because from where we were, we could barely hear the tapping at all... which defeats the purpose of a tap dance. Thus, one of our favorite numbers was spoiled. Finally, the dancing was INCREDIBLE, but the rest of the staging was just poorly done. The fight choreography was awkward and unconvincing, the actors blocking seemed unnatural, and none of the actors except those who were front and center seemed invested in the show. On more than one occasion I observed actors in the background seemingly break character and just stand there like they werent a part of what was going on. You expect a lot more from Best of Broadway! If this had been a community theater show, we would have been blown away. But for Best of Broadway, it was very disappointing. It seemed like the producers of the show hoped the audience would be so wowed by the amazing dancing that they wouldnt notice how sloppy everything else was. And at $170 for two people, well... thats a pretty expensive disappointment.
What an amazing show. Loved everything the set was amazing. The only bad was my seat neighbors talked not quietly through most of the performance. Other then that looking forward to next season.
Loved 42nd Street!! It was so enjoyable and the dancing was fabulous.....my husband and I had smiles on our faces during the entire show and for a long time after......Thank you for bringing such a great show to Spokane.
We have been a long time member and we love going to these musicals as a family.
We are two families, three generations, a total of 7 people ages 12 to 75 and Best of Broadway season ticketholders. We all absolutely love the various Best of Broadway musicals. While we look forward to those shows we already know, the anticipation of those weve never been exposed to is very exciting. Certain shows resonate more with some than with others in our group, on the whole we have not been disappointed in a single production. This is the fourth season of our tribe traipsing out in all manner of weather to have dinner and a show and its ben a wonderful learning experience for the three children turned young adults in our group. Since we attend with children, we always request the very back row of the balcony and the acoustics there are great. We bring small binoculars in order to see the finer details, but it doesnt diminish the visual effect in the least.Without being Best of Broadway season ticketholders, we most likely wouldnt make it to the vast majority of the shows weve attended in the past four years. The reduced ticket price & payment plans make it possible for us afford to participate.Thank you to STCU for your sponsorship of Spokane Best of Broadway!
Pippin was simply disappointing! I was really looking forward to this one this season. I love the plot, but the show was flat and lackluster. There was no real stage presence. After the show I wasnt surprised that there wasnt a huge standing ovation. We talked to several people around us at the show and out afterwards and many were disappointed in this production of it. But I do have to say, West Coast Entertainment generally has wonderful shows, I guess a lemon here and there isnt to shabby.
Hal Holbrook as Mark Twain was a once in a life time experience. I rate the show five stars. I ordered a drink for intermission. It was watery because it had been sitting for awhile and ice was melted. Money down the drain. It was too busy to get another drink to replace the watery drink.
I loved this show, this is the 2nd time seeing it and I would go again. Thank-you Spokane for bringing us excellent entertainment!
Kinky Boots was heartwarming, energetic, and just plain fun! My daughter, daughter-in-law and I really enjoyed the show.
Many thanks for presenting/sharing underwater photographer Brian Skerry and his Ocean Soul presentation to INB. He touches hearts and minds like no other! I loved it.It is so important to bring National Geographic Live to Spokane to help local minds become more global, to experience the beauty of the Earth, and how we can focus on efforts to protect it. I was excited to hear that you had more than 2600 students attend that day too. Thanks again for sharing National Geographic and Brian Skerrys amazing advocacy and talents.Donna K
I love the show, the music and even the acting. What I hated, was it was so load during the songs I needed ear plugs. SOOO many speakers for such a small space, it was overwhelming. It also echoed like crazy. For me the sound was not set correctly and it was too bad, it definitely detracted from the show.
Was the first Illusion show that I have been to. Was much better than I expected! Was a very good show.
The performance was everything I expected; just a wonderful way to hear and see the Beatles perform once again.
I thought the acts/talents were good. The lady who played the narrator was very hard to understand and follow. Did not get the plot and very disappointed w the finale.... very hard to follow.
WCE Broadway is an incredible organization bringing Off-Broadway shows all the way to Spokane. Performances that Ive been to so far have been nothing short of amazing. My favorite so far was 42nd street which had great dancing/singing/acting. Newsies was also incredible and the set alone was nothing short of fantastic. Take a look at the line-up of shows they are bringing to Spokane, and get tickets!
Tonights Headline: Newsies was nothing short of BRILLIANT!I was throughally entertained on the edge of cushy theatre seat in awe that so much hard-working talent was on one stage in no, not Seattle but unassuming Spokane, Washington. Dont think for a moment that a Broadway Tour is second best as this production was first class, only better as it was delivered to my hometown. The historically true story has all the makings of a hit; the ordinary does something extraordinary, theres triumph over adversity, good vs. evil and lastly Love Wins! despite the characters being from opposite sides of the tracks. There I was cheering for the underdog and hopeful that despite resistance those two would end up together.Expect powerful voices and classically trained dancers with street swagger singing catchy show tunes. Whats not to love? Just when I thought I saw it all, the dancing got ridiculously amazing sealing the deal that this is a not-to-miss show. Okay, now theyre just showing off in the best way possible.Nothing compares to the experience of live entertainment. Leaving the theatre, I couldnt help but think, Lucky Us! to have Spokane be a stop for this remarkable show.Dont think about it. Get your tickets and GO. Newies doesnt disappoint. Not even for a moment.
One of the best shows weve seen in years. Great job.
I have been a long time season ticket holder since your series started in Spokane. I have enjoyed the shows very much, but the last two years have been disappointing. I subscribe to see Broadway shows - I did not subscribe to see shows like the Blue Man Group or next years Riverdance. If I had wanted to see them I would pay for an extra show, but not as part of the series. If you cannot bring in 5 Broadway shows instead of the Las Vegas Shows, I would rather you only bring in 4. Book of Mormon was great, but I do not need to see it two years in a row. Please go back to just the Broadway shows, if you keep bringing in the Las Vegas shows, I will not longer be a season subscriber.
Amazing!!! I first saw the presentation as part of a KSPS fund raiser. I contributed and received a VHS copy of the performance, The live experience was beyond expectations. Thank you West Coast Entertainment for brining Riverdance to Spokane.
It was a great show. Fast moving and very funny.
I took my granddaughter to see Annie, wow what a wonderful performance!
WE DO THE NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC SERIES FOR MY FATHER-IN-LAW WHO IS 83 AND WE LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF ALL THREE PRESENTATIONS THIS SPRING.
The Illusionists were excellent. Thank you for bringing them to Spokane.
I realize we are in the minority but we found it beyond vulgar. Left at intermission.
Wouldnt allow us to change date of show after repeatedly trying to contact them via computer and phone number for a week, the number was on our tickets... Not buying next season after this
Beautiful was AMAZING!!!!!
Good show, did not disappoint.
Beautiful - Some Kind of Wonderful!!!
Absolutely WONDERFULL !!! we loved it
Had a really hard time understanding the dialogue.
42 street was not good. Left early. As season ticket holders Id like my money back for this show.
