My daughter loves this place!! So do I... its a great place for a Sunday afternoon outing. We especially enjoy being able to feed the sting rays. We come here all the time, but today we got to feed the bearded lizard for the first time and also got pics with real live mermaids!! Very cool. Had a blast, always do.
Today was a Blast! My son and I loved every part of it. But I got to say Erin, one of the employees really stuck out to me! She had such a love for her job, you could see her passion in everything! She answered all my son and I questions with enthusiasm! She deserves so much praise for her hard work! Can’t wait to visit again! Also the Halloween decor was amazing!
It was very nice the facility was clean. The employees were very kind and friendly to adults and children. They never seemed annoyed with the kids and made sure everyone respected the animals and made sure the animals remained safe while still making it fun! Definitely would recommend feeding the animals, the pricing is affordable. I will go back because my two year old loved it!
Great place to take kids. Me and my family went to the Northtown mall and didn’t realize that there was an aquarium. The cashier was very nice. The small aquariums were very nice and full of fish. There is a small lil crab in a huge aquarium in the middle dancing around so cute. The stingray ponds were amazing fun and thankful that we are even allowed to touch and or feed them. Loved the lil kiddy area. Absolutely loved all the beautiful birds that you can go in and feed and sit with I could stay in there all day. The reptile and amphibians were great as well just found they there was alot more fun stuff. Got some stuffed animals on the way back so nice. Was kinda expensive but overall amazing. I highly recommend that you visit there if you have a large family with kinda. Thanks BlueZoo of Spokane.
Really cool experience. Feeding the rays was awesome. Most of the staff didnt seem particularly enthusiastic and it wasnt clear which critters you could feed or who to ask but it was cool once we chased someone down to ask. Wish some of the aquarium tanks were a little better labeled so we knew what we were looking at. Spokane needed this!
Im a pass holder, so I go here a lot. Its always evolving and improving. I love the variety, especially in the touch tank areas. I visit a lot of aquariums and having this one so close to home has been a real treat. Normally I try to bring someone new every time I visit and so far everyone has loved it. If you havent gone I highly suggest a visit.
We love Blue Zoo Spokane! Were very happy you decided to build the first Blue Zoo in our city. My daughter, her 4-yr old, & I have annual passes and we are anxious to get back to using them. I love the variety of sea creatures, reptiles, and birds! We love being able to interact with the rescued manta rays and being able to pet and feed them without any worries. I personally could sit and play with the birds, as I can see my late Father loving to feed them and get as many as he can settling on his hands and arms. My granddaughter loves playing on the ship in the middle and watching the sharks and mermaids! Thanks again for letting Spokane Washington be your first site!
We drove 2 hours to get here and let me tell you it did NOT disappoint. The facility is super clean the animals are extremely healthy, happy, friendly and fed. I reccomend feeding the stingrays and birds they have so much personality. The staff is absolutely amazing with young children and the animals. The price is a little higher then we hoped but seeing how they spend the money and how they treat the animals makes it 100% worth every penny.
This was so awesome!!It was my kids and I first time going to a Zoo in general! We had an amazing time with all the animals and the employees were helpful even with Covid going on! Definitely recommend going because this place is so much fun even if you’re an adult.
It was my family’s first time to visit Blue Zoo. I highly recommend purchasing the “Feeding Tokens.” You can feed the sting rays, parakeets & the river monsters (large fishies.) My daughter fell in love with the very cute & happy sting rays. I loved feeding them shrimp. The workers on the floor are very helpful and enjoy answering any questions that you may have. There are nice aquariums holding a variety of sea life. There’s a small octopus, sharks, & colorful fish to see. Don’t forget to check out the reptile area too. Or maybe you would like to play a virtual reality game that makes you feel that you are in the ocean... Spokane is lucky to have a family oriented place that’s fun for everyone. Keep up the good work Blue Zoo!!!
Absolutely horrendous. No where near enough employees for how busy it is. At some points there is only one person for about 50 people. I can’t imagine how stressful that is for the employees. Either they need to hire more people or schedule more per day....
I absolutely love this place!!! All the employees are amazing! But one girl really deserves a shoutout, I have visited a few times while she has been working and she is amazing, if I remember right her name is Erin. You can see her passion for what she does, she is filled with knowledge about the animals and is always so happy to help customers! I would visit everyday if I could!
Tanks werent very clean some were empty our did not match signs over priced for what it is no octopus in sight the one star is for the stingray tank my cousin had better coral reef tank in her house also lots of fish that arent identified this type of thing is a great idea but could be done so much better
Always an amazing experience! The staff are friendly and informative. The range of animals and animal interactions is awesome for the size of the facility. Also, there are water tables and a fun pirate ship for kids to play on—lots to do and see for a family and worth every penny!
Blue zoo is amazing. My family loves it. Feeding stingrays and the birds is my favorite. Kids love the big pirate ship and the learning tables. Plus they are always giving away passes on there Facebook page. (Havent won yet, but amazing they so this) Only bad part.... I live two hours away.
We had an amazing time and our children loved it! They all have done such an amazing job making it really welcoming and beautiful. I love the design and how everything looks like its natural habitat. The staff was awesome and knowledgeable, it was great to ask questions and have factual answers. The activity tables for the kids were perfect and so was the ship/play area. The gift shop was beautiful, we didnt purchase as we were in a hurry but we will be back to visit again! We will definitely recommend to everyone we know!Thank you for bringing such a beautiful, creative, educating environment to Spokane!
My son loves it here. Weve been coming for over a year now. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The ONLY reason I have given it 4 stas is because a Single Entry is almost 20 bucks. Pretty spendy for such a small space.... It would be a much more reasonable price if it included something extra... Such as maybe One free virtual experience. Or even the ability to feed one animal free of charge (feeding is extra as well). It is a pretty cool experience, however I wouldnt be going at 30 bucks a day for my son and I.Hence the Yearly membership...
I love going to the Blue Zoo. The whole family has such a blast. From touching the rays all the way to the little fish that nibble on your fingers we have fun. My youngest would spend the entire time over at the water funnel if he could throwing the balls and splashing water. We love it so much were thinking about just getting year passes.
The kids love this place because they can see and pet the stingrays. Its hard to justify the cost for what really amounts I one or two activities per visit. They have reptiles and a room full of parakeets as well but its hard to fill more than an hour or 90 minutes.
Had fun but my toddler got grumpy before we could see everything. I would suggest having the interactive water play area towards the exit because my toddler had such a blast at it that he never wanted to see everything they had to offer, but overall worth the money.
My children and I loved this place! So much fun and educational tips about each animal.
Loved both the animals and staff. Ty so much for providing such an awesome experience for me and my family. The only thing I would say you have to improve on is properly labeling your displays. Many had nothing at all.
Enjoyed going today. Lots of different exhibits. The tanks big and small are beautiful. Lots of areas to interact with either fish or other animals. A bit pricey though I feel.
We took our daughters, ages 11, 9 & 5, here today for the first time. It was an enjoyable experience all around. The exhibits are clean, interesting and fun. Many exhibits are interactive and hands on. Its fun to feed the manta rays and the birds. We loved the tortoise and the iguana. The facility is clean and well tended by many employees. There is no public restroom but that is understandable given how conscious the facility is about hygiene. The price of admission feels a little steep at first but after seeing how many employees they have, how carefully they take care of the animals and the quality of the exhibits, we felt the price was appropriate. Besides, admission is good for day-long reentry.
What a fun and much needed little zooquarium. Although its about a couple of hours worth of enjoying wonderful bits of wildlife, and sea creatures ( okay the budgies cant be called Wildlife I guess,) you can stay as long as you like. Its all interactive, and super fun. We had two toddlers with us, so it was perfect in scope and size. It didnt overwhelm them, but it certainly didnt bore them either. Recommend checking it out!
This place is amazing! Something for everyone in the family, young and old. From the fish that will eat your dead skin cells right off your hands, to the tortoise just taking a leisurely stroll through the aquarium, to the water tables and pirate ship to play on, there is so much to do and see beyond a regular aquarium visit. We will be coming back as often as possible for sure!
Kids absolutely loved it . We were still in there when they were asking if we can come back
Kids and I had an amazing time!!! Staff were amazing. I wish they were name tags so I could talk about each one!! They knew my childrens names and invited them back. We live a couple hours away and will definitely be back. The sting rays were amazing. What a great addition to the mall!!
My family enjoyed the Blue Zoo very much. We felt there was plenty to do even though it is a smaller aquarium. My 4 and 2 year old loved to see the fish tanks, touch the sting rays and play in the interactive water table. They were less interested in the birds and reptiles, but I thought the reptile exhibit was interesting.I know people have complained about price, cleanliness and staffing. In my experience, that is inaccurate. Aquariums are expensive to operate and I think the price is fair given that. It is $10 to go to a bounce place for kids, it shouldn’t be $10 to go to an aquarium. The tanks were actively being cleaned the whole time we were there. The staff were present at each exhibit, friendly and shared a lot about the animals.Besides seeing the animals, it was nice to have the interactive tables to make it more for your money.I recommend checking it out. It’s nice to have this in Spokane!
LOVED this place. So much fun for my 2.5 year old daughter and I. We visited during Pirate Day and she got her face painted, and got to hold a sword from the captain. The interactive tables were a hit with her, and she surprisingly really enjoyed the manta rays! Those little guys were my favorite, cutest little sea flap flaps ever. The bird room was a pleasant surprise, Ive always been slightly afraid of birds but these guys were so cute and gentle. All the employees we came across were very friendly and patient, as well as informative. We bought a little wrist-snap manta ray from the gift shop as memorabilia. We will definitely be back :)
We had so much fun today for Princess day. Elsa was a favorite, but she liked Ariel too. Lots of things to see and do. The bird room was fun. Put out your hand with a little bird seed and they are eagerly tempted to swoop down and feast from your hand. Reptile room is fun too. Large tortoise was a hit. Sting Rays were also a favorite.
Friendly staff, love the rays and the parakeets - hope to see it expand someday!
The blue zoo was great wife loved the sting Reys hope to visit again real soon
We loved petting the manta rays and holding all the parakeets. Took my grandson for his 1st birthday. It was well laid out and super fun!
Staff are awesome. Though it is small it is fun and educating
Horrible for birthday partiesWe had tried to book a birthday party thereOn the website it says you can rent the entire room for $150 However when you try to book the room you Cannot you may only rent one table in the room no matter how many guests you have on top of that problem you are NOT able to book a birthday party on a weekend because they said they will loose moneyHow is that ok with working parents also his birthday is during the school year so booking the party meansNot able to enjoy partyNot able to enjoy the zooNot able to stay longParents have to work the next day and kids need to go to bed for school the next day
It was cool ! Like how they did everything! Just wish it was little less on the pocket.
This is a great place to take the kids. There is a lot to explore and a lot of learning opportunities. There are water tables birds reptiles and a large variety of fish. The staff is very friendly. We ended up getting a season pass. Be prepared to see a lot and the staff was great at answering questions about the animals.
This was a ton of fun and I will go again. I just wished the Employee wouldnt wear snakes around their necks, as Im deathly scared of them. My family and I loved this place, such a great idea and experience
My family and I always have such a fun time. Its always well worth it every time.
Bigger then I thought and both the kids and I had so much fun. The sting rays are so friendly when you put your hand in the water they will swim up and push their head against it ️. You can feed them, check out other tanks, birds, and a play area with water for the kids.
We were able to spend the day with our kids. Had a great time petting the stingrays, holding birds, visiting the giant Turtle, watching a pirate show, and readi g with a mermaid
Fun place to visit, perfect for elementary kids but fun for older kids too
So glad this place is here. So many fun hands on activities and lots of little critters to touch and learn about.
My family loved this place!!! Enjoyed all of it! Cant wait to see it grow into an even larger business! The stingrays and jellyfish were my faves!Beautiful decor too :)
So much fun, and affordable too. A must see for kids and parents.
Awsome lots of fun for that family, water table is cool and the petting section is nice as well.
I think the boys would be happy living at the stingray station. Lots of hands on. Great kid gym.
Quaint, in the mall so if you need anything else its there
Our 4 year old daughter is in love with this place and asks to go frequently. From the birds to the lizards to the stingrays, she could spend hours there. From all appearances they take good care of the animals. Its not as big as you might expect, but its in the mall.
So I wasn’t sure what rating to give this but am going with a 5 on account of two things- good experience with the staff, and I was genuinely impressed with some of the unique experiences that can be had here. That being said the aquarium overall would maybe be just a 3.5-4. I’ll start there. As a few others have noted- it does feel unmistakably kid focused, with large swaths of square footage devoted to a pirate ship play area and water works play tables. The play tables are legitimately awesome- the playground.... let’s hope that someday it is replaced with more tank space. Not that the kids won’t love it- but when you’re paying 17$ for an adult ticket, you might risk being a wee bit underwhelmed. Also this is still pretty clearly a new aquarium at the moment, showing in a few prominently labeled but empty tanks, and the obvious baby size of some specimens. That all might sound rather bleak- but I did genuinely enjoy my time here, and as a single adult too. The reef tanks have a lovely and colorful selection of angels, tangs, triggers, and many other delightful tropical species. There was a decent freshwater collection as well, including an electric eel. Several exhibits can be fed for an additional charge- including the archerfish which I really want to do next time maybe. Overall if you’re from an area with a large aquarium then honestly you might be better off with that one- but for us locals than it’s a wonderful addition to the city. Like I mentioned earlier I found the staff to be quite friendly and engaged with their job. After I was done I had a great conversation with one keeper in the gift shop and I really appreciate the passion I felt for inspiring and educating people. The opportunity to get up close to some of Creation’s wildest is incredibly valuable, and tho there may be a few kinks to work out, I’m thrilled that that opportunity is now available to my own students and everyone else in the area. Best wishes Blue Zoo!
I visited Saturday 9/5/2020 and was extremely shocked at what I saw... horrible management... the younger girl wearing a dark shirt (I’m guessing a manager) stayed up front for a majority of the day BSing with another employee... there was only two employees in the aquarium juggling a TON of people, they seemed very stressed most of the time. Its hard going to a place and seeing management putting little to no effort into what they do... I hope changes can be made, for the sake of the customers and other employees.
Such an amazing place to go and take people of all ages. Very immersive. You get the opportunity to be up close to Stingrays, lizards, birds, and a large tortoise to name a few. The pirate and mermaids are great and the kiddos love the large pirate ship. I love the aviary and being so close to the birds. Well recommended.
This was a great adventure for the kids, and anyone who is enthusiastic about animals. My sons and wife all had a great time with the petting tanks, and the boys had fun playing in the interactive play areas.I enjoyed what I could, but there were many empty tanks that would have been more interesting to me, notably the octopus and electric eel tanks. On top of the missing attractions, overall its rather small and even stopping to read an interact with every station you can clean the whole zoo in 20 minutes. For the $80 I payed for two kids, two adults, and one military I dont feel like I got my monies worth. The staff were all polite and friendly, but I dont think its somthing Ill rush back to see.
Great place to take the kiddos to feed stingrays, birds, even a tortus and tons of play areas. Definitely go here!!!
Wonderful place to unwind and de-stress. Family oriented. Worth every penny. Dont forget to buy tokens to feed the stingrays! Gift shop available for souvenirs.
We took our nearly 2 year old little boy here today and he had an absolute blast. There are many activities for kids of every age, the animals are all well cared for, the staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the animals they care for. There are water tables for hands on play and a pirate ship playground inside! My little boy loved touching the Stingrays and they seemed to want to be touched as they kept coming up to his hands for a pet. They even have some small sharks and tropical fish as well. If your kids love animals, this is a wonderful place to go!
Great value! Well staffed! Will definitely return and recommend to friends and family. A small selection of coffee mugs, magnets, postcards, logo tees, etc would all probably do well in your shop.
A great place to take your kids. And if you’re an ocean lover then it’s also for you. It’s obviously not the biggest aquarium, but they did a fantastic job with the space given. The baby shark tank was pretty cool and the stingray petting bay was really neat. Also if you’re going to feed anything, feed the birds. They also have a lot of interactive activities for the kids including two water science tables (you might want to bring the kids spare clothes in case they get too interactive)
My Son was so excited especially feeding the sting rays!!
My son loved visiting. We had concerns with the size of the space, but the layout makes sense and flows well-even on a busy, weekend day. The interactive nature keeps the kids engaged. My son has not stopped talking about his visit. So very happy to see something like this open in Spokane.
The place just opened up so theyre still getting things setup but they have great potential. I think my favorite part so far was the rays area.
This place has been phenomenal.kids and I had a amazing time! This male staff is very nice,my son has a good time with him. We will definitely recommend to every one we know.
Great place to take the kids. Its not huge but Its perfect size for the kids to play and learn.
We loved our trip to the Blue Zoo! Lots to see. Lots of hands on activities for kids and beautiful fish/animals!
I honestly didnt know what to expect because Ive heard the good and the bad, but I truly enjoyed this place! Sure, its not big considering its in the mall, but it made my 5 and 2 year old happy. We absolutely loved feeding the animals (parakeets, sting rays and reptiles)! The parakeets were definitely mine and my 5 year olds favorite. All of the staff that we encountered were awesome!
Love taking my daughter here! Really fun for the whole family!
Excellent place for kids. Yearly subscription is worth every penny. Daily ticketing is high for Spokane economy. Not every average family of four in Spokane can afford shelling out $50 plus for a single visit. They need to reconsider the type of income group being targeted in that specific area of the town. Four stars for the place but three or two stars for pricing.
WonderfulInteractiveKnowledgeable staffGreat for all ages
We had a great time. I suggest going during the week. Not near as crowed. Also, definitely spend the money for tokens to feed the different animals. Worth the money.
I really enjoyed this place, yea its not massive but its well worth $15 to see it. Excited to see the sharks grow!
Absolutely loved the experience. I was having a semi stressful day and decided to stop in spontaneously with my fiance and it was so worth it. Petting the sting rays are so peaceful especially since they love the attention. We also feed the birds. Feeding the birds I must say is what I could only imagine snow white felt like. Bad day? What bad day? I left stress free and a little more educated due to the staffs detailed knowledge of all the Blue Zoos inhabitants.
My wife and I brought our 2 year old here just expecting to walk through some hallways with fish tanks. This is so much more than could ever be expected! Staff are amazing, nothing else like it without going to Seattle and even then, i would choose this place first. Worth every penny. So much that we got the season pass which is something i never do. Keep up the good work and we will definitely be back!
We took a gamble and got the unlimited annual pass for 6 kids, my husband and myself. Well let me tell yall, the gamble paid off!! We have already gone 3 times since they opened last week. We absolutely love it!! From ages 1 to 36, we all had a blast!! Our 15yo loved the birds and reptiles, our 13yo loved the sting ray and touch tanks. Our 12yo loved the saltwater tanks and the mermaids. Our 8 and 6yos loved literally everything in the entire place and kept going back and forth!! Our 1yo favorite part is the sensory water tables!! My husband and I, well we are like the 6 and 8 yo, we loved everything and kept going back and forth!! They have mermaids and pirate shows, they have a 24* foot pirate ship in the middle for kids to play on. The staff is super friendly and very knowledgable. Bubbles(animated sting ray) and the owner teaching everybody the rules to make sure all the animals are safe was awesome and only took a few minutes. They have loads of goodies in their gift shop and you even have an option to purchase tokens to feed some of their creatures. It is wheelchair and stroller accessible. Wanna know the best part...... most of their creatures are rescues!!! Love this place to the moon and back, cant wait to keep going all year!!
My granddaughter loves to visit the variety of ocean creatures!
Friendly staff...super fun learning environment....get to feed alot of the animals.....totally recommend.
3 adults and 7 kids today! Had a blast! Staff was very helpful and informative!!! Super fun!
We love bringing our son to BlueZoo. The fish always look happy and healthy. The water tables are the perfect height to include toddlers like ours. We only wish their were more labels identifying species in the tanks.
It was nice and clean, staff was very friendly and knowledgable. My only complaints is the weekday price in my opinion should be less considering there is no attractions going on. It was over 50 dollars for my my family of 4 and one was free. You would be hard pressed to spend over 2 hours there because of the lack of attractions. Its fun if you have the money I guess. A one time thing I think
Called to see how much just for my daughter and I to go and wow 30$ alone just to go here for an hour or two. Seems pricey! At least if I could just pay for her since she will be the one playing would seem better. So not sure if 30$ is worth it. Just got done reading the reviews and it sounds like its not worth the price so I guess we probably wont be visiting after all!
Helpful, knowledgeable staff who seem to genuinely care about the animals. Great conservation efforts, and an enjoyable, affordable experience!
We had a blast when we visited! Will be purchasing a family season pass for the kids for Christmas! My favorite was the touch tanks! My 2 younger kids loved the pirate ship and water play tables and getting to hold starfish. My oldest really enjoyed the sting ray tank. Thanks so much for a great experience!
We visited right open opening and it was the perfect time. The octopus was out and it wasn’t super busy. Then staff is much more attentive to the care of the animals compared to my first visit when it first opened. We are glad to have the zoo as an asset to Spokane!!
Its beautiful theres feeding times you can pet sting rays, feed birds and you can even have fish eat dead skin off your hands
Loved everything about it, except the bird cage. The area where they keep the birds seemed a bit to small and bit to scary for my daughter.
Its a amazing place to learn many things about a huge variety of animals and also hands on experiences with many animals and creating new experiences
I am so happy to see something like this come to our area. I hope it Does amazing for years to come. I went on a Wednesday evening, it was not overwhelming in the amount of people. I feel like it was really nice that they have people watch the video first, which staggers groups of folks so you dont feel rushed when you get into the first hall with aquariums. I could spend my time to enjoy looking and reading about the animals. The Ray petting tank MAKES this place. I could sit and watch/pet them for hours. I had no idea they seem to love the pets. They could stay down low or away from the people, but they are right there and come up for attention. The birds were so much fun. Get a cup of food, sit down on a bench, and have a good laugh at their little antics trying to get the food out of your hands before the other birds do.It was clean, controlled, and friendly.
So fun. My 9 year old has a blast. The sting Rays are super cool. They water stations are fun for kids and adults. My son loved the fish that clean your skin. We spent 3 hours there and well worth it. Amazing beautiful fish. Bird room is so fun. Thanks blue zoo
This place is awesome my kids loved it. So many fun things for them to do feeding sting rays and birds was there favorite. Highly recommend
I love the variety of things they had available to see especially for a small location! One con was slightly over priced.
