Why in the world did you allow 5G to be installed on the water tower behind the house?! Thats insanity and looks horrible! Makes me uncomfortable to enjoy the gardens. Downtown residence be aware 5G is being installed everywhere. This presents unknown health risk, possible property value drops and is not in keeping with our historic town and Pine preserves. Profit over preservation.

It was closed so I couldnt go inside. However I wandered around outside and looked at the flowers and the little pond etc. There are hiking trails here but I did not walk on them.

Beautiful trails, and then great park for the kids across the street. Use AllTrails for trail details - be sure to check out oldest documented Long Leaf Pine in the world!

We went to watch our son preform and it was spectacular, all the kids played well and really showed their talent. A plus to the day was the history and beauty of the grounds. I love old architecture anyway.

I recently visited Southern Pines and decided to explore this Center. I didnt really realize it was the home of the Boyd family as I had driven over for the NC Literary Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame is actually in what was an office, and all of it is well worth a few hours of time. The home is well preserved with helpful notes for the rooms as well as the Hall of Fame. Additionally, there are beautiful gardens out back that connect into walking trails. I not only enjoyed my visit, but was delighted to meet Marianna-the Office Manager, who is quite knowledgeable about the Center, the Boyd family, the Hall of Fame and the town itself. For those that live in the area, there appear to be many events at the Center, but again, its well worth a few hours if in the area. Really enjoyed my visit.

This place holds a very special place in my heart so the review may be biased for that reason. In my youth the gardens were a place I took my dates to hold hands and be romantic. I rode horses in the Boys Track that boarders it and now I walk there with the family and my dog all year round. The whole place is a true jewel which I hope Southern Pines and the N.C. Park Service project and nourish for generations to come.

I am at this Center two or three times each year, when the North Carolina Poetry Society meets. Its a really handsome, graciously laid out, very well-maintained home and gardens. I cant imagine a better place to meet.

Im not sure whats happening, but this place is falling apart. The beautiful horses are gone and the grounds look terrible. Maybe its because the property is for sale? I feel sorry for anyone who has an event here.

Beautiful grounds, horribly snobbish and insincere people who run the place. Have their own agenda and care little to preserve the true meaning of the Boyd estate.

I have attended several events here as well as accessed the surrounding land for personal recreation - its a great little spot for a variety of things from Pours in the Pines and photo shoots to hiking and walking your dog. Certainly worth exploring for anyone lucky enough to be local to So Pines.
