This is a gem of a local business. Lisa, the owner, goes out of her way to get to know everyone and to create a warm community. While sitting at the bar, I met other knitters and had fun chatting with them. And I got to eat cheese, drink wine, and knitting. What more could I ask for?

I love the Knitting Nook anyway, but Lisa is doing an amazing job of keeping the community going. Shes one of the few places I feel safe going out too right now because of the amazing job shes doing at keeping her customers safe in these uncertain times.

Love this shop. Lisa was so friendly and makes a great sandwich. Homemade mint iced tea and pickle slices are a must try. Yarn selection is limited but high quality. Works by local artists are featured on the walls and are for sale. Very comfortable atmosphere.

Wow, this place is a find. A bit out of the way, but a really sweet location to go for a cup of tea or glass of wine, sit on the couch and read a book. Lisa was wonderful. Will be going back..

The Knitting Nook is such a GEM! The yarn is terrific, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming! Its a great place for delicious food and drink whether you knit or not! The owner, Lisa, is the heart and soul of the place, building a wonderful community of people. If you ever have to dine alone, go to the Knitting Nook! Youll make a few new friends like I did!!! Yarn people: the owner developed the menu to ensure that none of the fibers get infused with food smells! She goes the extra mile!

My friend, Carrie, and I went to the Knitting Nook on Sunday. What a fabulous place! I am so glad this place opened up in South Portland. Its the perfect Neighborhood place to meet for coffee, tee, wine or a beer and to knit. The perfect combination! There are whoopie pies, and other confections from the Two Fat Cats bakery. The bar with the shortbread bottom, a thick layer of caramel and a dark chocolate layer is my favorite! Carrie and I split the cheese and fruit board. Lisa greeted everyone with a big smile and conversation. The yarns were beautiful...Herriott alpacas, Ella Rae, Swans Island, to name a few. There are some sweet baby sweater examples knit up for inspiration. The place is bright, the chairs are comfortable and we cant wait to go back next Sunday!
