Love the views. The prices are steep considering how many tickets they sell per day. The posted hours are not the same as the operating hours. The hours given as actual operating hours are not the same as the ticket sales hours. Had to go back three days in a row to actually catch a ride.
Wow! The Heavenly Gondola at South Lake Tahoe...makes the entire trips funding well worth it all!Not only are the staff well organized and available, but they make you feel completely safe, as the Gondola takes you up to the top of the mountain!And the VIEW is outstanding! Worth the trip! Kid friendly, and the VIEW is spectacular...you get a birds eye view of Lake Tahoe, South Lake - actually the entire lake, Carson Valley, etc.You have to take this trip ...10 stars!
Views on the gondola are lovely — lake, forest, skiers in the winter and hikers in the summer. The ride is smooth with little rocking, the cabin is a pretty good size, and they don’t tend to pack people in.Weather conditions/wind intensity will change if or how long the gondola stays running; they do a great job updating status info on their website.There’s a midpoint scenic viewing platform you can stop and get off at. Sometimes they’ll have a photographer there and you can see your photos at the base in the village.

We visited Heavenly Ski Resort this February and rode the Gondola to the top. It was a nice long ride and since it was in the middle of the week we had the car to ourselves. It was a gorgeous ride, looking back there were beautiful views of Lake Tahoe and the surrounding peaks. Looking up the mountain were great views of the forest and mountainside. Make sure and stop at the Mountain Lookout for fabulous views of the lake and surrounding mountains. There is a restroom and gift store at the Lookout. At the top there are plenty of places to walk and and there are other activities such as the Mountain Rollercoaster and Tubing. There is a nice lodge for food and hot beverages. It is a bit expensive but well worth it in my option.
I am very angry. Website says gondola opens at 0930. Drove from Reno to have a fun day only to arrive and find the gondola is closed. It said the resort was closed but gondola opens at 0930. If the gondola IS the resort then it should not show a 0930 opening. SHAME ON YOU!!
Though one’s experience at this place might vary according to the weather conditions, but I suggest that June would be a fine month to go there. It is a beautiful place. Once you reach the top end of gondola ride (2nd stop), you must take the sky-ride, because it gives a very beautiful view. It’s a must visit destination.
It would be nice when coming from out of state, during a pandemic, when youve carefully researched what you might still be able to do while camping and weighed your options and decided to make the drive, it would be nice for information online to be accurate... like many other places in Tahoe, this place has decided to close for the season with no warning while their online presence and individual website still says theyre open and running.
They dont answer the phone and website and voicemail is telling costumers to buy the tickets online. When we arrive there they tell us is close for maintenance and have no clue if they are going to open. How hard can be to do maintenance before opening or at the very least show they are close in their website and voicemail.
Awesome views up and down. Tons of activities at the top and the observation deck is just cool. Never seen the lake or area like this before without being in a plane. Amazing!

We went up the gondola in summer time. Looks a little different with no snow but always beautiful. The many colors that make tahoe at 9,150ft. 2.4 mile ride up in the Heavenly Mountain Gondola will leave you breathless as you take in panoramic views of Lake Tahoe. On your way up, stop at the Observation Deck for photos, a latte at Cafe Blue or a unique Heavenly souvenir at The Gondola Sports shop. Once you get to the top, head up the Tamarack Express chairlift with your Scenic Gondola ticket for some of the best views of Lake Tahoe and access to a series of hiking trails, ranging from beginner
The roller coaster was a blast! Great views on the way up even with a smokey sky.
A must do! $53 a person seemed like a lot however we didn’t regret it. Fabulous views and great fun. Go prepared

I visited here in summer season. This is the most attractive place of South Tahoe. The ride experience was an amazing one. The ride has 2 stops. While going from bottom to top, we can see the beauty of the lake and entire Tahoe. First stop, you can watch the beauty of Tahoe and lake. You can take pictures. Next stop, you can relax, there are some activities and rides like zip lines. Highly recommend.
This was a great stop on our Tahoe trip. The views on the first stop were great and we captured some amazing photos. Once we got to the top the kids had so much fun playing in the snow. There is no limit on how much time you spend, just leave by closing. This was one of our favorite stops on our vacation.
Hey, if you’re in South Lake Tahoe you cannot pass this up. With clear sky’s you can see forever, but with clouds it’s like a cool steam room, very neat experience!
I paid for me and my wife to go up the gondola. I was told there was a wind advisory that could close the gondola but was not told that there was low visibility on the mountain. When we got to the top we couldn’t see anything so we rode it back down. I requested a refund since we weren’t told about the low visibility but didn’t get anything back. I pretty much spent $142 to look at clouds

Beautiful up here! We found this spot by accident doing a scenic drive around Tahoe. They have tons of places to eat and fun for the whole family! And if you like shopping they have a bunch of stores with different varieties here as well. You can come and have fun here in the Summer and in the Winter. We will be coming back her much more now!
This was my first time here, I loved views of lake and forest. It was most beautiful views around, covered with snow. Must visit the vista point at the top of mountain, and ski area is also awesome. I would like try that next time.
There are many ski resorts by Lake Tahoe but this one was so great! Even though we couldnt see Emerald Bay from the top due to foggy weather it still had a nice view and it has alot of activities!
Heavenly Gondola is one of the icons in South Lake Tahoe. Its a beautiful scenic ride w/ two stops. The first stop is where you can take photos of the of our wonderous lake. Then up to the top, where you can enjoy great places to eat, and then off to the slopes!
I was hesitant at first because of high ticket prices (especially because I was not here for activities -- this was purely for the scenary), but decided to trust reviews that said that a one-time ride was worth it. It surely was. The view of Lake Tahoe up in the mountain was breathtaking and the gondola ride was a lot of fun for kids.
Everything was great, besides for the women we bought out gondola tickets from. One of the rudest service people Ive ever dealt with told the family to shut up and to be quiet multiple times. Ill try and remember not to be excited at a new place ever again!
Amazing experience! The ride is pretty steep and that makes it really exciting. The gondola ride and the stop over had amazing views of the lake. Great for kids of all ages too, specially for 3+ who can participate in the activities at the top. Will go there again and again!

If you havent done the Gondola in Heavenly before...you need to! Its amazingly worth it, you could spend all day at the top, there is an tire village at the top to do things with the family and kids :)

This is an awesome way to go to the top of the mountain and have an amazing view of Lake Tahoe from the top! You can see the entire lake once your at the top. It costs 53$ for a person but it’s totally worth it. There are two levels. If you get down in the first level there is a nice view and a cafe! And then the ride goes to the top. Over there, there are lots of fun activities like tubing, zip line etc. Definitely do this if you are in Tahoe!
It was beautiful up the mountain! The food was good and the Observation Deck was cool. Lots of space for people who just want to play in snow and not snowboard/ski. Overall, great experience.

The first stop on the way up is the observation deck and plan to spend some time here because the views are just breathtaking. The second and last stop is where the activities take place. Seemed pricey at first but I think its worth it.

I have lived here 30 yrs and dont ski, therefore never been to the top. I finally took the gondola and realized why i never did before $50. It was enjoyable and a beautiful view but eehh! This is one place that does not do local discounts...lame!

I have ridden on similar gondola rides in Austria, Switzerland, and Vermont. All three were cheaper, and had much better views.Once you get to the top there are a lot of out door as adventure activities (rope course, zip lines,etc). These of course are at an additional cost.

This is a must do while in Tahoe.My wife and I went up on a Sunday and it was not crowded at all, we got right on it. The views from the Midway observation deck are absolutely breath taking. You can see the entire Tahoe basin, and the air is so refreshing. The food and drink and both the Midway deck and the peak are expensive, but its expected as it is an isolated area on the top of a mountain.Even in the hight of summer they recommend and light jacket just in case, because it is near 9000ft.

This boat ride may be a little pricey but I loved every minute. Lots of information given to guests about local history and legend. Landmarks were helpfully pointed out. Alcohol and Food are served and though I did not partake it looked tasty. The views you can get from almost any part of the boat weather sitting inside or out on the deck are gorgeous. My only qualm was that the informational video played on the return to dock was as old if not older than myself. It would be intresting to see some of the things they spoke about with modern technology.

Went up with wife and kids on Monday. Ticket office never told us that the Ridge Rider Mountain Coaster is only open on weekends and trails are only open to people with skis.Very expensive for what it is. It has nothing offer for non-skiers

A very beautiful and breath taking gandola ride from South lake Tahoe to the heavenly village and ski mountains. Its a very long ride around 25 mins one way. There are 2 stops on the way, the observation deck has great views of the Lake and surrounding. Then the ride takes you further up to base of ski mountains. There is tarmac lodge there and multiple ski spots. The ride is 62$ for single trip. Its on slightly higher side, but then the gandola ride is long and takes on top of the mountains . A must to thing if you are in lake Tahoe, even if you do not want to do sking

Very nice experience. Just think the prices are outrageous. 55.00 for 2 hamburgers and French fries. It included a fountain drink or water. My bottle of Pepsi was 7.25, OUCH!!

What an experience !!!! The view from above is just breathtaking. The gondola ride itself is so good with the best view of lake all the way till we reach above the mountains. Wish could take more rides. It can never be enough. Once you reach the top there is a small restaurant they dont have much food option. Would suggest eat enough before ride.There are few paid parking lots nearby which are hourly based. Also there is Street Parking with 2 hour maximum. There are lot of places to eat and relax too.
Gondola was fun to ride and the view of Lake Tahoe was great on the way back down. We purchased the all day adventure pass and rode the Gondola twice during the day.

No matter where you go up there youre going to love it in South Lake Tahoe but you must take the Heavenly tram up to Heavenly Valley the top of the mountain youre going to really love that.

Fast, efficient and wildly expensive transport up and down the mountain. Stop off half-way up for great views across Lake Tahoe (you cannot stop there on the way down).
