The actual gallery collection is pretty small, but has some nice pieces. The student art show was good as well.
Great events. Enjoyed the scholastic event and all the young peoples art
The South Bend Museum of Art has been an ever evolving entity in our Community. It serves as a voice for both modern and contemporary artists as well as providing instruction for people of all ages. I love this place. A MUST see. I bring visiting friends so they can enjoy the experience.
Its a small art museum, a great stop if youre exploring South Bend.
The price was right - donations accepted. There were some interesting pieces on display, a small shop, and nice dimension with an upstairs to explore, as well. I liked the windows over the St. Joseph River, offering a nice view. The walkway over the road was probably my favorite part.
There are four small galleries with mostly local work or art pieces from the region. I wouldnt go out of my way to visit, but if youre in the neighborhood, it may be fun to take a quick look.
Not so big, but definitely big enough to spend a good half an hour, to an hour (depending on the sort on exhibits)
Take the kids, then enjoy downtowns restaurants and stretch your legs on the river walk.
Weve taken advantage of the clay class for about 7 years for our daughter. Purchasing a membership is a great way to save on multiple classes each year!
It is a great museum. However it is very small. You can see all the exhibits in under a hour.
Space could be utilized way better... more art!!
Great place for local artists to show their work. Worth the visit.
A nice venue for art exhibitions.
Always a nice place to visit.
Had a wonderful time looking at all of the exhibits :)
Not alot of art here.
I visited the museum on Sunday, March 4th with my 9 year old daughter and was disheartened to hear 2 of the individuals working within the gallery doing nothing but chatting loudly with intense profanity. Both were older African Americans, one lady and one man. It is very disheartening that such a beautiful gallery would chose to promote such ambassadors that are more concerned about recanting their life stories with no regard to small children hearing their profane utterings. Unreal actually. Whether these people are volunteers or not is unknown to me, however they should exhibit professional conduct. The whole incident really ruined our experience.
Its a nice setting and beautiful place, but overall kind of a hokey museum. Nothing really outstanding in the way of collections. I would still visit again.
Great place for avents
Free and fun
Pricey, but nice place to kill a half hour while waiting for an appointment!
Beautiful place
Im just not impressed with this museum it lacks something.
Quite interesting
Would like more art
Love it!!
A South Bend treasure!
