Walking into the Lisa Kristine Gallery, one is impressed and amazed by the artistry of the photography. But, when the delightful, knowledgeable and very professional gallery director came up to us with a big smile, we started to learn the story behind these amazing art pieces. The photographer/artist is truly making the world a better place through her work. The gallery presentation and the director bring it all together. Amazing place. A must see when you visit Sonoma.

In an era of divisive politics, challenging economies, and fear monger if, the photographs shown here are a reminder that we all inhabit the same small world. I entered as a tourist and after spending over an hour here talking with the delightful gallery director, left a little more positive about humanity.

My daughter is an anthropology major in college. We spent the day in Sonoma learning local history. As soon as we entered this art gallery the Gallery Director was extremely rude and unfriendly. No wonder nobody was in there. Very unprofessional.

The photography was beautiful. Would have liked to linger longer, but the staff person was somewhat rude to my preteen son. We left quickly since as tourists we did not feel welcome. Ill have to enjoy the photographers work online only.

Excellent photography. The current exhibit on slavery is very moving. 3 years ago I bought one of prints at the Celebration of Craftswomen in Ft Mason because I loved her work. Now, to see her work in a gallery was terrific.

Lisa Kristine Gallery: Inspiring Unity Through ImageryI first met Lisa Kristine at Archbishop Desmond Tutu’s 85th birthday celebration in Cape Town, South Africa. I knew she was a global humanitarian photographer but honestly did not fully understand her impact. During my last visit to the bay area in California, my friend took me to visit Lisa’s gallery in Sonoma and we were both impressed. We knew she did great work and had seen various photos online and in her books. Nothing compares to her gallery displays with the beautifully framed photos enlarged with accent lights brightening these global masterpieces. Her photos capture such beautiful images of people and nature with rich mesmerizing colors. I found the gallery engaging and captivating. She truly creates inspirational work. You can explore cultural diversity, religious expressions and the human condition. I already love traveling but her images helped reignite that passion for seeing the world. I want to learn more about her and work after. While at the gallery you can immerse yourself in her gallery viewing the exquisite images on the wall, flip through the pages in her books and watch snippets of her documentaries. I have also been motivated to learn more about modern slavery and Lisa Kristine’s global efforts. When I got home, I re-watched her TED Talk on modern slavery and began exploring her website. The following weekend, I watched the film “Sold” which has a character inspired by Lisa Kristine. I hope to see one of her exhibitions in Chicago and look forward to returning to the gallery when in Sonoma. Thank you Lisa Kristine for the work that you do to make this world a better place.
