A really chill tattoo studio full of great art and artists. Reilly covered my knuckles and I couldnt be more pleased with the results, especially since my options were limited by the previous tattoo.

Drew is the best in portraits. Every artist there is good at what they do. I personally been there 3 times and always paid a reasonable price

Im sure these guys would do okay with trace jobs but DO NOT go in if you want any more than that. I went in wanting a beautiful image that was an interpretation of A Starry Night by Van Gogh and I ended up with a chicken scratch, god awful tattoo that a 5 year old could have done. And at the top I had the Big Dipper and the lines connecting it arent even straight.

Neil England is one of the best artists globally. I cant recommended him enough. Ive had a lot of work done by him and generally I give him an idea and let him run with it because I trust his expertise to make it look awesome. He hasnt let me down in 10+ years.

Very comfortable first tattoo experience :) everyone is super friendly. Corii made a really special custom piece for me and I couldnt be happier with it. Would recommend to anyone looking for small pieces or larger projects. Will definitely be coming back :)

Came here to get a tattoo with Joe and had a great time! Besides absolutely loving my piece, the shops relaxed and everyone is super chill and fun.

One of my favorite tattoo shops in MA. Looking for some true custom art, look for Coralynn Rowell. She is creative, customer focused, and a true artist. The shop itself is clean, with a great reception area and service. Ive seen them take all walk-ins no matter how insane the ask is, and someone is always there to help. I also appreciate how you can put gratuity on your credit card since Ive been places that do not offer that feature. Highly recommend for a good tattoo experience. The artists are all professional with a lot of experience and the front desk is run very efficiently with friendly, effective customer service.

Maybe the tattoo artist is no longer there but i had a horrible experience. Said they couldnt do a tattoo smaller than a quarter dollar. And they filled in my tattoo with the same needle she outlined with. I didnt know any better hope you do or this post helps. Not only was it extremely painful, it looks so cheap.

Dope place with fun people. Have gotten all of my tattoos here for years with Moge. Highly recommend. Moge is an inspired artist who takes pride in his work, and is just a cool guy to talk to. Extremely satisfied with all of my tattoos.

Joe is why I love this place.

Spent a decent amount of money on a large tattoo, tipped very well and couldn’t even get scheduled in for a touch up a few weeks later, kept on getting the run around from Joe, I was finally told I can get a spot if I wanted more extensive continued work done.From the beginning I had no direct line of communication with my artist and was forced to deal with his extremely unorganized, rude, unprofessional, assistant/apprentice Joe. Overall it was a decent tattoo but a horrible experience, poorly run business that has no concept of customer service, go somewhere else.

Incredibly customer friendly. Artists are flexible with scheduling. Ive been getting tattoos for six years from different shops all over the Boston area. Empire is the shop, I want to get all of my work done from now on.

Good studio. I wouldnt get a tattoo by Ramon though. Theres a reason why he is always available. Im in the process of getting his tattoo removed. Very disappointed with tattoo the shading came out so bad im getting the whole tattoo lightened so I can get it covered up.

These guys and gals are incredible. The space is professional and comfortable, with rooms for each artist and their customer. My artist was very patient with me, and the owner was personable. They booked me immediately and I couldnt have asked for better or more professional work.

The guy at the front desk at Empire Tatoo was very helpful when it came to figuring out what i was trying to accomplish and very knowledgeable about all the different artist that worked their and what i needed to do in order to have a successful and great experience on my future visit at Empire. I appreciated the professional work ethics and looking forward to going back.

Neil England is a all around incredible, award winning artist, who did a incredible cover/ fix on a hack tat that was a embarrassment on my arm... half way done and its ALREADY 10x better looking! Pretty grateful!

My artist, coralynn, was fast and friendly and entertaining. My tattoo ended up exactly as I wanted it and she was very thorough with care instructions and took a photo of it for her snapchat. Very fun experience, I was a walk in and was out within about 45 minutes.

I found this shop a couple of years ago and Ive been seeing Neil England for cover-up work. His rate has gone up a bit but his work is phenomenal and you wont find another artist who can do what he does! Great atmosphere and easy location to get to!

The receptionists (maybe artists, we dont know because they werent very welcoming) didnt look up from their phones even though I waited patiently for about 10 minutes directly in front of them. They continued a side conversation and refused to make eye contact or welcome us. This poor customer service is a shame for a local business and I will not return.

Im sure they would do a great job with anything thats like a trace job but DO NOT go in if you want anything more than that. I’ve been seeing Neil here for over a year for a complete rework of my back piece and sleeve. I brought both my son and nephew to him for their first tattoo and he did an amazing job. I just wouldn’t trust anyone else.

Coralynn was amazing!!!

I went here to get a second tattoo, just script done on my side. I was hoping it would turn out amazing.The tattoo artist was very friendly and seemed like he knew what he was doing. When I got home I was able to see that my script was pretty messed up. Some of the letters were crooked, the back end of my tattoo was not aligned with the front. I was very upset considered getting the tattoo removed completely. I did raise my complaint to Empire, and the woman I spoke with was very rude on the phone. She told me to just come in and hed fix it, I was hesitant and asked if he could show me how it would look prior to fixing it and she said no, to just come in and hed fix the tattoo. When I did come in I asked him to take a look to see what he could do to fix the tattoo. There was more than one aspect of the tattoo that was messed up but he only focused on one of the letters, so I said Id have to think about it and come back. I just ended up going somewhere else that could fix it for me because I just couldnt trust him to do a good job the second time around.

Staff was very nice ! I had Ray as my artist and he was patient and also quick. He talked to me through my first two tattoos and made the experience awesome! The location is a little odd (in the middle of almost nowhere) but its worth it!

Empire Tattoo Boston (Somerville) is my favorite shop to get tattooed at.The staff here feels more like a family than a tattoo studio.The artists are always helping each other like a collective -it doesnt feel like anyone here is just renting a chair.And theres so much talent to choose from!Ive gotten pieces from Neil England, Coralynn Rowell,Ramon Negron, Drew Vetrano, Moge,and their guest artists Ken Dean and Yang Li.I cant wait for my next appointment!
