I am a member of Somers National Golf Club since it’s previous year inception. I played this golf course the last 20 years while managed by different owners. However, this is the first time I/we have noticed many t improvements to the golf course and in the course management. Here are few important changes every golfer will notice and appreciate; the course is made golfer friendlier and therefore attracts more players – some trees were removed (this opens fairways), sand traps are properly maintained, cart paths were repaired, several tee boxes are being re-done, all new golf carts (GPS equipped) are properly maintained and cleaned after every round, starter controls tee time. The general manager and the owner are always available and promptly answer phone calls, the flexible golf fees accommodate all players according to their needs and there is no initiations fee; become a member.

A challenging golf course, especially from blue tees. But great renovation must be put into fairways and tee boxes as they are damaged heavily!

Somers is recommended for better players. Few (if any) of the holes are forgiving; the golfer needs to hit the ball where it needs to go; so Im not sure I would recommend Somers for really bad golfers (or absolute beginners). Pretty much the entire course is uphill, downhill, dogleg left, dogleg right, deceptively long (or deceptively short) or otherwise, well, just not easy. This is not a grip it and rip it sort of course; being long wont necessarily help, either; tho it could come in handy on a couple of places. The views from several tees, especially 10, are lovely. the course is generally very well maintained and pretty; tho maintenance is sometimes off (Im not sure why; maybe the head maintenance guy takes vacations? But best of all, sometimes all courses close to my home are booked solid but Somers has a cancellation, so I can race over to Somers for a round. Its not the penalty box; except walking on a 100 degree day can be brutal. In my opinion, if you can hit the ball 100 yards in reasonably the right direction, you can play Somers and should give it a try. If you are a good golfer, definitely give it a try.

Recently played in their par 3 event. Had a really great time! The greens were difficult and challenging which only added to the fun. The course pros joined on a few holes which was also entertaining.. they were light hearted and funny guys. The food and drink selection was fantasticThe staff was attentive and quick.. I’ve since returned and only had more fun. Can’t wait to be back.

The new owners are working hard to deliver a great golf experience to members and the public. They are committing financial resources to the course itself and it is visible in everything from tree work to cart path repairs, greens improvements, tee box renovations, and practice area enhancements. The staff is helpful and friendly. This is a club that is striving to improve every day.

I give it 5 stars because it deserves it. Its all about the experience and the people who run it make that experience extremely pleasurable. The new management works hard to deliver a 5 star product. I have played here on a number of occations and have never been disappointed. If you have never played here before give it a try I am sure your experience will be as good as mine. The only thing Somers National cant do for you is improve your swing that you are going to have to do on your own.

Great golf course in very good condition. The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. The ownership group has made many improvements over the last year and has plans to continue this with significant improvements over the next couple of years. I’ve been a member for over 20 years and the course is in the best shape it’s ever been.

Ive played in two separate events at Somers over the past two months and each time I left extremely satisfied with a strong desire to come back for more! The staff were right on point and spread throughout the course to offer a a helpful tip or to ensure that the entire operation was running as smooth as possible. The course itself proved incredibly challenging, offering picturesque views of the Hudson Valley on a perfect fall day. I will definitely be returning as soon as I can for another round.

Friendly, well managed course. Tee times go off on time. Starter & marshals keep pace flowing. Nicely stocked Puma brand pro shop. Great instruction by the Head Pro, Rich Corsetti. Improved my play this summer.High amount of rounds played this year played havoc with some of the teeing grounds, which are being addressed. August conditions - hot & dry, affected some greens adversely with hydrophobic fungus generation, but in the main, the ball rolled true and fast.

The owners are incredibly accommodating. Course renovation has provided a challenging and more golfer friendly atmosphere. Teaching pro Rich Corsetti is an outstanding instructor and has a knack for identifying and correcting flaws without Draconian changes . The entire golf experience here is wonderful. They make you feel like we’re all part of a great family.

Ive played here a few times and have enjoyed it. Friendly management and pro shop. Its a fairly tight course with a lot of doglegs as it is nestled within a community, but it is a fun course to play. Conditions have never been something to complain about. I wouldnt want to own a home right alongside some of the holes, thats for sure! :)

Love this place, if you never played here yet I would highly recommend you book a tee time! Owners, staff and the course are Above Par.Today I had my first ever course playing lesson Rich Corsetti, Director of Instruction. It was fabulous! I learned some different techniques to lower my score while playing a round of golf.

Scenic course, some challenging holes and layouts that require some thought and some luck for the average weekend golfer. Were always treated well by the staff. Hopefully it stays well-maintained and drainage improvements continue.

This is a tough, narrow course that tests ones ball-striking. There are no easy greens and the topography can fool you when it comes to reading them. The tee boxes and cart paths could stand work, but over-all . . . bring your A game.

Awesome course - I have played this entire week during my vacation and it continues to challenge me each time out. The staff is extremely friendly and the course manager runs a very professional operation. Recently, the measure taken in response to the social distancing mandates have been phenomenal. The snack and beverage cart at the turn has great options, and pace of play is always great.

First time and last time for me. Perfect example of putting an 18 hole course in an area too small for 18 holes. If you decide to play, dont walk and they should tell you, your going to be spending the day going up and down a very hilly course. Narrow fairways are the result of not enough space and that means way to many dog legs. I dont mind a dog leg but not being able to cut the corner, which you cant and having to lay up isnt an optimal designed course. I guess their was a reason they still had a 12:06 Sunday tee time, on Thursday when just about every other course around was booked. The best thing I can say was everyone working there was very polite, professional and friendly. If you decide you have play, dont walk, Again, dont walk. Climbing up and down the hills will take too much out of your game. And they really should let you know before you start a round that its going to be a workout.

Not worth playing at. Greens were burnt out. Overall maintenance needs to be done all over the place. No coolers allowed for anything (including our waters), but they will sell you a bucket of beers that melts and gets hot fast.

My favorite part about the club is the staff! I can always count on the team to make my day (shout out to Jimmy- he is the BEST).A lot of effort has clearly been put into making the course safe, clean, and socially responsible during COVID- carts are deep cleaned, the pro-shop and bathrooms are spotless, and the check in staff in the parking lot and starters review rules and best practices with each group. The course is beautiful and well maintained- I find the back nine more challenging then the front nine but love both equally. Overall have had nothing but great experiences and am already excited to go back.

Somers National has seen a lot of work in recent years. I’ve played numerous times with friends this season and look forward to getting back there soon. The challenging greens make you really focus on your game. New carts and work on cart paths have helped to make the experience even better. Would highly recommend for those looking for a great, unique course!
