Went for the Batey farms sunflower fields. Absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful experience. They had a snow cone vendor. Cut flowers were available for sale and props for rent. Lots of families taking pictures and enjoying the fields. What I saw of the grounds and museum was pretty, but the lost cause interpretation is still apparent. Seems like theyre making an effort to be more inclusive.

Beautiful place & grounds. Havent yet explored the museum parts as I have only been here to bring my toddler to their Toddler Tuesday events that happen once a month (last Tues of the month all year long). Its only $5 for the kids event! They also host other family friendly events throughout the year. Super friendly staff, plenty of free parking, nice gift shop w/snacks +beverages available to buy as well.

This is the site of Batey farms sunflower show this year. Fees go to non-profit group. The Sam Davis home itself looks interesting: an educational opportunity about the war, slavery, how people lived in his time. As a history nut, I would find it interesting. However, not sure how long children would.

The tour guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. I was saddened to see the damage to the property from the airplane crash last year, and was disappointed the Navy wouldnt honor its obligation to make repairs to a federally recognized historic site. I truly enjoyed my visit and will return again.

Another place my cousin from South Dakota wanted to visit. we took her and enjoyed it so much especially the tour guide and Im sorry I cannot remember his name but he had a lot of information to share and he took pictures of us which I thought was wonderful customer service. Ive lived here for a lot of years and have never been until she came down to visit. One place you should visit, has a lot of history. A lot of the history is sad but history is history and we learn from it.

First let me tell you, it was pouring down rain and Taylor still showed us around, he did a phenomenal job. I would have never expected him to do what he did yet he did it like a pro. He was drenched and didnt once complain. Now about this place. Before we came, we had no clue who Sam Davis was but after we left, our hearts cried out for him. What a true American hero! His story and this experience moved me. If you are in town and have the time, I highly recommend this place. We did the battlefield and this place. If you only have time for one, do this over the other!

The land is beautiful! The Wine on the Veranda was a nice event. We really enjoyed ourselves when we didnt think too much about where we were. And I know that this was a home of Confederates but I wish they focused more on the fact that they had slaves instead of honoring the owners. I also didnt like the selling of Confederate flags or the fact that they were hanging around. It is history, so put one in a case and display it in the museum but dont have them hanging around and for sell. If they are trying to attract new people to the place, I believe they will have to change things so that everyone feels comfortable. A statue or some kind of memorial to the people who were slaves there would be a great. And I thinking adding some diversity to the staff could help with that.

One of the few historic homes that still has family furniture, carpet and wallpaper... Even the skeleton key and lock, (and the rose bushes Ive heard are from the time the family lived there). The property went from the family to the state of Tennessee directly... Wonderful tour and historical experience.

Not much information on the son. But lots of good information about the familys history and how his demise came about. Great tour. We did the house and grounds tour. Takes about an hour an a half. Watch the video at the beginning, itll cover things about Sam. Great tour.

Came all the way down from New York state to see this place and it wasnt even open! Hours are posted 10am to 4pm Monday thru Saturday and we tried two times to see it! Very disappointed! They should post on the web AND on the gate when they arent going to be open during their regular hours so people dont waste their time coming down here!!!!

This place is incredible! Its a beautiful property and the people who work there are wonderful and some of the nicest people I have met. I had a birthday party for my 1 year old daughter and they made it so easy. The museum was great and I absolutely encourage people to check this place out, especially for events.
