We have participated in bottling events, dessert pairings, and cheese pairings. Additionally, we rented the facility for the rehearsal dinner for our daughters wedding and were very pleased. The staff and owners are always fun, courteous and helpful while maintaining their professionalism. The menu changes several times a year and the bartenders always seem to top the drink recipes with each change. A fun place, close to home, where we always see friends or family. Top notch!

Excellent fall cocktails right now! Bourbon Maple Cider was perfect on a cold night!

Drove 2.5 hrs to try their bourbon and rye whiskey, was well worth the trip. With ample parking and an absolutely stunning facility, if you like quality spirits, go to this distillery. To top it off, the staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. Looking forward to enjoying the multiple bottles I purchased.

The tasting hosted by Ron was very thorough as he wanted to be sure that you truly understood and appreciated tasting their products. Great drink selections at the bar, we had an opportunity to try drinks we wouldnt typically order when out. Everything was delicious, definitely planning to visit again!

A perfect way to spend an evening, if you have time do the tour it was most excellent and a really nice way to try things you normally would not. I really liked their gin and I am not a gin drinker at all. The bar was lovely and the drinks were amazing!

We have and continue to enjoy our visits to The Painted Stave Distillery. Enjoyed tours and the bottle of vodka given after the tour. Enjoyed brunch on the patio with excellent beverages. The design of the garden is great, relaxing. Much more to try in the future. Well worth the time. Try it out.

Absolutely great experience. We were a group of 7 and we all loved it. The cocktails a reasonably priced, the tour includes the history of the building and how the owners got started in addition to the technical stuff. The sampling was the best and proves they stand by their products

This was our first visit, but we will be back. The drinks were amazing, I had the salted caramel white Russian and it was so yummy. The tour was very interesting and the tasting afterwards was a true tasting. It was fun and educational. The two owners are so very nice. We bought some spirits to take home with us. All in all its a great way to spend an afternoon. I highly recommend it.

Everyone is so nice here. We recently went on the tour after multiple visits of just stopping by to try out their drink menu (changes by season). We had a great time during the tour and the tastings too. Definitely coming back for their winter menu because it is my personal favorite!

All the spirits are great but I especially love the rye. Both the rye and bourbon are delicious and unique. I buy it somewhat regularly. Have a cocktail while visiting. The drinks are fantastic.

A great place for cocktails. We usually go for their pairings (Seriously, go to one. No wait. Dont. Thatll make tickets hard to get.) Having said that, just go for a tour or go for a drink. Dont be afraid to try everything. Off The Hoof is fantastic, even if you dont like scrapple.

I had a private cocktail held here for my 30th birthday. From the planning stages to the class my expectations were always exceeded. Helpful staff, wonderful spirits, and a comfortable atmosphere. Definitely recommended!

We have been to the distillery in Smyrna twice and had excellent cocktails both times. Ive sampled all the whisky and enjoyed them for their individuality and uniqueness. We are very partial to the rye, quite outstanding, and I also like the smoked corn whisky as well. As a Delawarean, the Off the Hoof Scrapple infused Vodka is a joy to the taste buds, a matter of pride, and a staple of my bloody marys and dirty martinis. This is seriously good distilling, available at the source and at better liquor stores in the Delmarva area.

The tour was very informative and really cool to see the equipment. Mike made the tour fun and kept it moving along. Even though Im not a big alcohol drinker, I still participated in the tasting and to my surprise enjoyed a few of the spirits. My favorite was the Honey and Gin. I would definitely recommend a trip to the distillery. The staff were very upbeat and friendly. Their drinks are very creative and delicious!

The tour was a perfect mix of knowledge transfer, tasting experience and Delaware law making backstory. I highly recommend it and am enjoying my Pot Still Whiskey. Ron finally taught us on how to sniff spirits correctly.

Ron was very enthusiastic about what he does and has all the information other distillers skip over. If youre new or an occasional drinker of distilled spirits he will walk you through the tasting process at the end of the tour.

The Painted Stave is a high quality niche/craft distillery. As a craft beer and bourbon drinker, i was intrigued to try their work, and Ron & Mike know their product and let you in on how they make their spirits. The aroma and flavors in the spirits are quite something - definitely stop in for a taste! If you have the time, take the tour - i love the fact these 2 gentlemen converted an old theatre and you can feel the history and culture in the facility.

Check their Facebook wall for events. They allow people from the community to hand bottle their product, which is pretty cool. They even let you sign the bottles you produce. We did the tour and the building has some pretty cool history as an old movie theater. The tour was informative and the tasting was really great. Intimate setting where you get to flex your taste buds by trying some of their different liquors. I highly suggest you buy the groupon. You get a tour for 2 for 28 bucks and a free bottle of vodka... the vodka alone costs 28 bucks.

The tour was great and our bartender Ally(ie) was amazing! The tastings were set up so you have to use your nose and palate to enjoy the different spirits and pick out the flavors. They do not tell you which spirit you are trying until afterwards. Very enjoyable. Recommend the White Russian.

At $10 the tour is really a public service. It starts with a cocktail (included), moves to a tour of the distillery, then concludes with a tasting of many of their products. The owners were very friendly and relaxed. There was no pressure to buy anything, but after the tasting I certainly did!

The Scarlett (cranberry) vodka is perfectly tart and really tasty. The rye is on point! The owner is super friendly and loves to explain their processes and ingredient sources.

Beautiful renovation of a well preserved 1940s theater. great tour! And the drinks were superb. Well worth a stop on the way to the beach.
