What can I say this place is just amazing! I lived on Long Island all my life finding places like doesn’t cease to amaze me.

Nice small park for a quick afternoon walk. Parking is limited and you do have to pay 8 dollars, but its worth it for a pleasant family outing.

Great place to go walking. They have a few good walking trails. It was free the day we went on Sunday.

Went there to explore the trails which were admirably well-marked. The highlight though is the lovely pond/bridge/gazebo area. Also as with the admission fee parks, the machines seem to malfunction or are no longer scanning drivers licenses for 62+ seniors. Having to pay the $8.00 fee is unfortunately a hardship for some and will discourage another visit.

Great trails if you are looking to got for a walk. All the trails are well marked and easy to follow for anyone. Trails are of varying distance. I love that there is an accessible trail!The small museum on the property has some local history and Flora and fauna exhibits. This is a park worth returning to.

Great trails but smaller then expected. Other state parks in area are larger for more quality hikes. Very friendly staff there. Parking water element and history postings throughput park.

Beautiful and peaceful. Must get there during last weeks of October on order to enjoy the autumn leaf colors.

This state park boasts well maintained and marked trails. Very fortunate to have this nature preserve so close to home!

This is a great park. There is parking. Its very woodsy and fill of deer, quiet and pretty in the winter. Running streams.

Good views and a great look into what new York used to be. A mud pile. Free in the winters!

Caleb Smith SP is one of the most scenic and quiet parks on LI which is great since it allows for peaceful walks around the various trails. There is a nice pond near the entrance as well as a museum showcasing the different species of wildlife that reside in the park. It is beautiful throughout the entire year however autumn is by far the best since the maple trees show brilliant shades of red and yellow. There are also tall pines and a quaint stream that runs through the park. Such a great place to unwind and get away for a few hours!

Meh!Other than seeing a half dozen white tail deer youre better off staying on the Greenbelt Trail. The rest of the parks trails are mostly wide maintenance vehicle trails. Not very scenic.

Well maintained, accessible, lovely trails through woods, hills, with ponds, streams, barns, fields. Saw a large red tailed hawk perched in a tree. Staff was helpful. Several trails just mile or so loops, mostly flat, easy.

Wow, saw 14 deer mostly but not all does. Great park with a museum in a house that has partially been there since at least 1751! Go, its awesome!

Hiked most of the trails, not well marked, would have been lost without map and phone. Peacefull walk in the woods with limited scenic views compared to other parks on long island. Difficult to exit park onto highway.

Beautiful scenic NYS nature preserve in Smithtown which was once home to a local hrist mill. The colonial home on the property is now a visitor/nature center with some local history dating back to Revolutionary War days. They also have a website with an overview, directions, and contact information.

Very pleasant, quiet and well maintained and historic, what else can one ask for!

Place is good for long walks and trekking. Also we can do fishing. Other than that there is nothing much to explore.
