Its only $7.50 to get in seniors. Clean & friendly employees! We saw Call of the Wild awesome! Theatre was clean & bathroom. Chairs are comfortable & reclining. Thank you for making our visit a nice one.
Smithfield Cinemas is very professional; makes an effort to show movies on opening day like the Billy Graham movie with his grandson Will playing him in the movie, and even with Hurricane Florence coming on opening night, I was able to see it. It has a Christian atmosphere, very clean, also a kind staff, with delicious foods, drinks, popcorn, and North Carolinas own soft drink, Cheerwine. Quiet and peaceful, and nice management. I highly recommend it!
Nice place enjoyed the movie. Absolutely no direction as to where to enter lines for movie. First time there, clerks at registers great for selling. The four or more possible theater staff to busy to help until we started to theater... only down side. Felt like once we laid for drink and popcorn, customer service was nonexistent.
I dont normally like to pay the high price for first-run movies, so $ 34 dollars and change is a bit high for 2 tickets, medium popcorn and large drink for the out of date and slightly worn state of this theater. But the popcorn was good and the sound and picture very good. Not crazy about the self-serve drink machines. Had to go to all three to find a flavor I liked that wasnt mostly carbonated water. Overall not the worst experience by far but not the best.
Was a good theater when first opened, but now has become dated. The facilities are in need of repair. Examples would be the tears in the seats. Many screens are not wide or tall enough for modern movie specs.
I went on Tuesday, 1/14/20 and paid more for a Large Popcorn so that I could get a refill after the movie, but they closed the Concession Stand while I was in the movie. I spoke to the manager and he literally just walked away while I was talking to him. Not even an Im sorry or anything. Just pretty much ignored my concern and walked off. Other than that one incident, Ive always had an enjoyable experience at Smithfield Cinemas.
Theatre needs to add ushers or courtesy enforcement. Kids and teenagers going in and out all film, talking loudly, snapping pictures, and talking on the phone DURING the movie. Wish I could have our $20 back, wont be going back.I was told there that if I had notified a crew member they would have addressed it, however, I shouldnt have to act on behalf of the theatre to leave the movie I paid to see and find someone to enforce basic etiquette. The lead I talked to after the movie wasnt surprised to hear my complaint and said it was an issue theyve had for a while. If you know its an issue, fix it or mitigate it.
Clearly the management takes comments seriously; overall were pleased with our first visit. The theater is not new, but the staff is friendly and the popcorn is good. No reason for anyone to complain about the price$, unless you last went to the movies in the 1950s. Coming to the theater is expensive. If youre that worried about money, stay home!! As for us, we dont go to the movies that often but well be back to Smithfield Cinemas.
This was a pleasant movie theater. The place was pretty clean, the bathrooms were nice, clean and picked up.I have been in theaters with newer comfort seating but the seats here were not damaged and fairly comfortable. I will be going to the movies here again. Thank you!
First time Ive been to this one. Very friendly people and great seating, and concessions are great. My family and my self reallly enjoyed our trip there.
Clean but popcorn sucks. It always taste 3 days old. Prices are high like all movie places these day.
Weve been here many times over the years...it still holds up as a good theater...not fancy, but good none the less.
I havent sat in cloth seats for a long long time and thats what this cinema has. I felt that it could have been cleaner - popcorn on the floor,, spilled soda, and a strong spell of butter throughout. I really dont like that butter smell but thats me. I will continue to search for a theater to my taste. not awful but not great. the movie and sound were very good though.
I brought a group of students from my summer ESL camp here in July and everything was very pleasant. The management was very accommodating with the behind the scenes planning things that took place before our actual visit and when we got there, I was impressed that they had a smooth process for large groups that made things as pleasant and avoidant of stress as possible for me and their own employees! The kids enjoyed themselves so much. The theater was spacious and clean and there was plenty of seating, bathrooms and drink options to make out visit with that group even more pleasant. I can’t wait to work with them and plan next year’s trip.
I’m not sure about the other auditoriums, but auditorium number 10 is rotten! I can’t quite put my finger on exactly what the smell is, but as soon as we walked in the door, it hit us like a ton of bricks! Hopefully one day they do some renovations, or deep cleaning inside. Also the seats, while comfortable, concern me in what I may be sitting in.
Great movie! Popcorn was fresh. Restrooms were very clean
Great venue for a break from shopping. Stadium seating $7.50 til 6 pm.Enjoyed Star Wars IX.
Went on Thanksgiving to the first showing of the day, and wished there was a different movie theater to go to. Went into the actual theater, and it was dirty and disgusting, food trays on the floor, used bandaids stuck to the floor, popcorn everywhere. This was not the impression you would want to portray to your customers, very disappointed in the way the theater has gone down.
Met friends...easy to find! Clean restrooms too. Comfy seats in the theater.
We went one night and their debit card machine was down!! So we couldnt go after driving all that way. Like who carries money with them anymore. Very inconvenient.
The theater is old...Need some good antibacterial and some good clorox bleach to disinfect that facility...price is good.....
Hoping the COVID-19 shutdown turns this waste bin into a nice Regal cinemas.
We prefer Howell over this place but it works for new showings. Its a little old and dirty. Weve seen some weird folks hanging around it at night too but no shocker there with the location.
Quiet and very convenient I usually go here when I am in the area.
Great place to enjoy movies with the family, very affordable prices. Great customer service.
Tickets are reasonably priced. The food area is almost always disgusting and no one ever cleans it up. Spilled drinks and food all over the place. The only one real good thing i can say about this place is that they have a unlimited chances duck claw game. Put in 50 cents get unlimited tries. If its even working that is.
Very nice theater, clean and the staff friendly and the prices not too bad.
Have had a great time every time Ive went.
Saw Black and Blue- #5 screen room. As usual sound is extremely too loud. Movies are always great
Way too loud. Plenty of room though. Clean. Should have chosen a different flic.
Good place to see a movie for less than other theaters
Beware! Moldy seats...We were in Cinema 3, there were rows of seats with what appeared to be MOLD on them... Both the backs and seat portions. After being in the room for the length of the movie I am feeling as if I need a nebulizer treatment (asthma rescue inhaler)The area was warm too. Cinema 3 had to of easily been 80°f . The area certainly needs attention and a thorough deep cleaning to include the seats and a dehumidifier. That said, the concession stand staff and all that worked there seemed really nice. Cant fault the part time staff for what appears to be a situation that didnt happen overnight.
Its always too hot, no matter the temperature. But I love everything else except its too hot and too expensive
I enjoyed our movie tonight however, every single employee we came across was on their phones. All of the staff behind the ticket counter which was about 4 or 5 girls as well as the ticket guy. I shouldn’t have to wait for you to look up from your phone to receive service. Very unprofessional! The only people who weren’t face deep in their phones were the two guys cleaning up all the popcorn on the floor.
Great cinema. Clean, nice staff. We will be going g back.
6-8-2019 Normally I have a good experiences at this theater. Well today’s experience I doubt I’ll be going back anytime soon. When I sat down I sat right in a pile of nacho cheese!! When I went to go talk to the general manager he didn’t act like he cared. All he offered me were some paper towels and just said he was sorry but wouldn’t even look at me. I told him that he needed to do a better job of keeping up with his employees. He didn’t say a word and just walked away. That was very poor customer service!! When I returned to my seat my husband pointed out there were at least 5 other seats with cheese on them too. So I had to sit through the whole movie with nacho cheese on the back side of my shorts. Very uncomfortable!!! I think they need to retrain their staff on how to clean a theater in between movies. I’m very upset and won’t be going back there if I can help it, I’ll drive to a different theater in a different county if I have to. So I’ve learned never trust that a movie theater has been cleaned like it should be??
Decent theatre with nice staff. No lounge chairs in the showrooms though. As a result, theres plenty of seats available.
Very pleasant employees and quite comfortable.
I love going. No noise just the movie.
Friendly staff, good popcorn, good movie experience and inexpensive tickets. Older theater in slight disrepair but that’s okay for the price.
Great local place for movies. My dad and I wouldnt go anywhere else for the latest films.
Very cool old time movie theater.. with new seats... great price.
First off the candy is way too expensive, I paid $67 for myself and 3 daughters. We get into the theater and it has not been cleaned, popcorn on floor and drinks in cup holders and we’re the only people in here. If they kept it cleaned I’d be ok but it is filthy. The chairs smell even, needs a good deep cleaning and some pride in the people who work here.
Been a couple years, (Assassins Creed), but the experience was absolutely, completely, pleasant. From the professional and friendliness of playing and teasing at the ticket counter, to the cleanliness of the lobby and the room, to the comfort of the seat. (Maybe a little tightly packed close together, but that is to be expected.)I live a bit of a ride away in Louisburg, and dont make it to Jo-Co as oft as I would like, but I will gladly make Smithfield Cin a stop on my next trip. Thanks Ray and crew!
Great afternoon with the family. Lobby, theatre and restrooms were clean.
Fun teens working enjoyed there energy.. and joke sharing. But of course snacks expensive ..
Nice theater. Very clean bathroom.
Huge Cinema and always has the just out movies. Super clean, decorative, all the snacks you could want and a very friendly staff. Go here all the time.
Went to see MA at this movie theater. The guy at the concession stand fixed my slushy but wasn’t paying attention and overfilled it, so juice was spilling all over the cup. Instead of cleaning it off, he handed it to me. When I asked for napkins to clean it off, he just told me to go to the end of the concession stand to get them. At least he said sorry. Overall, it was a nice theater and good experience. I would recommend to family and friends.
Great theater lots of choices of movies clean and friendly staff
I appreciate the prices here. The cleanliness of the theater today was not the standard I have typically seen. An entire row was sticky from an apparent soda mishap. Not enough staff to accommodate the amount of customers. However, again, this isnt typical here. Therefore, I still gave 4 stars.
Great seating and prices are right.
A basic theater, no bells and whistles. But the employees are friendly, the seats are comfortable, the bathrooms are clean. My only complaint is that the hard floors inside the theaters are sticky. Could use a good mopping.
Its a nice theater with nice workers
The theater is always clean, the staff pleasant and popcorn is good. I have always enjoyed going to the movies there.
Would have been a 5 star review but they didnt shut the lights during the movie . 2 hr Lion king movie, lights on?
My honest review, my wife and I stopped at the concession to purchase tickets and get a drink and popcorn. After paying the girl at the register drops change in hand without any acknowledgement to run to her cell phone. Then 2 ticket takers took our tickets, one was one his phone and never looked up at us. We had to ask what direction our movie was playing in. Once movie started lights dimmed very little but was still bright. They stayed that way during the entire movie. After movie as we were leaving usher was face down on his cell phone. Also everytime the ac came on it rumbled loudly. At times you could hear the other movie playing next to us.
Conveniently located near the Pottery Outlets, carpets could use a scrubbing.
Noticed that it was a little dirty and didnt smell fresh. The prices of popcorn and drinks are too expensive
Not dark enough in the theater since they leave the lights on. Prices way too high for snacks. Chairs comfortable. Sound is great. Screens are nice. Employees are pretty nice too.
The Art of Racing in The Rain....BEST MOVIE EVER
I wouldn’t come here again.. but now I’m stuck with two tickets to a different movie because they wouldn’t give me a refund for tickets I had bought an hour prior..
Great theater for any one. Short line wait time. Food and Drinks where over priced but the 3D experience was great.
Nice neighborhood cinema. Clean and good location
Went see IT chapter 2 great movie
Whatched it was a good movie you should watch it
A very clean, nice looking movie theater. They have comfortable seats, but if you are cold natured, you might want to bring a jacket because they do keep it pretty cool in the theater. It is a great place to catch a movie.I like the Howell theater in downtown Smithfield better though. They have movies for only $3 a ticket, and even more comfortable seats. :-)
I love this theater so much! The staff is always so friendly and the area is always clean. The restaurants nearby make it easy to stop for food either before or after a showing.
Had fun that weekend. Went with my cousin and we saw a movie.
Great place to take the kids and spend good quality time
Wish snacks at movies werent so expensive. Thats one star deduction. The other deduction is, I prefer the snack clerk to fix my drink and popcorn. Having self-serve machines makes it hard to juggle two medium drinks and a large popcorn. AND, I cant put butter halfway on the popcorn like they could behind the counter. And theres always someone in my way. I just want to pay, get my snacks, and go.
Typical movie experience, however if you like butter on your popcorn its best to go elsewhere. They have self serve butter which means after eating so much you have to come back out to get more butter. Asked them to put butter on it and was told where the butter fountain was.
Always a great place to relax and watch a movie ... Wonderful seating
Saw Spiderman Far from home, good movie at a great theater.
Love this place everytime we go everyome is so friendly never have to wit in a long line clean bathrooms altogether a friendly atmosphere
Good place to see a movie
5$ movies on tuesdays.. what else is there to say.. love it!
Very clean, affordable and nice to spend and watch a movie.
Very sanitary movie theater and has a wide variety of movies at a time
Always a good time. Took my cousin and her friend to see Tyler Perrys latest. They loved it.
Excellent, nice place.
Easy ticket buy, fast popcorn stop.good movie
Movie was awesome! Theater needs huge improvement in it, smelled, and drink station flavoring not working properly.., but the smell bigger issue!!!
Discount Tuesdays best thing is discounted movie tickets the theater we were in didnt have as great a sound as another one. But its not all bad
Wonderful experience. Clean, friendly lots of movie choices.
Not quite sure what the smell is. It always seems to smell wet or something. Nice place maybe i juat have a sensitive nose
Good theater to take family to and good prices
Staff friendly and courteous.
A little dated on the facilities, the screens and sound are excellent. Overall a good, clean facility that provides a good experience. Matinee shows are typically not busy and you can get good seat selection even showing up 15 min before the movie starts.
Nice and friendly, very clean. Up coming and new movies cheaper than other theaters! We watching Fantastic Beasts 2 and really enjoyed it!!! Will revisit!
It’s an ok theater. The price of movies is decent compared to some places. It’s not the most upscale or cleanest theater I’ve ever visited, but it does the job.
Loved the Movie! The snacks were a little bit pricey, but flavorful. I bought the Nachos and needed a tray to assemble and eat chips. Seats have a Cup holder but no folding tray to hold snacks. Would be nice if seats reclined also. The volume could be down a few decibels; it was very loud and finally, if cold natured bring a wrap or a jacket it can be chilly.
Smells a little damp inside at the end of July, but the Tuesday price of right at $5.50.Still smelled better than white oak, though. One time it smelled like coffee and feet in White Oak. I guess damp and a tiny bit like cat in the hallway is acceptable.
We just saw It on its opening day with no line. A very clean movie theater with plenty of parking.
Worst movie theater Ive ever been in, seen a rated r movie with under age children run up and down in and out, couldnt even enjoy the movie. The police had to come in 3 times to calm them down. Why let under age children in a rated R movie? You need to clean the children out of rated R movies.
Clean! Nothing more important then a clean public place...they never have sticky floors or left over debris from the last audience.
Great seating. Large area with 10 theaters. Typical large theater food prices (high). Spacious restrooms. An area gameroom. Prices competitive. Shows current and box office hit movies of different genres.
Much better value for first run movies
