I absolutely LOVE this place. Each meal Ive eaten has consistently been well prepared. For me, consistency is important and good customer service is key. Loyal customer in the making. Im happy theyve moved to Front Street. I enjoyed the new spot too!

We stopped in to this restaurant for brunch to celebrate my father’s birthday. I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent food and friendly service. My surprise was because the location has turned over ownership numerous times.I ordered blackened salmon with scrambled eggs and a side of broccoli. The salmon was cooked perfectly and was delicious - the seasoning was great. The eggs were good as was the broccoli.Around the table, others ordered a myriad of items, all of which were enjoyed.The service was fast and friendly. We were the only party in the restaurant. The restaurant looks like it has a music theme for evenings.Overall, we had a great experience.

I went for lunch with a large party. The restaurant has a very awesome atmosphere. Its set up with different areas. Theres an awesome bar room & I love the barrel tables & exposed brick & such. There is a VIP room upstairs that you can reserve for an extra large party or event. It was not busy when we were there so I do not know how it operates during busy hours, but the staff was very pleasant. Our server was very sincere & helpful. The menu is very New Orleans with poboys & shrimp grits & charbroiled oysters. They have a sauce called Jazzy sauce which is great. It has shrimp & crawfish in a tasteful sauce & they put it on top of a lot of dishes. The Jazzy Cornbread, which a healthy piece of cornbread covered in Jazzy sauce is very good. The food came out almost all together, which a lot of people dont like. The server had dropped off the soups & salads & not but a couple of minutes later here come the entrees. However we were a large party & Im assuming to get all of our orders in, then deliver all the soups & salads took time. Overall, I definitely want to go back & try some different dishes.The parking was confusing so I think the outside of the building could benefit from some signs. Theres a tiny parking lot in front on the right, but it was full upon our arrival. We finally found more parking on the other side (left) of the bldg. This part of the world is known for its creative parking (as I like to call it), but signs make people more comfortable & helps them get inside faster. Also, another sign that the big ramp in front does not take you to front door could also be helpful.

This is a fantastic and new place with great food and excellent service. Jazzmines offers a elegant atmosphere perfect for live music special events and more.

New place in town - GREAT place to enjoy a GREAT meal!Jazz Mines (pronounced like Jasmines...) My wife and I went there today for lunch and absolutely loved the place! This is a new restaurant in the same location where the old Ice House was, on Front Street. The ambiance and decor is very nice, and there is plenty of room to sit down comfortably without being crowded by tables placed too tightly. One of the things I really enjoyed was being able to carry on a conversation without having to talk too loudly because of the overall noise level. What a pleasure! Prices are extremely reasonable, service was very good, and food was terrific.My wife, who is a small eater, had the cornbread with shrimp and Jazzi sauce and absolutely loved it! The sauce is a very flavorful creamy sauce - almost good enough to eat like a soup all by itself, but throw in the sauteed shrimp and a huge piece of cornbread and it becomes a nice little meal. I had a 12 grilled shrimp poboy, with their bourbon bbq sauce, fries and potato salad, and it was really, really nice - honestly more than I could finish. The General Manager stopped by to say hello and see how we liked everything, and he could not have been nicer. They have live jazz music most evenings and were looking forward to going back at night to be able to enjoy that!

This place is awesome! Let’s start with the waitress! She was great! We were a party of 10 and she never missed a beat! She didn’t write anything down but knew all of our orders from appetizers down to desserts! Then the food came! The food was delicious and everything was fresh! All of our food was cooked well and hot when it came to our table. The manager always checked on us and the cook/owner came out to greet us as well! The music added to the atmosphere! We really enjoyed ourselves and the prices were great for the quality! This is a Black Owned Business that I will support as long as they are in existence!

Reasonably priced, good food, good service. Seating feels like a diner in the middle of a cavern. Perimeter tables are more suited to the atmosphere. Limited menu. Great specials. Not very busy at lunch.

Been meaning to stop in and try this place. Being a relatively new restaurant, I will usually wait a bit before I patronize a place. The inside is tidy, but theres not much going on. It looks like they are trying to get off the ground. Nice jazz playing and pretty relaxed. The staff is awesome ! They are friendly and just plain nice folks. Now about the food. The menu is not very extensive or fancy, BUT, the food is REALLY GOOD ! Great taste, fresh and expertly prepared. Very pleased. I hope Jazzmines does well and I wish them the best of luck.

Went there for a wedding rehearsal dinner. We had a buffet due to the event and large group. All of the food was really good. The service and workers were sweet. The owner talked to us a bit and seemed like a lovely lady. The atmosphere in the place is awesome. Its very cozy and fits the jazz theme. There was a live band playing while we were there. Music can be loud but thats what you get for a love band. Overall this place is definitely worth your time if you want some cajun food.

Good place to eat! Food is very tasty. I would recommend for dessert the breadpudding. Its absolutely sinful! Good location spacious and comfortable seating.

This place was awesome! The food was amazing the collard greens were out of this world! The staff and service waited on us like we were the only people in there! If we are ever back in Slidell we will definitely go there again

So, I woke up this morning with only one thing on my mind... To eat another chicken sandwich from Popeyes. Lucky for me, they were sold out and with tears in my eyes, I had to go looking for an alternative. Thats when I stumbled upon Jazzmines. Theyre located in Slidells old ice house on Front Street. The building has been around forever and there have been several restaurants on the property over the years but none of them were even close to as good as Jazzmines. From the moment we walked in the door, we were treated like family. The service was excellent and the food was outstanding. Several employees came to check on us throughout our meal, making sure we had everything we needed. Their menu looked fantastic, from the all day breakfast options to the daily specials. We will definitely go back.

I absolutely love love love this place. My husband & I are new to Slidell from the city. & Decided to try out this place from word of mouth & we absolutely was taken back. The atmosphere was amazing, the music was just right & the food was delicious & price was reasonable. My husband & I ate for under $30. The new owners came & introduce themselves & informed us on upcoming events. Super exciting to see whats to come. Wish you all the best.

I really enjoyed the shrimp and grits. The side salad could have been better. It was only a plate of lettuce. My fiance didnt like the gumbo very much. He said it tasted like the gravy from red beans. The people were very nice and attentive. The place had a good atmosphere

It was My first time there. The bartenders was Sweet as Gold! The food was Hot and Fresh! The place Is Nice and clean! I like it!

I went on a Saturday night. Not to busy. There was a band playing all of my favorite oldies. I couldnt see the bottom level completely but people were dancing and having a great time. I tried the hot sausage sandwich and was somewhat disappointed. I will go back again!

Everything were ate was amazing. Their wings are top notch, one of the best I ever had. Then I had their chicken and waffles (10/10). Im definitely going back the next time Im in town.

My wife and i decided to try this restaurant out today for brunch, and wow I am glad we did. The service was excellent- friendly- and the food was great. I had the steak n eggs and it was wonderful while my wife had the seafood omelet and wow i might would have trade my steak in for it LOL. Yes the omelet was that GOOD... I will go back and try the crab cakes with seafood pasta ASAP.. Great job, keep up the tasty food and wonderful service...

Loved the place itself. Oysters needed to be little more juicy; they were dry and the potatoes were hard. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

The food was very good and so was the service. Amber was very attentive. we had the French toast waffles as appetizer and I had the Captain Als fish and shrimp with their Jazzi pasta. Great ambience and live jazz later in the evening.

First, there are no condiments on the tables. Not even salt and pepper. My son ordered a burger and fries and I had the garlic parmesan wings. The wings were amazing. However, for the fries, they only bring out 2 oz plastic ramekins of ketchup. For the amount of fries given, it isnt enough. It would be much easier to have a bottle of ketchup on the table.For the service, I was a server before and there is a two minute, two bite rule. Server did not check on how the food was until I was nearly finished with my wings. Overall, the food was great and the atmosphere was good.

The 2 stars is only for the food, it is way too expensive and not worth it. The staff is super friendly and the service is good. Great music on Friday night.

I had the crab cakes and pasta and to my surprise they had used imitation crab meat and some blue crab meat, you know the red stripe imitation crab meat like subway uses in its seafood and crab sandwich. The price was fair but for that price it should be all blue crab meat and no imitation crab and now that I think about it I have never been served imitation crab in a crab cake maybe lots of fillers ( bread crumbs ). All the workers are awesome and the food tasted fine but like I said surprised to see the fake crab meat. I would have giving 5 stars but you can’t use imitation crab meat in crab cakes maybe in Idaho but not in Louisiana.

Great daily special Stuffed bell pepper with shrimp. Nice sized sides too. The fish filet was meaty and cooked to perfection.Love this Old ice house with its unique layout.

Nice Jazzy Vibe. Friendly staff. And most of all, outstanding food. We had BBQ Shrimp app, Crabbi Plate, and Captain Als grilled shrimp & fish. Everything was Excellent and the portions were more than generous.

The place is great! Atmosphere, customer service and staff all EXCELLENT...and the food omgoodness...especially the shrimp and grits! Please order the cornbread...the toppings will exceed your expectations. Marcus and Alex treated the Traveling Divas from St. Louis like old friends..I will visit again on my next trip to NOLA

Great place to relax while you in Slidell LA. Went on Jazz night with my family. Just need a little more help on Jazz night. But other than that it was great. Black own I will support my people anyday. Much success to you guys.

Ok. So I had a sandwich made out of a waffle with bacon, a fried egg, and some kind of sauce. Also, the waffles were fried.This is the best thing I have eaten in ages. Stop reading my review, Go to Jazzmines And eat this sandwich.P.S. they have a bunch of other good entrees too, judging from the line of people at the counter.

Food was Absolutely delicious, & service was pleasant.

The food was reasonably priced. They used all fresh ingredients in their seafood dishes. The staff was very friendly and attentive.

The food is well seasoned and its a come back to kind of place. Amber the service staff was exceptionally well adapted to the flavor of Jazzmines of Slidell.

I was excited to listen to some live jazz while having a good meal to celebrate my wedding anniversary. The atmosphere is great, and the hostess was very sweet. She ensured us that the band was not very loud, and we should still be able to have a conversation over them. She also raved about how delicious the food is.Unfortunately all of that was false. The food tastes like it was all from a can, or frozen. We got a piece of jazzy cornbread for an appetizer, but we could tell it was just Jiffy. Why pay $6 for cornbread which cost $0.89 in the store? My husband got the crab cake pasta, and it had no flavor and the crab cakes tasted worse than what you could get from the frozen section at Walmart. I got the wings and fries to play it safe, but I could tell the fries werent very fresh, and the wings were pretty drenched in sauce. The waitress wasnt bad, but it took her 15 minutes to get the appetizer, and then another 20 to FIX it cuz she didnt tell us it was loaded with onions.At least the manager took my husbands plate off the bill...Also, we were told the band would start at 7:30, but they didnt get going until after 8. Maybe that was a good thing, because, despite what the hostess said, they were so loud we had to yell to hear one another right next to each other.Not the experience I was looking forward to.But I if you like canned food, slow service, and loud music? Then this is definitely your place!

It was kind of spur of the moment, my daughters open house let out early so we decided to go check out the old ice house on Front St. We used to go there with our parents when it was a Chinese restaurant. I wasnt really expecting much because, honestly, I thought it looked closed at first, and its been quite a few different restaurants since I was a child but I was about to be pleasantly surprised. The staff was very friendly and hospitable. Usually, when Im trying a place for the first time Ill go with the special or the servers favorite dish and I was sure glad I did in this case. We ordered the catfish and the stuffed chicken (I forget the names but the chicken was stuffed with seafood and the catfish was smothered in their version of an etouffee) with a bowl of gumbo and the bbq shrimp to start. It was delicious! The gumbo was made with beef sausage, which gave it a heartier flavor that we both enjoyed. The chicken was tender, I asked for a knife, which I ended up not needing. Everything had great flavor and the portions were huge. Even the drink I ordered was made really well, not weak and not just a glass of liquor with a splash of mixer either, but just right. I cant recommend Jazzmines enough if youre in Slidell and looking for some good food. I have no complaints and will definitely be going back.

Food was good but a mix of good quality and low quality. The cheese fries had Patton’s hot sausage but then covered with baseball park nacho cheese! The cheeseburger was thin like those from fast food and missing the cheese. The waitress then started to charge for an item the menu listed to accompany the food. The beer selection was slim.Food was served very hot but it took a loooong time to get to the table. Mixed drink was excellent! Atmosphere and great prices will have me giving the place another go.

I enjoyed it. It will be a good place to go n listen to some good jazz music n the food was greatthe staff was friendly the timing of getting the food out needs a little work but over all Ill go back n recommend it as a good place to eat.

Food was great ...but service was really slow had one cook and one waitress doing 3 maybe four things by herself..take orders clean tables, bring the food out and take payments...one couple walked outand they had a few customer waiting to much for one person on a Sunday...

Interesting place still the same 3 tight round booths and lower level seating, bar in front (awaiting liquor license). Order 2 starters Jazzi Cornbread and Hot Sausage. These were consumed onsite and were thoroughly enjoyed. For diner we decided to do carry out but I am sure we will enjoy what we choose Jazzi Pasta x2 and BBQ Shrimp.....

Wandered into this place after going online and looking for some place to find some pretty good food in Slidell. After finding this place I entered with great anticipated and the hope that the food would be good. Being a chef myself sometimes I can be fairly hard-to-please but if the quality of food is good I will definitely not find it hard to give a recommendation but in this case I cant. First I started with ordering the jazzing wings a five-piece, the wings were refried Frozen wings that were too hard to bite into after being fried a second time. When ordering wings I myself prefer fresh wings without any sauce on them and without any breading but these were store-bought already fried wings and refried again. Second I ordered two pork chops collard greens a large loaded baked potato and a side salad. The two pork chops were extremely fan and not cooked to a proper temp to be served even though they were extremely thin. The collard greens with frozen collard greens that maybe they had taken a slice of raw bacon put into a bowl in a set them in the microwave probably for about 3 or 4 minutes just long enough to get them hot absolutely no flavor none whatsoever and the portion size was less than an ounce. The side salad, was the same salad that you get when you stop at a gas station at one of the po-boy shops and they give you a container with about 2 oz of shredded lettuce some chopped up overly ripen tomatoes and a little bit of Taco shredded cheese. The baked potato with life-size and actually had cooked bacon on top it has been cooked prior maybe several hours but it was the best thing I would definitely say that this place is not ready for a heart open to the public yet not until they can get portions right not until they can get quality good taste in food if they ever want to stay open atmosphere is definitely not enough to keep his place open food quality has definitely got to improve existential amount the food was less than marginal
