Keen layout. However, like so much of Skokie, the ugly, ghetto-esque surroundings smother the culture (see Museum park or decrepit store fronts in downtown) Love the blue apartment complex across the street. Who was involved in city zoning obviously was either on the take, or hated their life.

The 2nd floor childrens activities area is a wonderful complement to the overall historic firehouse retrospective. Well done!

Local history museum detailing history of Skokie fire department. Many artifacts in pristine condition to see. Original firehouse with firemans pole, horse-drawn fire trucks,Interesting. Also behind this is a log cabinWe saw this building from the street and were intrigued so we investigated . Nice side trip on way back from farmers market

Great programs for kids! Horrible scary stairs to get to the upper floor, though. Wish they would do check in on the lower level for those who have difficulty walking.
