Washington Pavilion

My 4 and 7 year old had an absolute blast at the Washington Pavilions Kirby Science Center today! There are new exhibits and they were entertained for hours!! There were Covid safety measures in place so we felt very comfortable. Highly recommend for getting your kiddos out during the SD winter!

My kids love the pavillion! The dinosaur upgrade has made it even more fun! Id recommend it to anyone with kids

I was highly impressed! We only had three hours! That isnt enough... I highly recommend people of all ages! We will have to come back as we only got to tour the Kirby Science Museum. Come spend the entire day here! You will thoughly be entertained!!!

We had a blast on our day trip here the other day. Its so easy to spend hours in there. The tornado you can touch is really cool!

Always have a great time there, whether were seeing a live show, visiting the Kirby Science Center or enjoying the new exhibits in the Art Museum, its always a treat!

I love the Washington Pavilion. When I go, it is generally for shows - this time it was Waitress: A New Musical. I loved the show - so much funnier than I expected it to be. The performance was wonderful as usual. We sat in the upper part of the mezzanine. The view from there was unobstructed, and we could see the whole stage well - but it was a little far away to see facial expressions. They have drinks and snacks available for purchase both before the show and at intermission, and often have show-themed treats and drinks to add to the fun.

Amazingly incredible! Best for the entire family well worth it! Dont forget the dome for a movie!

Nice facility with multiple displays and rooms for events. The building is well-maintained very clean.The Leonardo diner has many menu items to choose from and is very good.

Great place to take kids and family for hours! They have changed the floors so there are new and exciting things to learn and play on. Never a disappointment!!

A location that is a family favorite. Great opportunity for learning for all ages. they have solid snack options and a restaurant on site for if youre hungry. my family used to go every once in awhile but now were members and go all the time. This is truly a great family place in Sioux Falls.

There is so much to do in here. I went in just to check it out, and ended up staying for hours. It is awesome! And.... you can also lift a car while youre there!

Saw the one and only Beach Boys here in 2018. They were glorious live. Also have seen some excellent Classical performances here. The venue is nothing short of absolute top class. Every time I visited this place it always had a wonderful atmosphere. I really love this place. Ive moved pretty far away from SD and I admit Ill have fond memories and will miss this place. Charming, classy and old traditional place. If there is something you like playing here or something that interests you, I recommend you go.

Great place to meet and have fun!

Our family absolutely loves this place. Theyve always bringing in new learning exhibits keeping even the regulars happy. Recently the Grossology exhibits have been a joy. Parents beware of the smelly one!!! There is much to explore here. The value of the membership far exceeds the cost. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants their childs imagination to run free.

At first I thought the price was a little hight, but all the change once I went inside, amazing art collection and the science center was so cool, kids love it definitely worth it

Had a Blast! Perfect place to take kids with lots of different options! Not only for kids, was pretty interesting to experience.

There are always great shows of one sort or another here. Come early and visit the visual arts studio upstairs to see some amazing artwork. The science museum is great for kids - lots of hands-on activities.

Well sourced art in display, except they let in a ridiculously large size of what seemed to be prom-goers for pictures. While the students werent AS bad the parents, said parents handled themselves terribly. Parents were louder than the teens but neither age group seemed to understand that the art wasnt to be fondled.

What a fun science museum.

The symphony performance was amazing. However, we paid 106.xx for two tickets and this was our view. It was very disappointing to be sold tickets with such an obstructed view at that price. Also, this was from the better of the two seats. The other could not see the word the at all.

Love the pavilion! The people working are amazing and my kids always have such a great time!

We saw the movie Volcanoes and my grandson loved it! Also had fun visiting the Science Center. That can keep them busy for hours!

I really like going to the pavilion. It has a lot to offer. And I went to high school there before they changed it.

I love coming to shows here. The quality of the shows has been amazing. Plus, my kids love coming to the science center.

Went to see Reo Speedwagon excellent concert. The pavillion is a perfect place to take in a concert. Great acoustics not a bad seat in the house.

I just found out that every 1st friday of the month it is free entrance. I went for the first time with my little 2 year old and we loved it!! From the friendly staff, to the attractions in there, attractions are in both english and Spanish!! HOW AWESOME!? Its a must go. I love how they provided 1 day of the month free! Its 3 floors, and you enjoy all 3 of them :)

Meghan and I went to a really fun performance of the musical, White Christmas, tonight. It had great sets and terrific dancing. Very happy that I bought tickets for this show.

It was a great venue for the Newsboys/ Mandisa and Adam Agee concert. Besides that it was one of the best concerts that I have ever been to, the intimate feeling of being in the Pavilion made it even better. All the seats there are very good, but we were on the main floor last night which was fantastic.

So many fun things for children to do! 3 floors of great children’s activities. Grand kids love it there. Save a lot or money by purchasing a season pass.

Great experience and reasonably priced. Great time for kids and their elders alike. Ill deffinately go back!

We love the 1st Friday of every month because the Kirby Science Center is free. All staff are very friendly and ready for lots of kid questions. This is one place you must visit!

This is a great place to bring your family for a fun day out.The activities are geared to a wide variety of ages, with plenty to keep children from toddlers to teens busy.Children under 2 are free, and Active Duty Military/Veterans are given discounted admission, but everyone is free on the first Friday of the month.My only major criticism is their hours, since they only stay open until 5pm most days.

It was a great location to see my first ballet. There were helpful, friendly people right at the door to help us find our seats. We were up in the balcony and could see everything. It was fantastic!

Absolutely amazing! So much fun stuff to do with the kids would definitely recommend.

The science center is great for the kids on the free day, honestly dont get why the adults have to pay so much. It doesnt seem right to charge people for watching their kids. As adults, we dont often participate in the stuff there.it should be a $3 parent fee for each parents. you guys take advantage of us, the science center is not for the parents its for the the children.

Was great especially for little kids,my kids 12 and 8 and had a pretty good time the cinedome by it self was worth it

A great collection of modern art for a relatively small midwest town. I was really surprised at the exhibitions!

The Grossology exhibit at the Kirby Science Discovery Center is fantastic.

Looking for a good time? They have bowling and a full bar what ever you desire.

They have a great menu.

I saw The Color Purple tonight at the theatre here. I have always been amazed at the shows they have and this was no exception! Also the volunteers at the theatre are very friendly and helpful.

Have really enjoyed attending performances and receptions here. The cafe is great. My kids have enjoyed their day camps and a family membership. Wonderful asset to our community!

I find going to pavilion for any event a warm and inviting EXPERIENCE. The staff has always been kind and knowledgeable. If you havent been to the pavilion please take the time to treat yourself. Im sure you will have an enjoyable time!

Fun place to bring kids! I took my two boys (age 6 and 9) and spent 3.5 hours there on our first trip and probably couldve spent more time, but we were exhausted!

The venue is beautiful and well organized. All the folks working there were friendly and very helpful. The reason for only for stars, it was a packed house and it didnt seem to have any AC. I had sweat running off of me for three hours.

The venue is just the right size for an intimate feeling concert. Having concessions available at intermission was great.

The show was awesome and facility was clean as well as a courteous and professional staff.

With all the updated exhibits it is very nice to visit and chase the kids around

Great facility for adults and children alike. The offer a variety of classes, plays, and science exhibits.

The performances Ive attended have always been top of the line. Ive never had a bad seat or a bad view. If they had an option to buy into two season passes for a small price break that would be fantastic. Single season passes are good, but most people prefer company when they attend the theater.

Took the kids there for 5+ hours and they still wanted to stay longer when we left. Great for a day adventure with the family.

The sidewalk art Festival surrounded the Washington Pavilion my wife had her booth in their parking lot. I skipped the porta potties and used their restroom. Were going to musical their in a few days.

So much to see and do. We had 3 generations when we visited and we all had fun! Great exhibits. Could easily spend an entire day here.

Big city shows at a small town price! There is not a bad seat in the entire place!

I love going to the Washington Pavillion with my kids. Everything is so entertaining for the kids. The kids learn at the science stations and the cinedome is educational and entertaining. (they no longer play regular movies which makes me sad) The reason I took a star is because some of the the science stations are in disrepair. A monitor is out here and the kids destroyed a seat there... that is another negative but it is NOT the WP fault. PARENTS: This is not a babysitting place. YOU need to watch your kids!! Would you let your kids climb your walls at home? Or climb all over the furniture? No, then it isnt something your kids should do at the Washington Pavilion. There were even kids that shoved their way to the front of the line and parents didnt do anything. Or said, No, Johnny dont do that. They dont even look up or make eye contact with their kid.

We come a few times every year, including Ag Day, which is our favorite! We love the exhibits! My kids have enjoyed the health and fitness exhibit ever since they opened. The dinosaur exhibit looks neat (at least what you can see of it from the second floor). We cant wait for it to open! My favorite has been the space exploration exhibit. We were disappointed not to find the crafts by the art exhibit on the second floor, where they used to be. Maybe theyve moved. We will have to go back another time to look for them. Overall, this is still one if our favorite places to go as a family.

Fantastic attraction in Sioux Falls! There isnt a week that goes by that my daughter doesnt request to go to the Pavilion, and we enjoy it as well! The events are always entertaining for kids and adults alike, and we enjoy having access to the restaurant in information stands as well.

Went to see 1984. Theatre was beautiful! Staff was incredibly friendly!

Well worth the ticket price!Space, optics, weather, natural science, art, physics and so much more! My 15-year old and 8-year old both had SO much fun here. The Discovery Center had something for everyone.The art gallery was fascinating, with a great variety of pieces both historical and modern. The kids gallery was under construction wheb we visited but there was a kid friendly section with hands on projects.We watched a space movie in the Dome. Seating was comfortable and the film was educational and entertaining.

No better venue to enjoy a performance in South Dakota.

I love this place. Its become a special treat for my son to visit and learn all kinds of new and interesting things about life, outer space, humanity. I truly wish the hours were a bit better, especially during the winter months when there isnt much to do outside. They also have a lovely little cafe down on the first floor.

Everyone who lives in or visits Sioux Falls should spend time at the Pavilion. Art and Science and education. Wonderful!

There isnt a bad seat anywhere! And there is alot of nice leg room between rows. We really enjoyed the beauty of the space!!

Great place to have in our town for the kids. We take advantage of first fridays free for the kids about once every 6 months or so. They seem to change up some of the stuff about once a year. If u go before 7 they usually have someone doing science demonstrations. Make sure to check out the arts galleries too as they change up whats over there a bit too. Some of it is very good and they have some stuff for the kids too like dress up and puppet shows and blocks and I instruments.

This is a great place to visit alone or with the family. The blend of art and science is wonderful. We spend hours here with my young daughter, as theres lots to explore and learn about. We also enjoy the changing educational events every week. Awesome place!

This place is really fun and you can do a lot of stuff here. It’s an oasis-like place for kids except even better. It also has summer camps. If you haven’t been to the pavilion before, you should go. It is really fun.

Fun for all ages. Play area for smaller kids. Space center for bigger kids. Cinedome movies to make the right person motion sick. A nice gallery where you can also take kids to a drawing room. All kinds of performances for adults as well.

Really great attraction in Sioux Falls. With art gallerys and hands on Science exhibits, the Washington Pavilion is fun for the whole family. I highly recommend seeing a movie at the Wells Fargo Comedone. The movie theatre is best in town!
