Gotta be some of the best views in LA. Its a short 10 min hike to your first view spot and its worth every second. Your pretty much looking down and across simi valley wich is absolutely breathtaking. I recommend this place 10 out of ten!

Beautiful hiking trail. The hike up to the peak is 2.5 miles. That might not seem like a lot, but considering the steepness of the path, it is a lot. If you dont know how long that is, I would recommend installing the Under Armour App for walking to track your walk progress. Round trip is 5 miles, and it might take you 3 hours or less depending on your fitness.I went with my 50 year old dad and he kept stopping, hence the three hours. I probably could have done it in 2 hours or 2.5.There is phone connection for maybe like the first half of the hike. Then it comes back at the peak. If you like listening to music, maybe download some songs before you go.Other tips?1)Wear sunscreen. Maybe throw on a hat.2)Watch out for bicyclist. Always move for them. Its not a rule, but just be considerate.3) If youre on the older side, maybe consider buying a hiking stick. Sometimes the steepness can be difficult to climb or even go down. Even I lose my balance sometimes. Or sometimes, as youre going down, your feet my skid down the gravel and you could lose balance. Consider the stick.4) Wear shoes with a good grip. I rolled my eyes at this at first, but I realized quickly to not underestimate it.5) After it rains, some parts of the trail are muddy. Wear shoes that you can afford to get dirty.6) Dress appropriately.

Excellent place to go hiking, has great elevations to get a really good workout, and has very good views. Feels amazing and productive everytime after I hike there. It has trails of all levels, from not too hard ones to a decent ones. Never gets too crowded like it usually does in other Los Angeles hiking destinations.

Amazing hike to the top! Just difficult enough to get a good workout. The terrain is very uneven in some areas so probably not great for hiking with small children or even little dogs. You can see for miles at various points on the way to the top. It usually takes me about 1.5-2 hour round trip (about 5 miles). Park right off the freeway on either side and the trail is right there!

Rocky and little sandy trail. Intermediate hiking and biking with lot of Scenic views. It gets little steep at some places which adds to the fun. Trail is 4.75 miles out and back. Generally takes 2- 3 hrs to complete. Bring ample of water and sunscreen during summer. Parking at the trail head is limited so park across the freeway entrance. Watch for tiny scorpions (generally camouflaged in rock crevices) and snakes.

Great quick hike to the middle trailhead. It is pretty steep for little kids but the terrain is easy without too much gravel. Lots of bikers but everyone we met on the trail was very polite. The trail offers great views of the Santa Susannah pass as well as to the North. The interior of the San Fernando valley can be seen on a clear day.

Gorgeous place for hiking, bit of scrambling, or just having a nice relaxing walk. Plenty of places to sit and enjoy the view, maybe meditate a bit if thats what you like. Just be aware its very popular and lots of the people walking there bring their dogs. (not always on leash, despite signs saying theyre meant to be kept leashed at all times)

Pleasant (if steep) hiking trails leading to some amazing views, and its a surprisingly painless drive up the freeways on weekends. Make sure to check the weather; it can swing from hot and bone dry to humid and windy very quick.Went for an easy day hike with some friends, its not very difficult to find the trail head but theres only a handful of parking spots there. Overflow parking is across the freeway which makes backing in or out a whole new kind of adventure. Gravel and dust will get kicked up on your car just FYIIts the high desert so the plant life withers over the summer and then pops up whenever theres some rain. The trail was flattened and smoothed fairly recently so the only difficult part is the elevation changes. Theres a few forks that lead off to their own overlooks, but itd be hard to get lost unless you walked off the trail.Late September everything was blooming and there was a light fog as clouds blew over the hills to rain on the Valley. Brought a jacket and was happy to have it once we reached the top and stopped moving around so much.

Hiked Rocky peak trail but didnt make it too far since the sun was going down, so we made it as far as the hummingbird trail crossing. It is fairly steep that entire way, so if you are looking for an easy stroll, this isnt for you, but there are beautiful views even if you dont make it the 5 miles round-trip! I was also nervous because I read reviews involving theft and car break-ins since people leave their cars and belongings behind... But we were sure not to leave anything in our vehicle.

Its like going mountain climbing except for its right in the middle of the valley. Be careful for broken glass and somewhat dangerous climbing experiences but if you make it to the top you get great views of the valley and the mountains that encircle it. Parking is a little sketchy as it is right on the side of the highway and I felt a little uneasy getting out of the car with traffic flying past at 70 miles an hour but it was not hard to find a spot. There doesnt seem to be one Trail to make it to the top so if you come upon a dead-end just keep trying there are plenty of ways to get to Rocky Peak Parks Apex. One of the nice things is to see all of the horses that are right near the bottom of the peak if youre into that kind of thing. Also a great place to see many of the really nice residences that exist all around the park area.

I love how many trails all link up via the Rocky Peak Park. Meeting new canine friends on the trail is a treat. The views are wonderful, you can see the smoggy landscape of LA on one side, and a clear view of the hills of Simi Valley on the other. One thing that I saw that bothered me was there was a few energy goo packets along the trail, PLEASE BRING A TRASH BAG FOR YOUR TRASH and try to bring back 1 piece of trash back, even if its not yours. Its greatly appreciated! :DYour friendly Adventure 16 member,Joe Flores

Great place to mountain bike, steep climbing hills and some very technical drops and fun downhill runs. Always good for hiking except if it is raining or just had heavy rains for it becomes extremely slippery on the trail.Everyone on the trail is friendly, beautiful views of Simi and San Fernando Valley. Located at the east end of Simi Valley.Have fun and watch for snakes in the summer time.

Great place to hike with your dog and your other loved ones! Spectacular atmosphere and lovely views. Very historic. Horse stables adjacent. If you go with other people, best thing to do is to carpool since its a popular area and parking is a little tricky sometimes. People speed on Topanga Cyn so be careful exiting your car. Or you could just take the train to nearby Chatsworth Station and Uber/Lyft/taxi from there.Make sure to read up on other safety precautions before you go! If bringing your dog, watch other for snakes, bees, coyotes, hawks, etc.You should be fine though, and irs lots of fun!
