Acorn Urban Park is a tiny park in downtown Silver Spring with a big history. On this site is where Preston Blair, a newspaper editor, discovered a mica-flecked spring that inspired the name Silver Spring. The land was part of Blairs plantation. On it, he built an acorn gazebo in the middle of the 19t century in honor of where he proposed to his wife. The gazebo still stands in the park today. There are murals along the park that depict the history of Silver Spring. There are a few benches to sit and enjoy the small park.

It’s a cute little park that’s made for sitting not really playing at. The coolest thing is that it’s home to the original silver spring (no longer functional). Has some neat historical facts and a good place to sit under the unique acorn gazebo.

Silver Spring was developed by Blair and this park commemorates his founding of the city. It also has a cute acorn shaped restored gazebo from his estate.

Just a fraction of green space, little used any time I go by there - unfortunately like most Maryland locations theyre more concerned with getting parking money from you than maintaining streets, sidewalks and public spaces.

Far from a big park but close to Bump N Grind. A nice spot to read, eat, converse or rest.

Tiny little park with an acorn gazebo and a plaque marking the original mica-flecked spring for which Silver Spring is named. Theres also a mural on the adjacent building showing Silver Spring over time. A nice place to have lunch.

Great park overall, good equipment, some of it has good shade, but some is very sunny thus minus one star. Has a water thing not sure if its for people or not.
