Well kept auditorium at an impressive school. Seating has flip-up tables and there are two optional areas for seating behind moving walls. Stage lights arent as hot as most, it seems. I was up there with a decently heavy instrument, and I was just fine. Id even say its (small) concert-worthy. Glad to see my hometowns school district is in half-decent shape.
Great venue! Probably the nicest high school performing arts center Ive ever been in. Cushioned seats, excellent acoustics. Large enough to accommodate several hundred, yet small enough that every seat provides a superb view.
Nice shows but pricing could be better.
This is a lovely venue, my only complaint is that the restroom is too small for the seating capacity of the theatre. Maybe theres more than one and Ive just never found the other. We attend the Mason County Concert Association at this venue. The high school students perform the lighting and sound work in addition to greeting and escorting attendees to their seats if desired. It is a great pleasure to see these young people learn and perform these skills. Kudos to Shelton High School students and their advisors for a great Performing Arts Center.
They dont have many productions that happen there, but its a nice place. The Missoula Childrens Theatre performs there every spring and the productions are lovely.
Due to construction, it was very difficult to get from parking to the center for disabled people. I had to walk down a steel incline. I would say hill but it wasnt very high but was very steep. If I had been on my electric wheelchair, I dont know how I would have made it.They need to open the doors that are marked handicap. I had to walk to the front doors and then walk down stairs to the seating. If the doors that are marked handicap were open I would not have had any stairs. It is difficult enough having mobility issues. But to have to walk all the way around too the front door, then be told you can walk all the way back to the handicap doors and someone will open the handicap doors isnt a very good option when walking distances is the issue. Both times I was there I really enjoyed the inside of the center. It is large and clean. I would have loved a theater like this in my high school. So my big issue is with the lack of forethought given to blocking off the center from the parking when so many end-of-the year programs were scheduled.
Because its designed properly.
