Sandy greeted us. She made sure you have all you need through your stay.. Sandy is an awesome cook. We loved our stay. You feel pampered, the rooms are very clean, and so comfortable. We loved the privacy, and the warmth you feel upon entry, till checkout. We will visit again.

BEST STAY EVER!! It was our wedding weekend and we rented the entire place and couldn’t have made a better choice! We were able to host beautiful cocktail hours here and will remember our stay for the rest of our lives! Melanie came by during our rehearsal lunch and did an amazing job entertaining our guests and telling us about the place - guests were so enthralled! Trenell is AMAZING - we were a big crowd with lots of stuff and she is so graceful and kind - the best Innkeeper in the world! The beds are incredible! My husband is super picky about beds and our first morning here the beds were a hot topic! We will be back every time we come to town! Shelby is a wonderful place and Morgan and Wells makes it magical.

The owners are hardworking, articulate, caring people who make you feel at home. If you take the time to talk with them they will share interesting experiences and a bit of family history. I like the fact that the parking spaces were wide and easy to access. As others have noted the breakfast is fresh and tasty. We spent two nights, which was just right to explore the area.

Morgan and Wells is a beautiful B&B! My husband and I had the pleasure of staying there over the weekend. Everyone on the staff is friendly, personable and helpful! The breakfast was fantastic, you can tell the chef takes pride in what he does! Uptown Shelby was so cute and there was tons of stuff to do within walking distance. We can’t wait to come back! We stayed here from September 4th to September 7th for our elopement & it was fantastic. Trenell was such a wonderful host and made sure everything went smoothly for us. They also took great care to ensure everyone’s health and safety.The food was amazing - the breakfasts were 100x better than any hotel breakfast could offer....bananas foster pancakes and we also had several of their appetizers that we ordered for our reception that exceeded our expectations.We also really appreciated Melanie coming by on wedding day to check on us and see that we were having a nice stay. We would absolutely stay here again.

Great service! Beautiful room! The host is amazing and went out of her way to make our stay incredible. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Every bit of the experience was carefully curated. It is clearly a labor of love set apart from others. Highly recommended!As for the surrounding area, there are some decent restaurants. We ate wood fire pizza at a local establishment, which I would also recommend.

The house interior is beautiful and Toms are large. The claw foot rub was challenging to use as a shower, so I recommend taking a bath. The inn keeper was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast she cooked was amazing! The food just kept coming. Highly recommended!

This is the absolute best bed and breakfast that weve ever visited. Morgan and Wells is a hidden gem! The staff did everything possible to make that we were comfortable. They were very accommodating. Their hospitality is unmatched! The breakfast was delicious and the entrees just kept coming. I cant remember when Ive eaten so much! The desserts and drinks (non alcoholic) were a nice touch as well. The owners ( Melanie and Derek) took great care to maintain the beauty and charm of their home. The rooms are a nice size and all have their own personalities. Trenell was an excellent hostess. She is wonderful and her bubbly personality is contagious. The little things make a huge difference. Innkeeper Trenell was Fantastic. One of the Best Breakfasts I have ever had in a B and B was prepared by Personal Chef, Fred Reeves.

My (now) husband and I stayed here after on our wedding night. It was perfect; Melanie went above and beyond to make our stay special. She worked around our wedding-day schedule, and let us check in after our wedding, which let us really enjoy the day without worrying about our accommodations for the night. The home has been diligently and lovingly restored and renovated to highlight the truly beautiful character of this house, but also while adding the conveniences of a modern hotel. In the morning, I slept in while my husband went down for breakfast. I did not have to miss out, though, because my husband was able to bring me breakfast in bed! It was the sweetest surprise. Melanie brought up hot coffee for me shortly after, too. Morgan and Wells is hands-down one of the best places I have ever stayed at, and I cannot wait to return.

Booked us at a B&B that had no rooms available. Had to scramble to find a place to stay in a small town where the local college was having graduation. Not a good way to start our vacation.

Morgan and Wells is a true treasure right in the heart of downtown Shelby, NC. Within walking distance of great restaurants and cute shops, its perfectly located. Plenty of hiking trails are available for those who want to get out about. The inn itself is beautiful and lovingly restored. We stayed in the Melvin Maurice room and it was wonderful - comfy bed, great A/C, and plenty of space to spread out. The breakfasts we had both mornings were filling and varied - everything from veggie frittatas to cinnamon roll french toast to cheese grits, everything we had was delicious. Melanie and her team truly have southern hospitality down to a science and we cant wait to return!

I would say Morgan & Wells is one of the most beautiful Bed & Breakfast locations Ive ever been too! While visiting Morgan & Wells, you can see how the owners attention to detail was very well represented throughout by the decorative choices within each room. All the rooms with has its own character fitting within the time period of the home. Its an all around charm in and out of the home. I must mention that the food is great and the staff is too!

I am so glad I found Morgan & Wells on my recent trip to Shelby, NC. I was looking for accommodations that were not just the standard hotel chain. Morgan & Wells did not disappoint. Melanie and her staff were so gracious and hospitable. The room, as well as the entire house, was well appointed. The bed was so nice and the bathroom was absolutely beautiful. The soaking tub...awesome!!!! Every space in the bed and breakfast was comfy. The breakfast was absolutely fabulous each morning. I will definitely be staying here on future trips.

I stayed this night at this B&B for a job interview and have found it to be one of the most pleasant experiences Ive had. The owner was very gracious and helped provide a lot of information on the area, as well as information on the company I was interviewing at. The room was comfortable and was a great place to do some last minute interview preparations and ensure that I was able to rest enough to do my best for the following day. The breakfast was prepared to the requests of myself and the other guests and made fresh that morning from a very talented chef. If I find myself needing to stay in the area again, this would absolutely be my first choice.

This is a beautiful historic house (100+yrs old) saved from destruction by the owners. They did a great job fixing it up and decorating it. The rooms are cozy and plenty large with private bathrooms. A private chef makes breakfast every morning for everyone. The owners, Melanie and Derek, are super awesome and friendly people who aim to please. If youre in this area, dont miss out on the treat of staying at this lovely place, you wont regret it.

We were greeted upon our arrival by our host and shown to our room and given interesting information about the unique house, restaurant tips, happenings in the area and much more. Fresh fruit and delicious family style breakfasts the three mornings we were there were enhanced by sharing stories and experiences with the other diverse, friendly guests. The hosts were wonderful. We recommend the Morgan and Wells B&B very highly.

Great place. Fantastic food and very friendly hosts. My only concern was lack of lighting in bathroom, and very limited places for guests to place their personal items., as every table and shelf had no room.

We got married in Shelby and wanted somewhere special to spend our first night together as Mr. & Mrs. There arent many unique options in the area and Im so glad we found Morgan & Wells! They were so accommodating to our needs (dropping stuff early that day and checking in after 10pm) and even welcomed us with chocolate and champagne! Melanie is fantastic and her staff the next morning created a delicious brunch served on the patio! The food was excellent and the people are even nicer. And omggg the sheets - softest sheets ever! I have to buy some for myself!

This was my first B&B experience and what a place to start me off. The bar was set really high! My wife and I came in a little later in the evening but it was never an issue with the host and she was very willing to make sure we got in safely.Once we arrived, we were given a brief tour and history of the home and made very quickly to feel at home. Everything we needed was layed out for us very clearly. Our night was very quiet, undisturbed and peaceful. The room accomodations were very classy, despite lots of age and character in an older home.I think our favorite part was the breakfast part of our stay. What an amazing meal, served hand and foot by the host: delicious food, great coffee, and a wonderful environment for breakfast with strangers (who we ended up coming to love). Owner was always very prompt in her response to any of our requests. We will definitely come here again!
