What a wonderful place. We feel so lucky to have stoped here on our drive through Wisconsin. The staff was very polite and informative. The gardens are spectacular with all sorts of story book scenes. The live art is so well done. The atmosphere was great and reminded us of electric forest. Great vibes and would highly recommend to anyone with children or adults looking for a relaxing experience in the woods/gardens
Bookworm Garden in Sheboygan, WI is absolutely phenomenal and the best $5 I spent on this trip. If we lived in Sheboygan we would definitely have a membership. The staff is friendly and welcoming, they go above and beyond to make things safe for social distancing. The garden itself is simply magical for adulta and children. If I could get married here, I would!
What a BEAUTIFUL place. There is nothing like it. So calm n peaceful feeling.
We love taking our grandson to this place. He had so much fun looking and play with all the setups they had outside for kids. The only thing u need to watch for is a rubber dinosaur that has colored bubbles that pop out when you squeeze it and go back in when you let go, when you squeeze it to much bubble(s) pop and color oozes out. We took it back but at that time they were closed for the season so the worker said she would make sure that it will be taken care of. Hoping to get back there this year yet
Went here with our 1 year old and she had a blast. A lot of great areas for kids. Love they are taking Covid 19 seriously by having to make reservations online, signs on the path ways indicating which way we should walk to avoid contact. Lot of hand sanitizer stations along the way. We are totally going back when my baby is older so she can have the experience again!
Cute place!! Interesting plants, beautiful areas. Love how its based on books! I highly recommend this place to anyone with children, loves the outdoors or plants. My favorite place to visit with the grandkids in Sheboygan.
Beautiful flowers and the exhibits were hands on. Kids and adults enjoyed the trip. Price was great for admission as well.
Walking through in the evening with all the lights was awesome. The kids loved it. It was a little crowded in a few spots but overall a great experience.
Nice, beautiful well kept garden and great design and concept for kids to enjoy
It was pretty cool! We had a blast looking at all the different books and exhibits. I enjoyed the butterflies the most!
We went there on weekday. Not crowded, well managed and maintained place. Fun for kids. I dont know if they have food options.
Excellent visit! SO CREATIVE! Nice attendants. And the gardens are spectacular. My 91 yr old mom loved it, too!
Beautiful magical place! For kids adults alike....a hidden treasure, must visit and support
Great for kids. Brush up on the stories. Lots of work went into putting this place together.
Most excellent place to stroll through. Your kids will love the displays based on childrens books. There are some great activities for kids to do also. Bring a picnic, you wont regret it. Will definitely be back.
Lovely people everywhere we went in Bookworm Gardens. Very accommodating and welcoming. Love it!!!
What an amazing exploration for all ages with a whimsical feel everyone can enjoy!
Beautiful and super cute place to take the kids. Lots of hands on activity for the kids to do, look and explore around. This place is free and absolutely fun for all ages.
Sweet little place with lots for the kids to explore. A playground or two would be nice additions.
Great Halloween themed gardens. The kids enjoyed the ghost spotting.
Whimsical, fairy tale land! Great place for both children and adults.
This is a wonderful place for kids and adults. The gardens are well kept up. The many different areas are well thought out and very colorful.
Unfortunately it was cold, wet and windy. Even though the weather was bad the grandkids didnt seem to notice and had a wonderful time. A great start to our Halloween holiday!
Beautiful gardens with some super cute and interactive displays for many, many books. My toddler hasnt read most of them and still talks about the 3 little pigs houses all the time. She had so much fun! I cant wait to read thru more of the list with her and go back!
It was such a fun experience! They have so many things to look at and so many things to do there. The great part about it is it’s free! And you can go there with your family wherever you’d like too
Spectacular hidden gem in Sheboygan! This garden is perfect for all ages and I love taking my grandchildren. The gardens are amazing in themselves, but visits to the homes of the Three Little Pigs, Poohs house, and Little House in the Big Woods (just to name a few of the many stories featured) make classic stories come alive. Explore Farmer McGregors garden and sit in the Three Bears chairs. This is learning at its best!
My family loves this place. Great atmosphere.
A very nice place. Garden was beautiful and calming. Kids enjoyed being there.
Bookworm gardens is a magical place to take kids and kids at heart! They are never too old to wash Walter! Bring a picnic lunch they have a beautiful and whimsical lunch area. They have wonderful events. Not to mention it is free! Truely be a hidden jem!
Great place for the kids with lots of hands on attractions!
Preregistration is required to limit people in the park. Everyone is directed to go clockwise around the paths to ensure spacing between groups. Masks are encouraged but not required. Bring your own hand sanitizer. Portapotties are only available at the entrance, near the parking area.
Great place for kids and kids at heart. Just an incredible gardens with surprises around every turn.
Very magical! I had a very enjoyable morning at this event with my 8 year old granddaughter.
Beautiful place. Came here to see the iron giraffe my mother donated
Whimsical book themed beautifully maintained gardens. Lots of fun interactive activities for children.
Whoever thought of this idea it is fantastic! Unbelievable gardens and references to books and all the work put into it, its amazing .
This place is amazing for young children and parents alike. Very well maintained and it keeps improving every year!
We have been coming here for years with our children. We came this time during the Covid time. As much as we love the beauty of it all and have always loved it here, we felt the masks on all the animals was overly excessive. I’m a counselor and I’m already seeing the trauma in young children. Because you had to remove all of the fun interactive stuff already that they so look forward to, to have big masks on everything was not helpful.
What a FUN place for kids and grownups! Theres something fun to look at and explore around every corner. Such much thought put into every design! Lots of interactive things to do. We visited from out of town- what a treasure to have in your community!
Wheelchair accessible with books made into gardens. It is a great way to spend time outside looking at really cool plants, also to see the stories come alive.
This was a beautiful place to take your children. It is free admission, which was nice. There was so much to see and so many fun activities for children of all ages. I definitely recommend going to this place if you are close to the area!
Great outdoor space to play. My kids enjoyed the story-themed activities and play areas.
Not a large garden but very nice. They put in several new items this year. Designed to appeal to younger children. Many books and places to sit and read the stories to children. Stories match area of garden. Free admission. Expect to spend at least an hour or more.
This place is probably my kids favorite place in all of Wisconsin. Weve been making the annual pilgrimage from Madison for five years now. They are 11 and 8 and still love it.
Absolutely gorgeous and plenty of fun things to do super fun for the kids, and full of great photo opportunities
Well done! A great activity for families
Wonderful place to visit, a little expensive for the experience but most things here are worth trying once.
Adorable!!!!!!!!! The place had more people than I anticipated, bit most were wearing masks, including the kids. They prefer cards for payment. Porta potties onsite.
Beautiful learning garden with fun special events and festive holidays. Here you can walk through areas themed from popular childrens books and find a spot for a picnic or use one of their tables with food and drink you bring in. There is one small gift shop with zero refreshments sold on site, so come prepared. Wonderful site to explore!
Beautiful gardens that are geared to kids. Even as a adult it was impressive and very whimsical! Highly recommend for a outing with children of all ages. Garden grounds were well maintained and very imaginative!
Great place for a stroll with kids lots to see and explore, its not always lit like this, its a special trick or treat night.
Fun for adults too. Love visiting here. You cant take pets along but that is my only complaint.
A wonderful place to take young childen. Many activities to hold their interest. A fun place for adults as well. We enjoyed watching the young children playing with the displays. Did I mention the beautiful gardens?
2 hour drive from north Chicago but cute 2+ hours exploring with the grand kids
A beautiful botanical garden that keeps kids interested. Definitely a must stop when in Sheboygan.
It was a heartwarming experience for the children and I. Staff was helpful and friendly.
What a place! Donations only. Spent 2.5 hours here with 2 gkids. Tons of stuff to look at. Read books on the spot about the scenery. Paths and paths, the kids didnt know which way to go. It was fun to watch. And if you love flowers and plants there is a huge amount to look at.
Majestic enchanting place amazing fir the family. Come w lots of.time and read a book.to the kids as they play in he scenes of the book. Lots of book stations.Highly recommended!
Beautifull place! They could improve by adding more games for the kids to interact
Oh my goodness, this place is so cute! We were passing through the area for work and decided to stop. This is a great place for pictures.
Im korean and I visited my aunt in sheboygan. And I had a chance to go to bookwarm garden by googling. It was so peaceful and charming place for adults and children. I wish i visited there again soon.
This is a really neat place. Its not necessarily a garden, but its a landscaped adventure through different areas that are designed based off of childrens books. They do have lots of plants, and it is surrounded by woods. Its a very pretty and neat place, plus there are a ton of interactive features and areas for young kids. It gets pretty busy so be prepared to move around people. Also you can bring a stroller (as we did) but you have to navigate around people and some tough terrain.
Great concept. Fun garden. Beautiful flowers and plants.
Fantastic place to bring small children.
What a beautiful garden! Such a great place to visit with kids, family, friends, really anyone! The garden is absolutely gorgeous, and love that its themed and tied to books. You could spend at minimum an hour here, all the way to a day depending on how many books and activities you do. Staff is hardworking, and very friendly. A great way to get kids excited about reading!
We just moved out here to Sheboygan and it has become one of my sons favorite spots. Seeing some of his favorite books ccme to life is such a fun experience.
Beautiful and enchanting place. My children had so much fun exploring.
Such a wonderful place to take your children to explore!
It was a nice experience, but not alot to do. My brother didnt have much fun unfortunately, but it was a fair price for what was offered.
Wonderful place to visit while in Sheboygan. So many creative things to look at.

A real hidden gem. Grandkids loved it, and we enjoyed being with them. Beautiful flowers everywhere, thoughtful design and smart ways to promote reading.
Such a beautiful place to visit. Fun for kids and adults! Lots of activities.
Lots of fun for kids of all ages. Admission is free, but be sure to donate.
The summer solstice event was awesome! We had a great time doing the wine scavenger hunt! Then we had some food and listened to the whiskey Belles and enjoyed their set so much we talked to them afterwards and it was just a lovely evening!
Great place for kids to be and read. So many exhibits. And activities to do. I highly recommend bookworm gardens to all families.
We had a wonderful time at these beautiful gardens. The paths lead you to all sorts of incredible themed areas, a farm, woodlands, cottages, a waterwall with wonderful musical creations, andca beautiful koi pond. We spent hours here and loved every minute. You have to see it for your self to truly take it all in. We will definitely return when we are in the area again!
Fairy festival was cool for our little girls to experience hope they do it again.
Such a cool park for kids and parents! Awesome creations of some of our favorite stories. This place is a must if you are in the area!
Such a cool place to visit. Kids loved the different areas and the laminated books distributed through out the property.
Bookworm Gardens is an amazing place to take the little ones to. The garden is beautiful and there is a large collection of interactive displays based on favorite childrens books. There is so much to do here and there is no admission charged. There is a donation box by the entrance if care help support the upkeep of the facility.
Absolutely beautiful and plenty of things to look at and go into to keep my 3 year olds entertained. My son said he thought he was dreaming, it is so wonderfully done. Beautiful flowers and props tie to childrens story books. Small structures and playhouse type things for kids to go into. Educational items such as composting area and signs with flower names. Stream with Koi pond. Kids music area with xylophone. I can not see why anyone would give this place anything less than 5 stars, especially being a donation only attraction. Will be back and will sign up and donate to be members. What a wonderful asset to the community. Only con is a smaller bathroom, 2 or 3 stalls I believe.
Great place for kids and always has several events over the summer. Tons of fun things to see straight from classic books along with educational stations.
First time there and loved it. Grandson was enjoying so much, besides us adults. Wish the gift shop had more stuff to buy. Did find a few things but bigger would of been nicer. Wish everyone donated when they come through. Beautiful place. Going back.
Excellent and so beautiful and creative.I took my granddaughter who is almost 11 and we both had a wonderful time.We played songs on instruments, read stories, built fairy houses, bird watched and drew. We typed a letter, had a tea party, and we learned some Japanese. It was truly a magical place!
Great place for lil kids
Very neat place, children & adults can appreciate it!
Lovely gardens, perfect for an afternoon stroll.
I love to take my kids here. They always have a wonderful time here. They do an awesome job on the upkeep. So many neat sculptures
What a wonderful place to wall around and enjoy nature.great place for kids.
It was an amazing place. If you cant afford a lot. Kids love it.
When it was first being built, the impression was that it was a project by people with too much money and too much time on their hands. It was a yuppie vision of what nature should look like. They altered a fine wildlife area and built, what can best be described as, a whimsical wonderland. Stone dinosaur, whirling colorful things, pathways through whimsy are waiting to entertain families with kids who like safe nature. I wasnt overly thrilled about the habitat destruction to build the place. But I have to bury the curmudgeon side of me and admit that the place is cute; and kids seem to love it. Just because I like my nature undeveloped and dangerous, doesnt mean there arent people out there who love this type of place. It is family friendly for those who have young children. For that I give it an extra star. Its just not my cup of tea
Amazing place and well worth the time. No fee to enter but a small donation
Wonderful garden for children and the young of heart.
Fun for the whole family!
Beautiful place! Its small, but well designed. Very well maintained, nothing rickety. Very child friendly with many places to play. I dont have kids, but I found a quiet place to paint and listen to them play.
