Great park!!!!!! I’ve lived in the Twin Cities for a long time, but just discovered this park this last summer. Just awesome. Interesting history, great walking trail in the woods, and well taken care of. Lots of activities in the summer but not overly crowded or anything.
I like to ride my bike around the Landing and look at all the buildings in the village. Its a neat area with history
A wonderful place to gain a perspective on the last two hundred years of Minnesota history. Authentic homesteads from various Minnesota communities have been moved here and placed in their historical environments. In season and post-COVID, one can walk through time from early German settlers through late 19th century English influence with guides dressed in period-appropriate clothing and retelling their story of hardships of their time. It’s an excellent place for Minnesota 6th graders to gain hands-on experience with what they’re learning in classrooms. Its also excellent for adults to gain a broad understanding of Minnesota history.
Fantastic place..actors beyond awesome..staff same...lots of very interesting history.love love love this place
I enjoyed walking around and seeing things, especially the animals; however, I would have enjoyed learning about the buildings, and it appeared there were info plaques, but they were not in their holders. I assumed, maybe things had been getting vandalised, but they could do a QR code to a digital info plaque or something!
Cool place thats open to the public to walk around and explore.
Never been here before? Go today. What a treasure they have in Shakopee.
Nice trail along the river and surrounded by ancient trees
Great other than the mosquitos
One of my favorite historic places to visit with the kids. Its such a fun history lesson to step back in time for the day. The tour guides/actors are awesome and so passionate about what they do. Definitely get out and see it - especially at Christmas!
Take a trip back in time.
Growing up my parents would take my sister and I here often. Summer or winter it was always so much fun. What a great way to enjoy history.
Went to the cooking class and had an amazing experience. Was super fun, interesting and full of history. Awesome instructor, incredible small class size, very valuable learning.
Its so odd to call this just The Landing now - when we say it, people dont know what were referring to. We took our 7 y.o. niece here for her birthday in August, on a Saturday. It was very, very quiet. She loved it because that meant she was the center of everyones attention! She had a blast playing with the old time toys, building a log cabin, and seeing the old houses. If we didnt have her with us, I would try to go when the have special evets so theres more going on...but if you have kids, theyll enjoy it no matter what.
We enjoyed this piece of time bound Minnesota that is tucked away in a corner in Shakopee. We went on the guided tour, which cost us $5 apiece and it proved to be fairly interesting if a little long. We did not go when there were re-enactments going on and I am sure that would make the whole tour a lot more fun!The houses were different enough to keep our interest engaged, but you would have to enjoy history to enjoy the tour. The guides were pretty knowledgeable, and answered most of our questions which was nice!
Interesting
Lots of period houses and artifact s. Good period actors with lots of knowledge. Fun time. Dress warm in winter!!
Great historical site, very friendly staff that are excited about history. Beautiful.
The people that work here put alot of heart and soul into this park, to keep it true to the time period. We loved walking through it.
Overall still an enjoyable historic village, love the blacksmith and carpenter. Disappointing that they no longer have the horse drawn trolleys.
Came for the Christmas tour, very interesting and neat to see all the different ways Christmas was celebrated.
The history the lovely countryside and the people
Great place to take kids to learn about and experience history.
You feel like you have stepped back in time... The times of hard work & utter survival.
Fairly extensive live historical reenactment of a nineteenth century settlement.
Had a great time with the kids! Great actors!
Looks like theyre out of business. Closed all last weekend??? Neighbor saw them moving some large coolers out of the building??
