Enjoyed learning more about finding treasure from sunken ships and seeing some restored pieces. They had a fun page for my son (8) to find things and answer questions with a treasure at the end. We really liked this tour. Took about an hour but you could stay longer if you read everything.

This museum is worth a visit. It explains why the treasure coast is called the treasure coast and what the treasure hunters have found over the years. Mel Fisher was one of the main treasure hunters and its a museum dedicated to his work. The intro Video is looking dated but it sets the scene for what the museum is about. More an adult museum than for children.

Love this place, the journey, its quite interesting, charming and with a lot of beautiful treasures. And the shop OMG, ask my credit card whet in 2 days and bought some of those beautiful pieces. Came bring your whole family. Good for kids and adults

For a smaller sized museum it had a lot of very nice pieces and stories. Small video at the beginning was very informative. It was a very welcoming visit. Very nice shop at the end for purchasing a variety of items at a variety of prices.

Small, interesting museum about Mel Fishers 10 year hunt for a sunken Spanish galleon that was allegedly loaded with treasure. He and his crew found it and it was one of the biggest treasure finds in Florida history. They have a gift shop of jewelry made from some of the gold and silver that was recovered. Prices range from $40 to thousands. We bought a refrigerator magnet for $10. Not a bad way to spend a couple hours on a rainy afternoon. Kids would enjoy it, but the movie near the entrance of the museum might be kind of long for them. You may not want to wear a hat as I was wearing a baseball cap and was told by the security guard that I had to take it off or wear it backwards so the facial recognition cameras could get a clear picture of my face. Never knew theft was an issue in these tiny museums, but, they do have a lot of gold, silver and precious gems on display.

I would definitely recommend anyone looking for something to do in Indian River County to go ahead to Mel Fishers treasures you will be very happy that you took the time to go and look it is a lot of fun and the gift shop is a lot of interesting stuff that you have the ability to buy so I would highly recommend once again anyone to go and take a trip to Mel Fishers treasures.

You shouldn’t miss this museum. It’s not huge and doesn’t take long but it is well worth it. Treasures from shipwrecks and the size of the haul is very impressive and worth a lot of money today. You can even buy some pieces of the treasure in the gift shop. It is a story about perseverance.

Very interesting information regarding the Treasure Coast history. Learn how gold, silver, emeralds, etc. were recovered from the sea from sunken ships over the past 60+ years by the Fisher family and crews.See how these treasures were reclaimed and there are many to be examined at this location. Many are available in the gift shop too.

This is a nice place to take kids. Most of the artifacts are from the Atocha, which was part of the 1715 Spanish fleet. Lots of Gold and silver artifacts. When you get inside they ask you to watch a 22 minute film that shows a Brief history of the fisher treasure expedition. The staff is friendly and the gift shop is pretty nice. Affordable things and super expensive treaure.

Its a unique place, if your visiting Florida and youre in the area I would say you should stop by and check it out. I give it 5 stars because Ive never seen anywhere else like it and it represents a notable part of Floridas history. This place tells a story worth telling that can awaken feelings of adventure and the excitement of knowing the possibilities of the unknown. Be sure to plan a beach trip for the kids after going here. Wabasso Beach is the closest beach, you can see on my review of that beach some of the sharks teeth and sea glass I found there.

The movie they have you watch really needs an update, as well as the museum in general. It still has cool things to look at but its very tiny and can be done in a matter of 10 minutes. If you love pirates/pirate history, Im not sure Id recommend this place. It focuses on just one single local exhibition rather than including history of other pirates and journeys.

Its a wonderful place to visit...very educational. i am in the travel business and have sent many friends and family to this museum. Nice restaurants close by for a good lunch or dinner. They also offer a $5 discount coupon for your savings.

We visited the Mel Fisher Museum when we were camping at Sabastian Inlet State Park. This a smallish museum pack with a lot of history. They have a video presentation and many artifacts. If you have time I would stop by and check it out.

My wife and I took our two girls, age 9 and 14. We got a great deal on Groupon, $16 for all of us! The place is a bit dated but very interesting. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. After an introductory movie, we were off exploring the place. Many interesting artifacts and facts of treasure hunting and some of the history. My youngest daughter bought me a book on Mel from the gift shop with her Christmas money, great read, super interesting. A place you can go through within an hour or so if your interested. I one day would like to visit the Key West location..

This place is wonderful! The safe is so nice and kind.

I attended with a NH diver and we really enjoyed it. Well done exhibits, which included fabulous ordinary items of the times in addition to treasure, such as ceramics, medical implements and cooking tools. Excited to see how much care is taken in documenting sites and data for future study.

Went there today, I had a blast. I metal detect as a hobby so we all know Mel Fisher. I enjoyed the video about him and the artifacts in the museum. The staff was great and friendly. I couldnt make it to Key West but its not far off 95 and worth getting out of the car for at least for me being a history and treasure junkie.

Thisis a small museum but very cool. I went with 3 other adults and 2 teenagers. I found discounts on groupon. Mel Fishers story is very interesting and the treasure is awesome.

Great place to bring your little treasure hunters! It took us about an hour to walk through. My boys as well as myself had a fun time learning.

This place is over the top I want to see some real history real silver and gold from Pirates of the bottom of the ocean this is the place also have the opportunity to own a piece of the gold and silver that was at the bottom of the ocean that Mel Fisher found their family has went above and beyond for this Museum we were very very happy to be here it was in my wifes bucket list so it had to be done I was very impressed

Great treasure experience! You can hold a real gold bar from a sunken spanish gallion (Atocha). Lots of gold and silver coins to look at. They also have on display relegious crosses, rings, raw uncut emeralds and gold chains that are 8 feet long. A 20 minute educational video is also showed that gave the hisitory of the biggest treasure find in the world today. Go to Mel Fischers website for Melbourne Florida and print the 5 dollar off admission coupon.

A great place to visit. A great tribute to the 1715 Fleet, the Atocha and the vision and persistence of the Fisher family. It is a GREAT place to do a little shopping in the gift shop, too!

If you visit the Treasure Coast you have to stop by at this nice museum that shows interesting items found before our coast. Needs a little TLC over the time they are open now. Great for children and young in hearts elderly folks. The gift shop offers nice souvenirs from a couple dollar item to a real gold coin on a chain.

We were really exited to come here only to get disappointed. The gift shop is bigger than the museum. There’s not really that much neat stuff on display, And it’s very deceptive as to the size. Small. We both agreed that we would have rather spent the money feeding homeless people then come here.

Very educational museum! It packed a lot of information and displays into the museum. You can be in and out in less than an hour even if you watch the 20 minute movie, read all the placards, and spend a few minutes browsing the gift shop. On the expensive side of your wallet, they offer an impressive selection of actual artifacts from the Atocha wreckage (smaller or lower quality pieces ranging from the low hundreds and higher quality pieces in the thirty thousands). On the cheaper side of your wallet the gift shop has an average selection of pirate themed memorabilia, as well as a few educational booklets. I do wish that they had a wider selection of cheaper items that resembled the artifacts from the wreckage - like those gorgeous gold and emerald cross pendants! Maybe even smaller replica boats or little cannons. Most of the cheaper items dont have a direct connection to the Atocha, so those of us who cant afford pricey gold doubloons or authentic emeralds could have something cool to remember the trip by. OVERALL, the museum is well worth the trip and I would definitely recommend visiting if youre in the area.

I love history and I met Mel in the Florida keys every young man has dreamed of finding buried treasure and to see something that was hidden for 350 years and hear the stories of some of the pieces and what a man went through to find it . It puts thoughts of adventure and chills up your spine. Go see this place itll make you buy a shovel and bucket and dig upthe beach

Great history and artifacts. Take the time to watch the movie at the beginning it has a great story in it. This place is wonderful for an afternoon trip, incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff.

This was my first time checking the museum out. Ive always been fascinated with the shipwrecks off the coast so this was right up my alley! There is a movie you can watch at the beginning, I think it needs to be updated badly. My 9 yo was ready Ieave the theater after about 2 minutes. After that though, everything was very interesting. They had great treasures displayed, interesting information, and several hands on displays for us to play with. I would love to see some modernizing of the museum as a whole, but it was still a great way to spend an hour or two learning about Mel Fishers finds. The woman that works the gift shop was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly.

Informative and affordable. I was surprised at how affordable it was for 3 adults, $20. So much information and artifacts to show the history of the area pertaining to the ships that have been lost in those waters. Staff were helpful and friendly.

It was okay. Some cool artifacts, but the whole thing lacks excitement and was definitely done on a budget. I loved the history and story of adventure though.

Visited on A Tuesday afternoon. Not busy and were glad since the place is pretty small and packed in. We bumped in to the several people that were there. Displays were decent. A lot of information to read. This museum had more information about Mel Fisher then the Key West location. Some very impressive finds were on display. With the $5 discount it was $9 entrance for the 2 of us. Recommend.

Went with 5 & 10 yr old granddaughters and they loved it. We did too. It has great exhibits with extensive info. It is a smaller venue but thorough. I encourage you to attend

I was surprisingly delighted by my visit here! It offers much more inside then the unassuming building would suggest. Take the few minutes to watch the video presentation, as it makes the museum more meaningful and interesting when you know more about it.

I wanted to purchase an authentic Atocha coin pendant for my anniversary. Even though Im 3 hours from the Sebastian FL location, Kay was fantastic! She walked me thru a lot of options, and helped me find the perfect one. She even shipped the coin pendant the very next day, and it arrived along with the paperwork extremely fast! Do yourselves a huge favor and make sure you go thru Kay for any and all coin purchases!!

Fun, touristy diversion. The place is small, but well-packed with memorabilia and a storyline worth following. The staff are friendly. Like a good Disney ride, everything filters through to a store at the end where youre encouraged to buy your own treasures.

This place was filled with pirate booty and kisses mean that in the maritime sense and not the hip-hop sense. It was fascinating to see all the gold, silver and relics just laying around the on the bottom of the sea. I only wish I could have found some of my own. Either way it was awesome to see. Theres even a spot where you can lift and hold a gold bar. The security guy with the tattoos on his head isnt a fan of trying to open the portal... Youve been warned
