It’s a neat little enclave at the south end of Lake Union right in the middle of the city. There is a neat little pedestrian bridge over a small inlet that takes you to the wooden boat center(where you can see neat old boats moored there frequently)and MOHAI. It is also within a stone’s throw from Kenmore Air where you can see seaplanes taking off and landing on the lake. Pretty neat!
Nice place for jogging and to unwind and relax. Many ducks in the lake, just tending to their business. Visited Virginia V....its a free tour would recommend if you are a history enthusiast. You get a nice view of space needle from here. The atmosphere was hazy the day I went here due to California wild fires.
Definitely a good place to visit. It would be great if you get a chance to visit it from inside. A good place to go for a walk in the evening or night. A boat manufacturer’s place near to that is also amazing. A good place to sit on the edge, enjoy boats, lights and amazing sky.
This has always been my go to place for some peace. The aggressive geese, quiet waters, landing sea planes! If you want to just hang out in the open and need a break, this is a great place to spend time at! Plus, there are many cafes and restaurants around if want to grab a bite/drink.
Long paved trail that winds around boat docks, a toy boat pond, geese, a trolley, historic sail and steam boats, a museum, and center on wooden boats - - that hosts classes on HOW to make them. Beautiful views of the lake and a wonderful place to think, walk, run, ride, or paint.
This used to be such a great park, and is still if you go in a large enough group, but unfortunately the homeless crisis has moved in to the park. While working out there, my buddy and I had someone talking about trying to fight him after zero interaction. The same individuals were harassing women as they tried to walk through the park, to the point they turned around and left. It’s sad to see yet another neighborhood fall victim to terrible city leadership.
The sun was out and everyone was enjoying the sunset. Lots of families and people exercising. Cool wooden boats!
Great place for a walk or jogging.. Especially on a sunny day its a really nice place to chill.. During covid all the rent a boat places are closed but still lots of places nearby to visit..
Every thing closed. Still nice walk. Well taken care of. Would be a five star rating if not for the closures.
Good place to sight seeing, walk leisurely or jog, or zen out. Nice place to spend time with family and friends. I dont think itll be a good place during winter times.
A small park on the lakefront just opposite to gas works park with beautiful views of the lake! There is also a walking trail around lake which seems to be closed at present due to some construction work along the route!
Nice spot in evening to relax beside water. There is enough space to walk and jog and to sit and relax. You can also rent a boat and go for a ride in the lake. Gives a very good of needle as well! Must visit on a nice evening!
Nice park with a water body, nice spot for picnic
Most amazing place to go in the regular evening. Breaze is so good. Its peaceful place where you can relax play or jump in Lake
Lake Union Park is a pretty park opposite Lake Union from Gas Works Park. The MOHAI and Center for Wooden Boats feel integrated with this park. It is fairly spacious, theres a pond that children can play with remote boats in, a sidewalk fountain, a short bridge, and wooden tiers or steps to sit on the waterfront. You have a nice view of the lake and the Space Needle. I enjoy jogging here, walking around, and watching boats in the lake. Overall, I think its a great park, I would study at Lake Union Park with friends, or bring visitors from out of town nearby.
Its pretty, but theres a comical number of geese whenever the weather is nice. This leads to a comical amount of goose... excrement, which makes it kinda hard to linger for very long. That being said, the Canada Goose is a majestic creature and no man has any right to bother them.
Its clean, good views, quiet, lots of boats to view and activities like paddling, kayaking, boat airplanes. A good place to read a book or relax.
Nice place to relax. Watching the birds is relaxing and there is a nice breeze from the lake.
A post during pandemic: There is no social distancing as such. Went on a Sunday, people were enjoying a sunny day like normal... There were lots of dog. A good place
Little maintainence of the park makes it gross from all the duck poop around. Nevertheless, it has some beautiful waterfront views to the north and downtown views to the south.
Really enjoyed hanging out here, wandering amongst the ships and reading about them. I was also entertained by the folks jumping off the bridge and walking the tightrope (right next to the signs saying, “no swimming”) :-). It felt much like what I see in Central America and SE Asia, where the community was out just being a community
Love the neighborhood-proclaimed dog beach. Haven’t been here since pre-model. Great job, team Seattlelites
I love to go watch people play on the lake. Its pretty. I dream of owning one of those yachts one day. Shoot, or even just a boat! Haha. Nice place to go walking.
This has a great walking path all around the lake. Start at the south of the lake by the wood boat exhibit and head north on the west side of the lake. If you need to stop Fremont brewing just 15 min down from the troll. It is a great spot for a brew but be warned they don’t have any food. It’s a 30 min walk from Fremont brewing to Eastlake bar and grille. Then follow the trail south back to the beginning.
Because its a good go, and the location in direction from where I live and stay is full and an outdoor good deal positivity. To go to. The two of us. And the geese we love to visit as well.
This is a very scenic and well kept park that I love to just walk around and feel at peace. The early morning hours are the best when there arent so many people strolling around and breaking up the serenity of the place. Of course, you have the MOHI Museum there as well where you can learn about the history of Seattle.
A great place to take a break, from my ride on the Lake Union Bike Trail, and for watching for an occasional seaplane landing or taking off as well. This clean and well kept park provides a true contrast from the urban core just to the South and West. Views of the lake and of I5 and the North end of Capital Hill are awesome. Enjoy these views, take a break from a journey, and feed some tame geese if you are brave from the many public view points and large benches here. These wood benches are wide so they are perfect for picnics, a break from work, or just to go hang out if like me you are lucky enough to live in the city.
We had great time running around and the center of wooden boats just around the corner. There are a lot of Canadian goose though, better watch out for them and their poop. Otherwise, nice view and nice park space
Beautiful park right next to Lake Union. Ample parking around the lake, however most are paid during normal business hours. A lot of fun things to see - the water feature, the fountain, and a fun historical bridge. Great place to bring children. However, be aware that for parts of the year large flocks of geese like to hang out all around the park. They are harmless but there is tons of goose poop all over park - grass, sidewalks, etc. And some may get aggressive if they feel their baby geese are in danger.
A great place to go for a walk or picnic. Great people and dog viewing opportunities. Awesome to look at old boats, sail boats, and sea planes. Some of the old boats you can even go inside. Lots of goose poop on grass and concrete. MOHAI museum right there if youd like to learn some local history.
Cool place to sit and watch the sea planes come and go
It was pretty packed but jumping off the bridge has been one of the highlights of our summer & the water was very clean & refreshing
Great for short contemplative walks, not enough connecting trails for long soul search walks. Most people will sit and watch the sail boats and float planes. In the summer you can jump off the bridge and talk and cool off in the water. I wish the were a way to chase of the ducks and geese which can make a mess of the grassy area. Great view of the needle, caught this picture a while back from outside of the MOHAI.
Nice park with a lot of options for the entire family! Location is great, right next to the Street Car stop! Plenty of wooden boats to check out. There is water access close by, and you can watch the seaplanes take off and land right in front. There are also some short cruises on the lake! A public restroom would be a helpful addition.
Nice park. Good amount of seating spaces. Nice sea view.
Beautiful scenery but it does get crowded on nice days. Difficult to social distance here on hot days
Lovely park downtown with water thats warm enough to swim. The grass is not as nice as other parks, and theres lots of geese, but this is still the best park to go for a picnic and swim downtown.
Fun waterfront location. Plenty to do in the park, loads of eating options nearby, rent a boat or watch seaplanes take off.
This isn’t really much of a park, as the grassy area is small and there’s not much to do. However, the view that you get here is very unique. From Lake Union Park, you can see sea planes taking flight, boats cruising the water, and even make out gas works park in the distance. It’s fun to just sit on the stairs and watch for a while, although Lake Union Park also has festivals and events pretty frequently too.
Great place for a walk with amazing scenery of the boats and the water. Great place to play Pokemon Go as well.
Take the Sunday cruise, nice way to see the lake union. Runs every hour but there will be a line so try to get there a bit early to be sure youll get on the time you want. I believe you can also paid ahead of time but we didnt get the time to do that ahead. Scenery is gorgeous and lots of activities go on in this lake, you wont get bored. The floating homes are my favorite!
Cool place for boating and flying. Nice are to seat for few hours and enjoy the movements in the water.
Most comfortable neighborhood for me to in Seattle. Dont make it here so much due to weather. But, really nice to see long construction projects finishing up. Lots of new restaurants being built. Signs are going up. Thriving part of Puget sound community. Like a whole new city was built inside the city. Outsiders are few and far between.
Nice Area to chill out by the water and there nice bars and restaurants $$$
Really special place to spend time alone or w a loved one...
Too good park... nice breeze .... streetcar ride to the park was fun too.. kids had great time.. :)
Excellent small park at the south end of Lake Union. One of the best places to enjoy Seattle in the summer (and its not terrible in other seasons, either). Gas Works Park in the north has the better views, but Lake Union Park makes up for it with the Museum of History and Industry and all the historic boats. Plus its a lot easier to get to on public transit.
Its a lovely strolling place in the evening, late afternoon... A bit crowded, but people are maintaining social distancing..
Beautiful lakeside park in downtown. It is a must stop for locals and tourists alike. The park is right beside the Kenmore Air seaplane dock and the Argosy Ship Lake tours and is the launch pad for other smaller (check out the pirate and ice cream-themed cruises) lake tours in the area.Lots of open space for playing frisbee, getting a tan, or lounging by the water as you watch the seaplanes land and depart, kayaks and all shapes and sizes of boats.Bring cash if youd like to explore some of the boats docked (for donation). The Sea Shepherd boat is there this summer to promote their mission and sell merch to raise funds. Its a beautiful boat for a noble cause.Plenty of pay parking though you are limited to maximum of four hours (you can just move your car to another spot to start the 4 hour clock over again). There is a small strip of beach for swimming though you have to share the water with the seaplanes arriving and departing - so keep an eye out. You can also launch your kayak from the beach. There is a Starbucks nearby, and a cafe at the MOHAI. Otherwise, food and drink options are limited.
It’s a great place to chill and watch sea planes land or get involved in some water sports! There are plenty of coffee shops nearby so grab a cuppa and just sit down and relax!
The park is ok. The ambience of the lake, float planes, MOHAI, and the Center for Wooden Boats make for a nice atmosphere. The presence of goose poop everywhere is off putting.Traffic and parking already are tough and it will get tougher with pending new construction.
Really nice place to spend the day at the beach or roll around on a skateboard
One of the most beautiful places to visit in Seattle! There is a lovely walk, run, and bike path on the Westlake side. This is also walking distance from the lively South Lake Union (SLU) where you will find a combination of businesses and restaurants. This is an ideal spot on a warm and sunny summer day!
8/10, would blow leaves out of the streetcar tracks again.
Beautiful park and marina. Being on the lake gives a different perspective and view of the city sky line and surrounding houses.
Really nice open grass areas and walkways that are well maintained. It’s a good spot to view the seaplanes, paddle-boarders & kayakers, and take in the water.
Great spot to get away from Seattle traffic. Watch out for the goose poop.
Nice afternoon when the weather is nice, Sunday’s there are free boat rides. Place to catch Kenmore Air flights.
Good views of the space needle and a nice place to run. I love all the geese, but with geese comes a lot of goose poop which is difficult to dodge.
Absolutely love the atmosphere. Loots of kids and opportunities to play in the water.
Amazing view of lake union. Cute landscape. Need to revisit when the museums reopen.
Beautiful place to paddle board, row boat or sail. Be sure to check out The Center for Wooden Boats
Best place to sit and watch the 4th of JULY fireworks, family enjoyed it.
Lovely place to have a walk around on a nice sunny day. Sundays are the best, you can go to the Wooden Boat and queue up before 10am to get a free boat ride, or you can pay 12USD to get a 45min boat tour in the Sunday Ice-cream Cruise.Really worth the visit, it is not only about having a boat ride but also the green around the lake and the geese walking around with their ducklings.
Beautiful place. Amazing for a eve walk or a jog.
Great place to take a quick stroll and relax
Very nice park with views of the city and Lake Union!
Wonderful place to explore. You got the MOHAI (Museum of History and Industry), Center for Wooden Boats, classy restaurants, float planes coming and going from Kenmore Air, lots of people to watch, and geese pooping. In general, all the vibrancy of South Lake Union.
Serene and beutiful. Must visit place to enjoy an afternoon.
Beautiful place to sit and watch the lake, wildlife and even people watch. I enjoy it most eat on a summer morning when there isnt much traffic or many people about.
Beautiful setting clean no trash ample parking
It was a lovely place the relax and watch the 4th of July fireworks.
Great views and cool wooden boat collection.
One of the best park Ive ever been to. Cant suggest this place enough. Beautiful walkway, feels like a hidden gem even though there are so many people around. Also next to a bunch of galleries so makes a great night out.
Visited the MOHAI Museum (Museum of History and Industry) at Lake Union. Wonder displays of Seattles early days and how it developed
Nice, clean, no angry homeless
Small yet beautiful park. Its located on the banks of lake Union. Many geese and ducks swim near the banks. It has a nice view as well. A small bridge gives some information about Seattles history. Good place to chill out!
Deserves 5 stars and the weather is perfect for walking with a pretty girl today!! Great spot.
Took my dogs here before work.
Its no better than what could be expected in a city overrun by homeless people who can act with impunity. This is why we cant have nice things.
Love love love this place . Fun to watch the boats and planes come in and out as well as people watching. The MOHAI is awesome as well! Seattle has such a cool history of innovation and you get to experience all the best aspects of it. Wish there was more Native art and cultural influence in this area of the city however. Its turning into a tech lunch park!
Great park with a great view. My dogs loved it as well!
Very nice lake facing park...
Nice place to relax
A beautiful place on a beautiful day
Love this park. Great spot to relax and watch sea planes take off and land.
So much fun. the water is not freezing.
Many people there without a mask and not respecting social distancing. The park needs to be shut down for a few months.
Went down to the Center for Wooden Boats. First time and very interesting. Dave did a nice job of welcoming us and provided lots of info. Look forward to going again. The location is great to, next to the water.
A newer park carved into the southern shore of Lake Union. An urban park, you wont escape some noise outdoors. But with The Wooden Boat Museum (free) and MOHAI (museum of history and industry), theres plenty to see and do. Paid parking, yes, but well served by transit. The park has its own super convenient Seattle Streetcar stop. If you plan to grab lunch, Cask and Trotter and other great restaurants just steps from the park. Outdoor events are hosted in the summer months.
Close to the center of Downtown Seattle. Provides access to green space and water. It is just a quick 20 minute walk or you can take the streetcar ride from downtown. Wonderful place to stroll, get on a boat, or take a moment to just catch your breath.
Love this park so vool
Such a scenic place to relax. Not much shelter so best to avoid when it downpours.
