This is a hidden gem of Seattle. A must for all. Plenty of space. Come here to meditate, fly a kite or your drone. Ride you bike or roller blade. Walk you dog or throw a Frisbee.Perfect for kids. Hugh playground, slides, and zip lines. Has a skate board park.
Jefferson Park is one of the best in the city. It has a great play area for kids, a zip line, a skateboard park that Tony Hawk has used for an event, play fields, a basketball court and lots of green space. As a bonus, it also has great western views.
This 52-plus acre park hosts a gorgeous view of downtown Seattle and Puget Sound. Its great for leisurely walks, which i try to do before work and during lunch break, since I work just a few minutes away. My wife and I enjoy a picnic theere on weekends. You can drive a bit south on Beacon Ave and get delicious Filipino deli food at Fou Lee Market. Try the kare kare. There are two tennis courts with no backboard. Theres plenty of playground gear for little kids. I think that there is a wading pool for tiny tots in the summer, not sure. There are pavilions, picnic tables and barbecues, though they might be restricted due to Covid-19.There is a big parking lot and next door are a golf driving range, a lawn bowling club, a BIG community garden, and a golf course across the street. Before Covid-19, Filipino farmers from Eastern Washington held a market in the parking lot on summer Saturday mornings. I hope that this comes back!We have joined friends under our canopies for birthday parties at Jefferson Park. It never feels crowded, though on weekends, the parking lot does fill up.Recently my Google Maps took me to street parking on the south side. You can search for Beacon Food Forest to get the same result. Thats the community garden. You will find sidewalks leading into the park.
Our visit was nice. Only a few weird interactions at 12 feet away but scraping past our stroller. Completely off the path and unnecessary. With that being the limit of our interaction, its just coincidental. But as a parent, I WANT other parents to be aware. This was middle of the day. Park was maybe 30% capacity for covid. By no means packed. Its just enough to send out a warning to others.Mind your little ones ever closer in this beautiful park
If you need. Fun park, this one is it. Lots of structures, open fields, and space. From a skate park to multiple types of play spaces, it has all the traditional parts. However, MY FAVORITE thing is the Food Forrest. Its all the way on the west side of the park. Opposite side from park parking, so either park off Columbia or plan to walk all the way over. Which isnt a bad walk.I reccomend you check out the Beacon Hill Food Forrest website and social media before going, just to get a feel of what its all about. Lots of walking areas and tons of foraging encouraged (as long as its not in the Pea Patches! Dont worry, its easy to find a sign and avoid if you give a quick look). They also have tons of fun volunteering you can do, even during these covid times they have solo work they can give you.
An absolutely beautiful park with lots to do for kids and beyond, with walking/bike paths, a skate park, zip lines, jungle gym, swings, and driving range... Oh yeah, and great views of the city from anywhere in the park!!! We had a little picnic bringing a portable grill, lots of food, and some beverages and enjoyed some awesome quality time with friends.
Very ideal place for kite flying, but for sports, the field is very rough.
Beautifully kept park with community center. Skate park, playground, big open field, golf and lawn bowling center I wish I had played here when I was little!
Beautiful views of downtown Seattle from walking paths and driving range. Has been a great place for picnics lately. Park seems to have something for everyone. Skate park, basketball, golf, lawn bowling, playground equipment or just a nice walk.
Lots of walking trails, grassy expanses, and athletic fields (tennis, baseball, soccer, and skate park that I remember). Family friendly and able to social distance. Many dogs being walked.
Pretty decent park with lots of potential for all sorts of activities. Particularly great for an evening jog with spectacular view of sunset on the horizon with magical clouds.
This park is a nice break if you’re in the area. I was visiting my brother at the VA in August, and this allowed us a little break before heading home. The trees are really young though they have a beautiful garden to walk through. It’s a pretty wide open space. I loved the playgrounds and water park features.
Great place to take the kids bike riding. Its close to me and there is plenty of room to social distance.
So spacious & beautiful & very well maintained
Love this park. Grateful the restrooms are open.
Its a cool park with lots of things to do. Sweet skatepark too
Gorgeous views of the Olympic mountains, nice skate park, friendly people to connect with. Took my dogs, and lots of other dogs were there too.
It is a very peaceful place, I loved cycling in this lovely place.
Great large park with wandering paths but SO MANY people without masks
Huge park with lots to do. Great for kids and adults. Beautiful views.
A very historic park in hip hop, back in the 90s it was the only park in Seattle that allowed crews to gather in breakin battles, a few legendary breakers have danced there.
My favorite park in Seattle. Beautiful and tons of activities for all ages.Lots of open spaces, a community center, spray park in the summer, skatepark, track, tennis and basketball courts. A wide variety of slides, climbable stuff and two zip lines are the highlights of the playground. The hill in the NW corner is one of the highest points on Beacon Hill and has a great view of the city and Puget Sound. There is also a sustainable urban agriculture project called the Food Forest in the SW corner of the park that is very cool and worth taking a stroll through.
Great place to go on a lunch walk with a great view of Seattle from one of the outlooks!
I really like how they redesigned this park a few years ago. This park is great for playing Pokemon. Great for kids because there is a playground, basketball hoops, skate board ramps, tennis courts, walking trail, and empty fields to be able to play any outdoor games. There are also covered picnic areas that can be reserved for parties. The only thing I wish they did was add lights around the walking trail. It is really dark on the trail at night.
Amazing experience during this strange time of pandemic. Clean, welcoming, professional, and creative space where they make you feel special on a personal level.
Great place to pass through a run
We really like this park because it offers a ton of different things to do! Playground, splash park in the summer, big slides, zip lines, picnic areas, walking paths, open fields and much more!
Very good to go with the kids to have a lot of fun.
My husband and I only saw a very small portion of the park walking our dog. What we did see was well maintained and cared for. It was a place you wanted to bring your family to spend an outing or day with outdoors. Everyone respecting each other as well as the park itself. We are definitely going again to explore more.
Views of downtown and the Cascade range. Skate park and playground for the kids. Lots of paved walkways to get your 10,000 steps and bring a blanket to stretch out in the green areas.
Great view of city and sunset but restrooms locked up too early
Really amazing place for a sunset photo, great recreational activities and I thoroughly enjoyed hanging out here.
Great park! Tons to do, even in COVID times
Jefferson Park centrally located on Beacon Hill is a relatively newly recreated park. The park itself was a result of 911. Located on this piece of sprawling land that boardered a smallerpark, was one of the citys largest open to the atmosphere water treatment plant for the city of Seattle. After 911 Homeland Security required the City of Seattle to put a protected cap on the plant and provided the funds to do that. Once the cap was built, jefferson Park was built on top of the cap. It became an amazing neighborhood park for the community with playgrounds, ball fields, skateboarding park, lawn bowling facility, adjacent golf driving range that is part of an addition to a golf course across Beacon Ave, picnic areas and miles of walkways with amazing views that attracts joggers, bicyclists, and even Pokemon Go players.
Great for all ages! Nice paths, skate park, grassy fields, spray park, play space and gorgeous views
Its a nice, refreshing place to take ur children.
Nice park, there are lots of paths to walk. Visit the garden, lots of activities abound around the park at different times of the year. Also a great view spot of down town & Elliot bay. There is a nice play ground for the kids.
Best place to sit & think. Also nice for the kids (Take you own kids).
J l its very big and my kids loved it
Great skatepark with a library, golf course, bathrooms and a playground near by with a zip line.
Tons of space to socially distance at this beautiful park.
Park has everything but can be brutal on hot days as it has no shade
Awesome park... Something for everyone
A great Park for families lots of room for distancing as well
I love the lawn bowling club.
Large park with alot of options.... clean-ish bathrooms.
Expansive and lots of things for the kiddos to do. Offers shelters for rent which great for birthday parties. Great views as well.
Nice little park in Seattle. Parking lot is quite small and there are no shelters near the playground. Two zip lines and two slides are on the hill behind the play structure. There are swings, slides and various things to climb on. Also located in the park are areas to walk, play tennis and a large grass area.
Nice in city park for all ages.
Nice inner-city park for families.
This park has a little bit of everything. It is fairly big and has different things to do.
Great place to walk the dogs. The playground looks fun and interactive with multiple slides and zip line like things.
Big, beautiful park and garden.
Lots to do and look at, easily accessible, lots of places to sit and rest, very big.... theres a zipline!
Amazing park with space and a variety of activities.
Beautiful, family friendly place.
Great place to walk or relax
Beautiful view and wide open spaces!
This is a landscape that could just inhabit apartments and businesses as far as the eye can see but instead there is this beauty carved out of a large area at the top of the hill. Stop for nature, sports, pokemon go, or just a reprieve from the hubbub of the city around. There is space to stretch out and feel free.
This is a big open park on top of a hill with a playground for kids, and paved trail for bikes, skates, and strollers. Great for walking and jogging. I saw people of all ages exercising and enjoying the afternoon, including girls flying kites. It was a surprise find for me, and I hope to go back.
It was safe, just nice for the kids.
This is such an impressive park. Big field, nice playground, and an awesome view of the city
So many different play areas that are rated for appropriate age groups. There are even a couple of zip lines. Lots of running paths as well.
Being there with family is always a bonus, it would be nice if their was more stuff for kids to play with and on. watch out for the skaters, most of em are arrogant teens and some millennials who both share a huge amount of entitlement. the upside is that their decent side fields for people to play volleyball, football, soccer etc. Id say that the basketball court and basketball rims could use some TLC. The tennis courts are nice and not to many homeless people begging for money, doesnt mean you wont see some pass through.
Good park but the grass on the main field is really hard so try not to fall on it. Its about an inch of dirt and then concrete.
Seattle has a number of these parks situated atop underground reservoirs. They have wide open spaces, great views, and offer many play activities.
Pretty good-sized park with lots to offer including a large playground with cute kiddie zip lines, a skate park, a community ctr, tennis courts, and a 3/4 mile walking loop (.81 mile if you take a nice side loop in the nw corner of the park). Big open spaces for playing, relaxing on the grass, flying kites.
Its amazing what they have done with the parkI remember a time where the playground was where a tennis court now sits. They have a skate park, playground, water park and a huge field seperated by trails.Great place for picnics, parties and just for a nice scenic route.Im also impressed with how maintained the park is as well!Highly recommend.
I come for the lawn bowling, but the entire park is a magnificent city resource. I especially enjoy watching the Samoans playing their version of cricket in sarongs with their long war clubs. The park has some of the best views of the city too.
Beautiful park with views of the city and the Olympics.
Love it here....I love the tot gym for kids to play during winter.i always go here onTue and Thur .
Fun times lot of space awesome spray park
Our neighborhood park so we have been here a lot. Special views of the city, Puget Sound and the Olympics. Great playground and running space.
I dont know where is Jefferson park. Havent been there. Sorry
Great family park
Something for everyone at a park this big and this busy. Theres even a pea patch off the beaten path if you prefer less busy. Its a wonderful part, with blue views, and today theyre playing cricket!
I love Jefferson Park for its incredible expanses, the landscaping, the spectacular and iconic views, the trail all around, the playgrounds, tennis courts, community center, proximity to the golf course and driving range. A jem.
Nice place for a walk and play with the family
Great views, open spaces, relaxing
Best secret view of the city.
Great place for my walk and to enjoy the toddler gym with my grandson.
Peaceful n the men are everywhere
Great splash pad for kids. Excellent playground. Beautiful views. Not much cover from the sun so bring plenty of sunscreen on a sunny day.
Great park for all ages. Beautiful views.
One of our favorites, Year Round - we have 2 kids, both under 5 and we all love this park. There is a great play area with a traditional structure setup but also a mountain type wall and slides which our kids love. In the summer there is a splash pad that we literally have to pry our kids away from.As an added bonus there is a TON of open grass and green space. Its great for letting them just run around like crazy, impromptu soccer games, and even where we taught our oldest to ride a bike. Overall love this park.
One of the best parks in Seattle, hands down.
Perfect place for everyone!
Beautiful and large park in the Seattle area
Huge expanse of open space. Fly kites, play on structure, water on the spray park. Good place for kids from toddler to middle school. A good example of what public space can be.
