Not much of a “park” but a gorgeous trail along the canal. Great place to walk along the water. In warmer weather you can see everything from rowers, boats, kayaks, etc. If you’re lucky you may get to see the Fremont bridge rise to let a larger vessel through.

Any event here is going to be nice. Trail next to the water. I was there for the Summer solstice parade and festival, it was incredibly entertaining.

Popular roosting spot for hundreds of Double-crested Cormorants which roost in the poplars lining the canal.

A very lovely park with a great view, but infested with homeless people smoking and drinking

Ca

Great place to watch boats go by, see the ducks and geese, eat some food, or smoke something. Be sure to lift your feet as the wake comes by, but dont worry because its never high.

Br

It was great but easy to many junkie camps taking it over, avoid the west end

Park along the banks of the Lake Washington Ship Canal in Seattles Fremont neighborhood. Great for walking along the water or biking. The Burke Gillman trail runs through this park. Great place to sit by the water and watch boats go by on a sunny summer day. While you can swim in the canal here it is not advised because sewage may run off into the canal.

The Canal is a nice place to hang out at sunset on a clear day. Sit back and watch the boats go by. When the weather is nice be careful not to get run over by the determined cyclists who own the path.

The canal walk (part of the Burke Gilman mountains to shore Trail) will take you From downtown Fremont to Ballard and beyond to Golden Garden Beach. Only wanting about a 3 mile walk this morning i took it until I reached the Fred Meyer store in Ballard, where my carrot for this walk was the Starbucks store next to Fred Meyer where I picked up coffee for my return trip. The barista was a friendly man who put me in a pleasant .mood for my walk back to Fremont. There is a short detour currently while some construction happens. The detour route is quite narrow and walkers beware of bicyclists who go too fast for conditions making life treacherous for the lowly pedestrians

Very laid back park fitting snugly beside the ship canal on both sides of the Burke-Gilman bike trail. People who come here are unpretentious and friendly. That definitely includes any homeless people you see.

A favorite hangout spot for us. The benches facing the canal are great for hours of reading and pondering time. The boats floating by (not loudly or quickly, just right) give you lots to passively look at. Warning, this is a great spot to dream up plans to own a boat. Sit at your own risk. :)

Nice walk along the river, and sometimes has flea markets set up. The city needs to keep the scumbag homeless out though!

Vi
Review №54

Small but nice park. It usually full of our so called less fortunate neighbors smoking weed or shooting more potent drugs. At night they put up some nice tents, or in warmer months they would just cosily lay on cardboard boxes.
